Today I am taking part in the Scrapbook Sunday Blog Hop, I am using the ‘Everyday You and Me Scrapbooking Workshop Kit‘ by Stampin’ Up!®. This Kit has all the products in it to create 3 double page layouts, including all the cutting guides, Designer Series Paper, sticker sheet, die cuts and photo placement mats.
Extras you can also purchase are..
- Everyday You & Me Bundle – stamps and dies
- Everyday Happenings Designer Series Paper and Sticker Sheet – 4 each of 3 Double sided papers
- Everyday you & Me Two-Tone cardstock
- Everyday Happenings DSP -4 each of 3 Double sided papers, NO STICKER SHEET
The Everyday You & Me DSP are stunning and even though it has a floral them they can be used for any gender or age. For my layout which is an alternative layout I’ve only used the papers from the workshop kit. I have added elements created using the Seaside Wishes Bundle and Beauty of the Deep Dies.
The story – Seashells & Sand
Recently I was sorting through all my photos trying to get into some sort of order and I came across these photos of my youngest son, Patrick. This was a special holiday….when our boys turned 7years old Joe took them on a holiday, 2 days away doing whatever they wanted. It was a special weekend for father and son to bond. Patrick choose to go to Jarvis Bay to see the Whales or Dolphins, stay with some special friends and to have an adventure.
This is the first layout of a possible 3 layouts.

How I created my page…
Layout
This is a very simple layout as the paper is stunning with a was of colours across the page. I turned one page around so the beige to brown tones almost look like they are going diagonal across both sheets of paper.
To add more texture to the page I teared 1″ (2.5cm) from the top and bottom. By tearing towards myself I was left with the white core of the DSP showing. The reverse side of main DSP is this beautiful elongated spot and I just could through it away, so by flipping it over I was able to slip it under the top sheet to add another layer of texture.
The base of my layout is Pretty Peacock using the lighter side of the Two-Tone Cardstock.
The main photo has been double matted with Basic White and the lighter side of the Pretty Peacock Two-Tone cardstock. The 4 3 x 4″ photos on the left side was just matted on a single mat in the Two-Tone Pretty Peacock.
Die Cuts
- Two-Tone Pretty Peacock, dark side – Coral from Beauty of the Deep Bundle.
- Basic Beige – Sand Dollars cut with the Seaside Wishes 3D Embossing folder & Die, lightly coloured with a blending brush and Pecan Pie Ink.
- Petal Pink – die cut coral from the Seaside Wishes Dies.
- Misty Moonlight – Stamped starfish with Night of Navy Ink and die cut using the Seaside Wishes Bundle.
Journal
I love creating my text in Publisher using a text box. I can set this to the finished size I want and by making it to ‘Best Fit’ it will automatically adjust the font size as I go. You just need to be aware that if you have a lot to say, the font size can become a bit small. This can sometimes be fixed by adjusting the size of the Text Box.
I printed the story onto Avery Matte Clear Shipping Labels (purchased through Amazon- sorry No Link, unable to find in AU)
Title
My title I created through my Silhouette Cameo, using Basic White and Pretty Peacock Cardstock (solid core)
