Enduring Beauty

On my Tuesday night ‘Live with Michele’ I created this card using Stampin’ Up!® Enduring Beauty Stamp. This stamp is part of a Enduring Beauty Bundle, the bundle includes stamps, dies and masks.

Measurements Used…

This is a simple card to create, masking an area off area approx 6 x 8cm (2¼ x 3½”) using masking paper or ‘Post it Note Paper’. You want the masked area to be smaller than the stamp image, so that it has some ‘black and white’ image. Make sure the outer edge of the card front is covered so ink doesn’t colour the areas you want clean.

Using a Blending Brush, start with Fresh Freesia Ink and brush in a circular motion down 2/3rds of card front. From top down add Berry Burst to the top third of the card. Blending the Berry Burst into the Fresh Freesia. This also hid where I added too much ink in the Fresh Freesia (see Video).

Working from bottom up add Lost Lagoon blending it into the Fresh Freesia. Remove the masking paper.

Using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, stamp the Enduring Beauty image over the top.

Waves of Inspiration

I had a lot of fun creating this card…. The Stamp set I used is by Stampin’ Up! ®, called Waves of Inspiration and the coordinating Waves Dies. It was the back ground I enjoyed making, using only 3 colours Cherry Cobbler, Azure Afternoon and Crushed Curry (not a combination I would have picked) and who would have thought the combination of these colours would come together like this.

With the help of a few other tools –

  • a mask I created from the Basic Border Dies to create the clouds
  • some torn paper to create non solid lines of the ripple waves
  • Blending Brushes in large and small

I used the image below that I found on Google as my Inspiration for the scene. The colour combination came from a card that was sent to me from a friend and it worked really well for what I was trying to recreate.

Inspiration Image

The Wave Dies gives the card a focal image and makes you look beyond to the sun set. Both dies were cut from Basic White Cardstock and I coloured the larger of the two with Azure Afternoon Ink and Blending Brush, leaving some white space. I was going to layer with the white on top but it was a little to stark, so it ended up going under the Azure wave and that really worked well.

The sentiment and birds from the Waves of Inspiration Stamp Set were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. To finish the image I added some ‘dottage’ with Wink of Stella and White Craft Ink mixed with Wink of Stella for the water spray from the waves.

Keeping everything simple I mounted my finished card front on a Basic White card.

I LOVE the way this turned out.

Mini Pocket Envelope Dies

Mini Pocket Envelope Dies…. are just the right size for a Gift Tag, to hold a Gift Card, you can add it to the front of a card with an extra message inside or add on to a scrapbook page to hold your journaling…the ideas are endless.

On my ‘Live’ today I used the Stampin’ Up! Mini Pocket Envelope Dies to created a very ‘Shabby Chic’ style or even ‘Grunge’ style Pocket Envelope.

To decorate the envelope I used Quite Meadow Stamps, Stitchery Stamps, Meadow Dies and Brilliant Wings Dies

I used the blending brushes to add layers of age around the edges and splatters of White craft Ink and Wink of Stella.

This style is so out of my comfort zone …. but I had so much fun creating it. In the gallery above is also photo’s showing the another Mini Pocket Envelope using the Hues of Happiness suite.

Please excuse the start of the video as I had a small sound issue which we fixed..this is Live no editing…so I hope you enjoy

Delicate Dahlias – Casually Crafting Design Team Blog Hop

Welcome to Casually Crafting Blog Hop.

The Casually Crafting Design Team is made up of a group of Independent Stampin’ Up! ® Demonstrators from around the word, that enjoy sharing our take on casual crafting.

This months hop is all about Colour with a Colour Challenge: Pear Pizzazz – Daffodil Delight – Polished Pink

Today I have used the Delicate Dahlias from the 2021 Sale-A-bration, along with the Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks from the Annual Catalogue.

You can earn the Delicate Dahlias stamps when you spend $180 from the Annual or mini Catalogues.

The ombre back ground was created by using the Blending brushes to blend the daffodil delight Ink from the bottom to the top. Working the colour darker to lighter.

The Dahlias and leaves were stamped onto Basic White Cardstock , then fussy cut. I stamped the dahlias twice with both the outline stamp and the Distinktive stamp using the Polished Pink Ink Pad. One dahlia was cut around the outer edge, the other was cut further in to form two layers. The petals were slightly shaped before layering together using dimensionals.

The leaves were stamped using the Pear Pizzazz Ink Pad, fussy cut and tucked under the dahlia.

The sentiment is from the Lovely You Stamps, stamped onto basic Black cardstock and heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Sailing Home – April Creativity Abounds Blog Hop

Welcome to Creativity Abounds Blog Hop.   We are a group of very keen Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from all around the world that are coming together to share our creative ideas with you.  We are happy that you can join us and hope that we can Inspire you to make creations of your own.

Our them this month is MASCULINE…I am a mother of 4 boys and I always have trouble making cards for them. So this has been a good challenge to come up with a masculine card.

Sailing Home by Stampin' Up! Coloured using Blending Brushes and masking

For this card I used the Sailing Home Stamp set and coordinating dies Smooth Sailing. The ocean was created by masking with a torn piece of paper and using the Blending Brushes to create waves. To create the sun I made a mask by cutting a circle using the Layering Circle Dies and brushing the colour on.

After creating the background I stamped on the sailing boat image using Memento Black Ink and coloured it in with Blends- Soft Suede and Poppy Parade
