Dandelion Wishes from Stampin’ Up!

Who still picks Dandelions and makes a wish…I do!

Stampin’ Up! have in the Annual Catalogue the loveliest stamp set – Dandelion Wishes 146747.

There is so much to love about this simple but wonderful stamp. The sentiments are beautifully worded and the I love the font.

Today I made a short video which shows how I have used this stamp set, 7 Stampin’ Pads from the Brights Collection and the Stamparatus 148187 to create a card I have been wanting to do for a while.

The colours I have used are inspired from a screen saver on my tablet and they look awesome together. The Stamparatus allows multiple layers of colour to be stamped keeping everything in the same position, a tool worth investing in.

On the finished card I used Clear Rhinestones and coloured them with Stampin’ Up! Blends – Bermuda Bay, Mango Melody and Highland Heather ( The last two will be found in the soon to be released Holiday Catalogue)

Thank you for reading my Blog today and watching my video. Please leave a comment would love to hear from you. Any questions please just ask….

Petal Promenade by Stampin’ Up!

What is your favorite Designer Series Paper in the 2018-19 Annual Catalogue?

I have never been big on using a lot of the Designer Series Papers but this year Stampin’ Up! have brought out some beautiful papers. There are two that I really like Share What you Love Specialty designer Series Paper and Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper.

This week I have been playing with the Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper 146913, making Post-it Note Holders for a stall/display that is part of a Art Expo.

What do you think…CUTE!

The Petal Promenade paper is a photographic design paper, floral on one side and marble or textured design on the other. There are 6 designs in all and you get 2 of each design. Two of the papers have smaller elements that can be cut down for note cards or other projects. I have used the smaller elements which are 7.6cm (3″) square and stamped in the center using sentiments from Ribbon of Courage 143855 and Colorful Seasons 143726.

Thanks for reading my post this week…I will try and get a tutorial done soon on this project. I really recommend you to look at this paper it is stunning and more so in real life. You can purchase it through my store by clicking on the links above. Have a wonderful day…Keep on Stampin’

Thank You, Colour Your Season

Thank You……Colour Your Season from Stampin’ Up!

Another beautiful stamp from the “Colour Your Season Bundle”..I love the playfulness of the leaves and can imagine the wind blowing then along. In a country town I grew up in there is a big park and many large trees…every Autumn the gardeners racked the leaves into big mounds and it was so much fun jumping into them or hiding under the leaves to scare one of my sisters.

Its wonderful when making cards like this can bring back so many wonderful memories…

This card is one of those cards that wasn’t quite working the way I wanted and then it all fell into place, different from what was originally planed and better then what I thought.

This quote I think sums it up…

Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, breaking rules, making mistakes and having fun…..Mary Lou Cook

And ‘Yes’, there were mistakes, experimenting but most of all….. it was fun!

The leaves have been stamped in VersaMark and heat embossed in black, then watercoloured. Starting with the lightest colour and working towards the darkest. Watercolouring is something I always struggle with….but this time I took it slowly, dried with the heat gun before adding the next colour and I think that’s the secret to not ending up with a ‘MUD’ of colour.

I made this card as part of the Global Design Project Colour Challenge # 145

Animal Outing, Global Design Project #142 – Sketch Challenge

It’s been a while since the last Global Design Project Challenge I have participated in….

I have decided to get into it again…

so here it is….

The Global Design Project Challenge this week is a Sketch Challenge #142

To see this challenge and the beautiful cards made by the design team click HERE

For this challenge I decided to use…

Animal Outing from Stampin’ Up!

Animal Outing Clear-Mount Stamp Set 146600Also available in Wood Mount

Watercolour Rhino from Animal Outing

I stamped the Rhino image onto water colour paper using the Stamparatus 148187 making sure the image was clean and crisp by stamping it twice. So easy…knowing I can re-stamp the image getting it perfectly. Then with the Stampin’ Pads and Blender Pens I coloured this cute Rhino using  Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Petal Pink & Balmy Blue. Finishing it off with the bird in Balmy Blue, Bermuda Bay & Pear Pizzazz.

The Happy Birthday sentiment comes from Very Vintage 146801 (Stampin’ Rewards), stamped in VersaMark, heat embossed with Whisper White Embossing Powder onto Basic Black Cardstock.

The Petal Burst Embossing Folder gives beautiful texture to the Pear Pizzazz cardstock. Two small notches on either side of the card to hold the Linen Thread in place and finished with a bow to the side of the sentiment.

I hope you have enjoyed reading about this card,

Delightful Detail Suite by Stampin’ Up!

Delightful Detail Suite….

Stampin’ Up! have made a winner here!….At first I wasn’t sure what to think of this suite.

I loved the beautiful detailed lace like laser cut papers – Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper 146907

Delicately detailed laser-cut sheets. Vanilla on one side, white on the other side. Can easily be cut apart and used as accents on card fronts.

* 8 sheets: 4 each of 2 designs
* 12″ x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5 cm)

Coordinating colours: Very Vanilla, Whisper White

With this suite they have added a simple but elegant Stamp set – Detailed With Love Clear-Mount Stamp Set 146606

Within the suite there are other products as well and well worth looking at, but today I am just concentrating on these 2 products.

In my Class……

In my class last night we made 3 cards using these products.

The first card we made used the card front panels from the Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper.

These panels team with the Delightfully Detailed Note Cards & Envelopes 146911.

The best way to attach the laser cut paper to your card is by sponging Multi- Purpose Glue onto the back of your paper using a piece of sponge. To do this lay your paper onto your silicone mat, squeeze out some glue onto a corner of the mat and then pounce the sponge into the glue and gentle pounce the sponge over the paper. Working quickly and gently lift the paper and attach to card front pressing down all the edges. Afterwards keep your sponge in a snap lock bag so it doesn’t dry out as quick and it can use it again.

Here are the other cards made in the class….

Card No:2

With this card we used the large 30 x 30cm (12 x 12″) sheet of laser cut paper. The paper was cut down to a 11 x 15cm (41/4 x 6″) then laying it over the card mat (Not Glued), we worked out what sections needed to be cut away, keeping the removed section to add to the inside of the card. When the laser cut paper is adhered to the card mat let it overhang on the edges and then trim away.

The left over piece was sponged in Grapefruit Grove Classic Stampin’ Pad 147142 as were all the edges on card front mat, inside mat and sentiment.

The final card made was this beautiful vintage feel card.

Don’t throw away any of the off cuts…here we used the off cuts pieced together to help from the sentiment. So simple and so effective.

The stamp set used here is from the Stampin’ Rewards…Very Vintage Clear-Mount Stamp Set 146801

The sentiment was stamped onto the oval and the doily stamp was stamped off before stamping onto the oval.

This set you can earn when you Host a Workshop or spend $250 or more…to find out more Click HERE or contact me

*This host stamp set is only available with Stampin’ Rewards.

Card Sizes used…

The last measurements used on the last two cards are.

Front Mat and Inside Mat – 10 x 14 cm

Love what you do….Share what you Love

Love what you do….Share what you Love…

Isn’t it wonderful when you have something that you Love to do and brings so much enjoyment to be able to share it with others.

Stampin’ Up! LOVE what they do…and I LOVE what I do and when I love something I want to share it with others and that is what Stampin’ Up! is all about.

The Statement of My Heart Photopolymer Single Stamp is FREE in the Gotta Have it all Bundle.

Today I have been playing with……

“SHARE WHAT YOU LOVE”……Gotta Have It All Bundle 149812

Only available as a Bundle until 31st May 2018

There has been a card that I have been wanting to do for a long time and its my version of another card I had seen. The card its self is made out of vellum and the insert is made using a piece of  Share What You Love Designer Series Paper. The paper under the velum needed to be bright and bold to show through but still allow the embossed image to be the hero of the card.

How was this card made…

  • The velum is cut at 29cm x 10.5 cm and scored at 14.5 cm
  • The DSP is cut smaller than the vellum 8.5 cm x 24 cm and scored at 12 cm
  • Stamp and heat emboss the image and sentiment in White Embossing Powder
  • Adhere DSP insert to inside of card leaving approx 1 cm around all 4 sides. I used snail and the print of the paper camouflaged the adhesive.

  • Inside the insert add a piece of Whisper Whit cardstock 6.5cm x 10.5 cm to be able to write a greeting.

Tips of Heat Embossing on Vellum

  • Use the Embossing Buddy on the vellum to remove any static and oils from your hands being left on the surface of your vellum.
  • Before heating make sure you give your card a good flick on the back to remove any excess powder, I always keep a paint brush handy to remove those little bits of powder that don’t want to move.
  • Heat you heat gun before using on card.
  • Be careful not to overheat the vellum, keep the heat gun moving over your work.
  •  Heating the embossing powder from underneath the vellum can give you a better result. When heating the embossing powder from above, the powder can tend to blow off.

Change is in the air…….and it’s all great!

Change is in the air……and Stampin’ Up! are making some big changes in their colours…..and its all great!

It’s always good to keep things fresh and alive…I’m loving all these colours.

Its sad to some of the old colours go but a couple of old colours have returned…..

along with the colour revamp, Stampin’ Up! have redesigned the Stampin’ Pads making them easier to get into…

The Ink cases will be..

  • Less confusing to open. Opening the ink pad case is more simple and intuitive – just insert your thumb in the “LIP” at the front of the case and lift it to open.
  • Have a tighter fit between the lid and the base.
  • Be stackable – ability to stack the cases makes them easier to store and transport
  • Included improved labels and stickers

Also improvement to the Ink..

We added defoamer to the ink ingredients because we noticed that our old ink would sometimes bubble (especially on new
pads and with lighter colours). When this happened, the ink wasn’t as even and smooth when stamped as we’d like to see it.

The added defoamer will..

  • Reduce ink bubbles
    • Help you get an even coating of ink on the stamp
    • Help the stamped image have a smoother, solid look

If you wish to receive a copy of the new Catalogue when released please contact me..

(There will be a small fee to cover postage costs of $5)

Brusho and Stampin’ Up! Pattern Party Decorative Masks.

Brusho and Stampin’ Up! Pattern Party Decorative Masks.

I love the way this background effect has turned out, it has a tie dye feel to it. Almost that “Free Hippee, fun loving effect”

So to continue with that feel I kept the card very basic as the back ground is the focal point. Just a hint of contrast in colour with the Daffodil Delight and Old Olive flowers from the Petals and More Thinlets Dies.

Even the sentiment and font used has that earthy free movement to it.

The font used is from the Beautiful Day stamp set.

You can find a video on my YouTube Channel on how I achieved this effect called “Masks and Brusho”.

But there is one change I would do when trying this again. On the video I wet the watercolour paper first, instead of doing that lay the mask on the dry paper and then sprinkle the Busho, adding a light spray of water after. This way you will get more white space as above because the Brusho will not work on dry areas. If there is too much white space then give another light spray with water to move the colour about.

Have fun, play around….its trial and error. See what you come up with.

I have added links below to all of the products used and remember when you spend $90 from any of our catalogues you can choose an item for FREE from the Sale-A-Bration cataloges (including the extra SAB products just released)

Hope you have enjoyed my post and thanks for reading. If I can answer any questions for you please contact me.

Traveler’s Diary ….

When life gets so busy and you get to the end of the week…I looked back to find what I had missed….

And it was YOU!

So what have I been doing….it seems I am always on the computer. Looking for ideas searching the net, looking at Facebook. It never seems to end.

I have to sit at the start of each week and plan out my week or nothing gets done. And what better way to do this but with a planner or Diary, a book to jot down Tasks, Events, plans or ideas. Something that fits in your purse or bag that’s handy, something that is all about you and your life. A reflection of your day to day life.

A book to write about your travels, what you have seen, your thoughts or your feelings….a book to use for Prayer Points and Bible Study Notes….

A collection of books held together in one cover, with pockets to add things you need to keep or memorabilia of special events.

Here is my version of a Traveler’s Diary….its fits in my bag. I have used one of my favorite Designer Series Papers.

It has 3 books for notes, a basic month by month calendar and somewhere for photo’s of my family.

If you are interested in learning how to make one of these I will be running a workshop (in Australia), detailed below.

After this class I will post a Tutorial on this.

Any questions about this or anything else please contact me.
