A Note About the Products
Before we get started, I should mention that some of the products I’ve used on this page are no longer available. I’m creating this layout using products I already have in my stash, so while some items may still be current, others may have retired or sold out.
Don’t let that stop you from creating, though! You can easily substitute products from your own stash or use the layout as inspiration for your next scrapbook page.
Preserving Family Memories
The photos I’m using today are from my Aunt and Uncle’s wedding in the early 1960s. I don’t have very many details about their wedding, and I only had three photos to work with.
The third photo is tucked under a Flip Flap, and when I find out more details, I’ll be adding the journaling underneath the Flip Flap as well.
These photos have been floating around my craft room for some time, so I thought it was about time they found their way onto a scrapbook page!
How To..
Because these are black-and-white photos, you could really use any colours you like. I decided to use the beautiful Lost Lagoon and Secret Sea Two-Tone Cardstock for my page base.
The Designer Series Paper I used is from the Beautiful Gallery paper pack, now discontinued.
The Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper is 6″ x 6″, which means I needed to create a join in the centre of my 12″ x 12″ page.
To conceal the join a little, I turned one of the papers around until I found a section where the design matched as closely as possible.
Of course, another option would be to add some embellishments across the centre to disguise the join. Sometimes a few strategically placed flowers, leaves or other embellishments are all you need!
For the stamped flowers and leaves, I used the Simply Beautiful Bundle (discontinued). I stamped the images onto Basic Beige Two-Tone Cardstock using Secret Sea Ink.
After cutting the leaves out with the coordinating dies, I used a Blending Brush to add a little more Secret Sea Ink to the leaves, giving them some extra depth and dimension.
The sentiment is from the Beautifully Celebrated Bundle, which I also stamped using Secret Sea Ink.

I love that this page gives these old family photos a place to be enjoyed and remembered.
And once I have more details about my Aunt and Uncle’s wedding, I’ll be able to add the story underneath the Flip Flap — making the page even more meaningful.
Sometimes we don’t have all the information when we first start a scrapbook page, and that’s okay. The important thing is getting those precious photos out of the box, off the computer or, in my case, out of the craft room and onto a page where they can be enjoyed!
