Geared Up Garage

‘Geared Up Garage’…WOW! Great stamp set by Stampin’ Up! to use for those men that are into anything to do with cars. It is so much fun…with the gears and the vintage style signs for ‘Fathers Day’ or ‘Birthdays’, the car, tool box and oil can.

This stamp set is part of the Geared Up Garage Cling Bundle from the 2019 Occasions Catalogue. Just look at those dies….LOVE the gears. I have a house full of boys so this set was a must for me.

You can also purchase this 15 x 15 cm Designer Series Paper and the dies match some of the designs. The gears fit perfectly over the paper with gears, so you can cut them out and add to your card just as I have done in one of my cards below.

These products plus more are in the 2019 Occasions Catalogue, by purchasing the stamps and dies as a Bundle you will save 10%. The good thing is the stamp set and dies will be carrying over to the New 2019-2020 Annual Catalogue..but not as a bundle (it will have new ordering codes). So if you want to get the bundle and the Designer Series Paper then order it now!

Fridays Card Class

Last Friday we made the cards below using the stamps, dies and designer series paper.

On this card we cut the gears from the Foil Paper that I got from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue. Unfortunately that is now discontinued but you could use any of the other Foil Papers. The car was stamped in Momento onto Whisper White cardstock and coloured using the ‘Real Red Blends’, then cut with the coordinating die. The sentiment was cut out using the Rectangle Stitched die also found in the Occasions Catalogue.

TIP: When using DSP or coloured back grounds and you don’t want the white boarder around the stamped/coloured image …Run the brush tip end of the ‘Light Smoky Slate’ around the image before cutting. It will then blend into the background. See pictures below.

This card shows off the Designer Series Paper, used as the card front and the paper with the Gears cut using the matching die . Again we stamped and coloured the car with ‘Blends’, but this car has a sheen.

How did I do this!

  • Stamping and colouring the car – DO NOT CUT IT OUT
  • Wipe VersaMark ink pad across your image a couple of times making sure its well covered,
  • Sprinkle on ‘Clear Embossing Powder’ and heat with heat gun, until it has all melted.
  • When cool and dry cut out the car with die.
Embossed Car.
Top car with out Embossing Powder, bottom car with Embossing Powder. Also showing the Smoky Slate line around the car.

The ‘All Geared Up to celebrate’ sentiment was stamped onto a piece of Whisper White Cardstock in full strength Gray Granite, Oil smudges stamped with stamped off Gray Granite Stampin’ Pad to give a grunge look. Using the Star Burst Punch, punch out the sentiment and add some Black Thread looped on the back and adhered to card front with dimensionals. The car was glued to the to the Star Burst and a dimenstional added to under car front.

This last card we stamped the Happy Fathers Day sign in Tranquil Tide first, masked it of with ‘Post-it-Notes’ (cut using the matching die) and then stamped the oil smudges with Gray Ganite Stampin’ Pad- which was first stamped off. The nuts were stamped with the Basic Gray Stampin’ Pad. Peel of the mask. On a piece of Whisper White Card Stock Stamp and colour the car with Light and Dark Balmy Blue Blends, cut with die and adhere on top using dimensionals.

God wanted to Brighten up the World….

God wanted to Brighten up the World……So he made you!

I wanted to brighten the world one card at a time ….or all in one card!

With this card I challenged myself to use colours that were “Bold and Bright”. I wanted to use a stamp set or thinlets that haven’t seen the light of day for a while. There was a lot of ‘ummmming and ahhhhhing’ in what I should do. But I kept coming back to Stampin’ Up! Flourishing Phrases and the coordinating Flourish Thinlet Dies.

The colours I used besides Basic Black (which will make most colours ‘Pop”) and Whisper White are the 2018-2020 In-Colours – Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call me Clover and Blueberry Bushel. These are also colours I haven’t used a lot, not because I don’t like them. Because I do like them, and I love them more now.

If you look closely you will notice the flowers are sitting on a Basic Black mat. This was cut using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies found in the 2019 Occasions Catalogue.

Quick Tip…..

  • Cut cardstock into quarters (10.5 x 14.9 cm) adhere Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to one side. Die cut your Thinlets from that Piece, peel of backing and adhere to card.
  • The Lovely Lipstick flower on top of Whisper White circle I only removed half the backing sheet by peeling back half way and trim away. That way id doesn’t adhere to work below. Or…use the Embossing Buddy and pat on the half that you don’t want to be stuck down.

‘Wonderful Romance’

Wonderful Romance stamp set is part of the Floral Romance Suite on pages 10 & 11 of Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalogue. Wonderful Romance Bundle 150592 also includes the Wonderful Floral Framlits Dies.

I love the sentiments used in this stamp set, as they are romantic but still encouraging. “ You are the Best Thing I never knew I needed “.

It is so encouraging to be told “your the best and I need you”

This floral image is beautiful and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to colour it with the Stampin’ Up! watercolour pencils and Blender Pen.

How to…….

I stamped the image onto Shimmery White cardstock with Memento Ink. Then after colouring cut using the framlits from the bundle…No fussy cutting here!

Rich Razzleberry and Blushing Bride cardstock was used for the card base and mat. The sentiment was stamped in Rich Razzleberry onto a piece of Blushing Bride Cardstock then cut using the coordinating tag framelit

Adding a few elements from the coordinating paper – Floral Romance Specialty Designer Series Paper 148586 and Floral Romance Seals 148789, along with the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon finishes this card.

Global Design Project 176 | CASE the Designer

The challenge this week is to CASE a gorgeous card by Steffi Helmschrott from Germany.

CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit
When you CASE a project you can take what you like from the design and make it your own. It might be the stamp set – the colors, the layout, the theme, the images – whatever you like that has inspired you to make a card of your own.

Make sure you go over to Global Design Project and see all the wonderful projects made by the Design Team and the other entries to this challenge. To help you here is the link…Click HERE!

My Card……

This card I kept very simple using the colour and the embossed circles to be the focus of the card.

The five Stampin’ Up! colours – Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Pacific Point were all sponged and blended on Whisper White cardstock. Water was sprinkled on the cardstock to lift some of the colour to give more interest to the colours. The Basic Black card base makes the colours ‘POP’.

With white embossing powder I stamped and embossed the smallest circle from Stampin’ Up! Swirly Frames stamp set to mimic the circles on Steffi’s card.

The sentiment is built from words from the ‘Well Said’ Bundle found in the 2019 Occasions Catalogue. Combining both the stamped embossed words and Framelit words together. TIP: Adhere Multipurpose Adhesive sheets to your cardstock before running the framlits through the Big Shot.

The theme for the month of February is – Encouragement

For this card I used the Dear Doily Bundle 150616 from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalogue. The Dear Doily Stamps are one of the New Cling Stamps which ‘CLING’ to your acrylic block and they really do stick….. Make sure you check out the video on YouTube by Stampin’ Up! on the use and care of the ‘Cling’ stamps.

TIP: put a small piece of Washi Tape on one edge/ corner of the stamp to help peal it off the block or out of the case.

I have made a short video showing how I made this card….From a simple way of doing the watercolour wash on the card front, using 3 Re-Inkers and Glad-wrap – So Saffron, Mango Melody and Flirty Flamingo. The use of the Stamparatus for the stamping.of the sentiments and the flowers. The large Doily Builder Thinlit used without the out side edge to make a window in card front.

Forever Lovely….GDP#174

WOW!……It’s another week….and February already, the first month of 2019 has gone. Christmas and New Year has been packed away and now we are looking toward the next ‘Event’ on the calendar.

Valentines Day – a day where we celebrate those we love whether that is Husbands, wives, boyfriends, girlfriends or family and friends. Its those that we keep close in our hearts, those we want to tell “You are special to me!”

Stampin’ Up! have released in the Occasions Catalogue a beautiful Suite that celebrates ‘LOVE’. I used it last week in the Global Design Project Challenge and I can’t get enough of it. So I’m using it again….‘All My Love’

The card I have made is not a ‘Valentines Day Card’…but I made it in mind for a couple getting married or engaged..

Global Design Project 174 – Sketch Challenge

GDP#174- Sketch Challenge has given us another wonderful sketch to use…if you pop over to their Blog you will find some amazing projects using this sketch. Here’s the LINK to make it easy for you to find..

How was my card made….

Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper (DSP) used on this card is part of the ‘All My Love Suite’ which includes the Forever Lovely stamp/bundle and its called ‘All My Love’. The colours that co-ordinate with the DSP are..Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, Lovely Lipstick, Flirty Flamingo, Soft Sea Foam and Whisper White. I think I have managed to use all of these in my card.

The flowers were stamped in Flirty Flamingo and the leaves in Soft sea Foam.

Tip 1:

Make sure your ink pad is not too juicy…..I had to used the back of a spoon to push down the ink. These stamps are part of the Distinctive Stamp range which means that you are able to stamp with one colour but because of the texture of the stamp its self you get different tones of that colour. Example you will see on my card some leaves are dark and others are lighter – one colour, one stamp.

The DSP used has loose outlines of the flower and leaves done in white. I would have loved to be able to White Emboss the same on my card…but the are distinctive stamps and its only one stamp…

Tip 2:

So I used a white gel pen to out line my flowers. Before the flowers looked too heavy now the white just pulls it all together. I found it easier to also stamp these images with the Stamparutus.

My sentiments I used comes from the ‘First Frost’ stamps from the 2018 Holiday Catalogue and its one of the carry-over products…“YAY!”  you can still purchase it. The small scalloped edge is from the Delightfully Detailed Laser-cut Specialty Paper.

Thank you for visiting my Blog.

All the products I have used will be listed below my Blog and is linked back to my On-Line Store to make it easier for you to purchase…if you Live in Australia!.

Wishing you a lovely day….

Thank you for visiting my Blog and I hope you too are having a lovely day. Today here in Australia it is Australia Day and usually I’d be in Berrima celebrating with street parades, markets and great food. But today it has been so hot that Joe and I didn’t want to leave the house….

So what do you do when you don’t want to do anything but stay cool…………. make a card!

This card was made for the Global Design Project #173 Challenge.

Global Design Project 173 – Color Challenge

The GDP#173 – color challenge is a soft, sweet combination of Soft Sea Foam, So Saffron and Petal Pink. The Design Team have shared some beautiful projects to inspire us. To see their projects and what others have have made as part of the challenge …Click HERE!

My Card…

For my card I have used the ‘Forever Lovely Bundle’ 150580. This bundle consists of a Forever Lovely photopolymer stamp set and co-ordinating ‘Lovely Flowers Edgelit Dies’. By purchasing as a bundle you get a 10% discount….Bargin!

This card is made up of layers – The card base I used Very Vanilla cardstock, which is not a colour I use a lot but keeps in with the subtleness of the card. The ‘Subtle’ 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder gives some texture to the mat. The card front was stamped using the 2 stamps from the stamp set – one stamping the flowers and the other the leaves. In between these two layers I added a layer of vellum cut using the flower edgelit die and other flower and leaf images also cut using the dies that come with this bundle.

With a beautiful sentiment stamped in Momento Ink, a few extra hearts in So Saffron and clear rhinestones just finishes this lovely card.

Thank you for taking the time to read my Blog.

Mother & Daughter Class

This year I started the year with my first Mother and Daughter Class during the holidays. It was open to Mothers/Daughters, Grandmother/Granddaughters and of any age.

I had two Mum’s and their daughters (primary school age) attend and we had a lovely time playing with products from the Gingham Gala Suite from Stampin’ Up! 2019 Occasions Catalogue. We started with a simple and easy card to make, using a note card and the Butterfly Gala Stamps 148580. Learning to stamp and colour images using the stamps.

Then we took it up a notch by making a card using the Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper 148554 and the Butterfly Duet Punch 148523. You can purchase the Butterfly Gala Stamps with the punch as a a bundle 150599 with a 10% discount…great way to buy!

We coloured the butterflies using a Dauber and Stampin Pad, then punched out with the Butterfly Duet Punch. Adding a piece of vellum cardstock to the front of the card, a 2″ circle punched from Whisper White Cardstock, a Highland Heather circle cut with the Starburst Punch and finished with some Clear Rhinestones.

Along with the card we made a simple little gift box to match. With a couple of added chocolates, a small piece of ribbon and a paperclip to close the box. It’s ready to give to someone special.

This class was so much fun that I will be running again on April 27th…..

Thank you for Reading todays post. If you would like to know more about Stampin’ Up! or any of the products I have used. Or if you are interested in attending a class or Hosting a party …Please feel free to contact me.

Simple Stamping with Butterfly Gala

Simple Stamping with Butterfly Gala

Simple Stamping, getting back to the basics of stamping. Making a card that you can whip up in minutes, you don’t need many products and anyone can make.

Stampin’ Up! have given us a challenge…Simple Stamping…only using a note card, stamp and ink.

The stamp set I have used is ‘Butterfly Gala’, this set will be available in the 2019 Occasions Catalogue. You can purchase this stamp set along with a coordinating butterfly punch as a bundle. You will find in the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue other products that also coordinate with Butterfly Gala. Remember with the Sale-A-Brations when you spend $90 you can pick a FREE item for the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.

So getting back to my card…it’s so simple.

How to…..

Products Used –

Steps-

As this is a Photopolymer Stamp Set I used a pierce mat with all stamping.

  • Using the Memento Ink stamp on the sentiment
  • Choose which Butterfly you wish to use (there are 4 different designs) and only ink up the large butterfly in Memento Ink. You can do this by covering the small butterfly with Washi Tape ink it up then peal off the Washi Tape check there is no ink on the smaller butterfly and stamp the image. The butterflies are paired so if you were using the punch it matches up perfectly. Do this twice to have 2 large butterflies.
  • Repeat this again but this time you are stamping the three small butterfly.
  • In the stamp set you will find solid wing parts for large butterfly and a solid butterfly or wing parts for the smaller butterfly. Using a different colour with each butterfly stamp the solid images lining them up with the outlined images.
  • Stamp the butterfly bodies and antennae with the Memento Ink

Thank you for reading my post about this simple but fun card…I will add links to the products used below, except for the Butterfly Gala.
If you live in Australia and would like a copy of the Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Catalogues then just contact me and I will get one to you.
