Global Design Project #029 | Colour Challenge

“This week is most definitely a challenge for us all – we know that you are up it.

We can either thank or be frustrated with my husband Bruno Bertucci for coming up with this colour combo depending on how you feel about it.”

So this colour Combo was Bruno’s idea, Kylie………mmmmm!

GDP029 Colour

Interesting combination but once I started working out what I was going to do, it all came together.

With this card I wanted to keep it light and soft with a look of being Antique.

These 3 colours are such strong colours and can easily over power each other but they work so well together.

I have used Crumb Cake Card stock as my White because I didn’t want a stark bright contrast. The Crumb Cake softens and blends the colours.

The Rose image I stamped in Early Espresso and then used the Blender Pen to bring the colour out and give shading Adding a touch more Early Espresso from the stamp pad.

The edges of the Deco Labels Framelit was sponged in the Early Espresso.

On the card I stamped the texture stamp from “You’ve Got This” Stamp Set in the 2 colours overlapping them.

The ribbon used is the Seam Binding in Crumb Cake (discontinued), this was dampened by spraying with water and then

scrunching ribbon and stamping directly on top with the two colours….Tangelo Twist and Bermuda Bay.

What do you do with Designer Series Paper or Scrapbooking Card stock that’s left over?

For those of us that are Demonstrators with Stampin’ Up! & DSP has retired but still have some left over

or

you have a collection of printed Cardstock & you are not sure how you are going to use it all.

or

you now do Project Life and don’t need all that 12 x 12 card stock.

I have a few ideas…

  1. Sell it on Ebay or sale/swap sites (following the SU Manual)
  2. Give it away to schools or preschools
  3. Give as a gift to young girls (or boys) that love to do crafts
  4. Cut it into 10 x 15cm ( 4 x 6″) pieces to use as Project Life Cards

I have done all of these over the years except for No.4..Project Life Cards, until today.

Over this weekend I have started catching up on getting my photo’s sorted.

Usually I would recommend with starting with the most recent photos as these you can remember the details.

But I’m not taking my own advise here….I have started at 2008.

One of my previous post explains this a little…..

while sorting photo’s for my sons 21st I came across photos that showed a milestone event that happened in out lives.

I ways meant to put them in an album but like most of us I hadn’t got around to it.

Now I’m working on catching up these lost years…which makes for lots of pages to do.

So to get back to the excess card stock……

I have started my Project Life album from 2008..

so I will need lots of Cards to fill a few gaps.

So I have cut up some of my Card stock (DSP) into 10 x 15cm (4 x 6 “) pieces.

PLs_01

They are there ready to go when I need them…

I have also spent a little bit of time organising my Project Life trolly,

I have taken the lid and placed it behind the base and put a rubber band around them to keep them together.

This allows for extra storage for the Accessories packs you can purchase to go with your cards and keeps them together in families.

PLs4_01

In some of box lids where I don’t have the  accesories left I have placed the DSP I have cut.

Its all ready to go..whether I’m working at the dinning room table or in my office…

Hello….Flowering Fields – PPA292

Pals Paper Arts this week has a Sketch Challenge by Beth Beard

PPA-292-Mar17

This is a very interesting Sketch and for a while wasn’t sure what I could do with it.

It’s worth while to go over to their site and have a look at what the design team have come up with.

HERE is the link…even give it ago yourselves would love to see what you come up with.

In my card I have used Flowering Fields Stamps and Designer Series Paper.

The images were stamped in black Memento and coloured in with Stampin’ Write Markers.

The “Hello” is from a discontinued Stamp Set – Good Greetings

Just Add Ink #303…”Just Add E”

Just add “E”

A challenge using “E”……E for Egg…E for Easter….E for Exciting…

With Easter only days away that could be one theme to run with or you could choose colours/images/Easel fold or even add a tool…Envelope Punch Board maybe.

This is the challenge set by Just Add Ink.

My card is all about Easter….

God gave us his Son to die on the Cross for Us.

His Son the LAMB of God.

The sentiment on the front of the card was printed via the computer.

I love the way that Rochelle Blok (JAI Design Team) made her Cross so I have CASed her idea to make mine.

I loved the way the Cross is tied together with Linen Thread giving it that rustic feel.

I used the Hardwood Stamp to achieve a timber look for the cross.

My lamb is sitting among flowers at the base of the Cross.

I wish you all a very Happy Easter.

Global Design Project #027 | Theme Challenge

The design challenge set for us this week by the Global Design Project Team is…..

“Thank You”

GDP027 Thank you

Every time I think of the words “Thank You” I think of a song I used to sing at Church in the Youth Choir..(Sooooo many years ago)

Thank you for giving me the morning,

thank you for every day that,s new,

thank you for new things in store for me

and for work to do.

Thank you, I see your word has meaning,

thank you, I know your Spirit here,

thank you, because you love all people

those both near and far

Thank you for speaking to us,

thank you for telling us you care,

thank you, O Lord you came among us

bread and wine to share

Thank you, O Lord your is boundless

thank you that I am full of you

thank you you make me feel so glad and

thankful as I do

,

There seems to be many versions of this song, but this is the one I remember so clearly.

My card today I have made using the Botanical Builder Framelits and Wildflower Fields DSP,

The Botanicals I have cut out in Whisper White Card Stock and sponged in Calypso Coral, Old Olive and Hello Honey.

The Tag and Thank you sentiment come from the Rose Wonder Stamp Set and Rose Garden Thinlits Dies.

For me this card is soft, gentle and “Thankful”, just as the song.

Honey Comb Happiness….there sooooo cute!

Yesterday I had a workshop and we made cards and a gift for Easter….

and I just had to share it with you.

Kathy wanted to make one of her cards into a Birthday Card, so we added the balloon and Oh’ Hello.

The Envelope Punchboard Decanter was cased from Linda @ Paper Craft with Crafty.

To make it a bit more suited for my class I converted the measurements from Imperial to Metric and enlarged slightly. With a few adjustments it turned out great.

For the Cards we used the Honeycomb Happiness Stamp Set from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog.

Thank You…….

THANK YOU……for being my friend, for helping me, for doing something nice or maybe for taking part in some event.

It’s nice to say “Thank You” and sometimes we don’t say it enough….

it doesn’t have to be for the big things in Life but those little things that get forgotten.

It’s good to let those we love know that we do think of them and we do appreciate what they do.

The card I’ve made today is going to a lovely friend who every two weeks comes over and helps me clean the house.

I really appreciate her for this as…

1. I hate house work

2. I have problems getting around so to have someone do those things that take me all day. lets me get the smaller jobs done

3. She is also good for a chat and its nice to have a friend that calls in for a coffee.

I have made this card using the Botanical’s again, this time I wanted a patchwork type of look…but as always I have one idea in my head to start with and end up with something a bit different.

I’m very pleased with the way it has turned out

Wow!….I’m on a roll!

Wow!…..I’m on a roll!

But it is so easy when you have beautiful stamps and the most amazing papers to use.

A few years back when I was looking for a business to become involved with, I was looking for something different, fresh and up with the times.

And I think Stampin’ Up! have been all that and more…

The people are great , the company is helpful and the product is of a high quality.

I love using these great products….

So back to the beginning of this article….I’m on a roll.

I’m loving these beautiful stamps and coordinating papers from both the Occasional Catalog and the Sale-A-Bration Catalog.

IMAG0596

Go to the link above and have a look at the catalog’s……If you purchase $90 worth of product you get to choose one item for free.

Keep on Stampin’ Up!

Your in my Thoughts and Prays….and Botanical Gardens

With this card I wanted to try something a bit different and only have a half front.

In the Botanical Builder Framelits I have used the piece….and I have just realised I have used it wrong way around. My

leaves are pointing down…O’well…I still like it.

I did it this way to get the shaping I wanted on that half of card.

The sentiment which I have used from Rose Wonder is stamped on the lower right corner of the card.

The flowers and leaves I cut from scraps of card stock, this is the beauty of this set you can use up all those scraps.
