Global Design Project 178 Sketch Challenge

It’s time for a fabulous sketch challenge this week – there are so many great ways to interpret this sketch and make it your own. We know you’ll love it as much as we do! Here’s the sketch for this week’s challenge:

Make sure you go and check out GDP to see all the fantastic projects done by the Design Team and the other Entries in the Challenge. The Link is HERE

This week I have mixed things up a bit by using the image from one stamp set and the sentiment from another. The two sets come from the Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration Catalogue and you can get either one FREE when you spend $90 (AU) or spend $180 (AU) and get both for FREE

How to make my card..

Product required-

  • By the Bay stamp set 149739
  • Home to Roost149736
  • Early Espresso cardstock – Card base 14.5 x 21 cm, scoured at 10.5 cm & banner 9.7 x 1 cm
  • Pool Party cardstock – mat 14 x 10 cm & a small piece for under the banner 10.7 x .5 cm
  • Crumb Cake cardstock – card front 13.7 x 9.7 cm
  • watercolour paper 8 x 8cm
  • Very Vanilla cardstock – insert 14 x 10 cm
  • Stampin’ Pads – Pool Party, Balmy Blue, Smokey Slate, Daffodil Delight & Calypso Coral
  • Stazon Black
  • Aqua Painter
  • Stitched Shapes Framelits – 2nd largest circle
  • White Embossing Powder, VersaMark, Embossing Buddy, Heat Gun

How to-

  • Watercolour Paper – stamp seagulls all over using Stazon ink.
  • Loosely colour the image with inks using Aqua Painter
  • Cut using the Stitched Framelit circle
  • Stamp the seagulls also onto the Crumb Cake cardstock with the Crumb Cake ink.
  • Emboss the sentiment onto the Early Espresso banner with the White Embossing Powder and heat set.

  • Adhere card together.

Global Design Project 176 | CASE the Designer

The challenge this week is to CASE a gorgeous card by Steffi Helmschrott from Germany.

CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit
When you CASE a project you can take what you like from the design and make it your own. It might be the stamp set – the colors, the layout, the theme, the images – whatever you like that has inspired you to make a card of your own.

Make sure you go over to Global Design Project and see all the wonderful projects made by the Design Team and the other entries to this challenge. To help you here is the link…Click HERE!

My Card……

This card I kept very simple using the colour and the embossed circles to be the focus of the card.

The five Stampin’ Up! colours – Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and Pacific Point were all sponged and blended on Whisper White cardstock. Water was sprinkled on the cardstock to lift some of the colour to give more interest to the colours. The Basic Black card base makes the colours ‘POP’.

With white embossing powder I stamped and embossed the smallest circle from Stampin’ Up! Swirly Frames stamp set to mimic the circles on Steffi’s card.

The sentiment is built from words from the ‘Well Said’ Bundle found in the 2019 Occasions Catalogue. Combining both the stamped embossed words and Framelit words together. TIP: Adhere Multipurpose Adhesive sheets to your cardstock before running the framlits through the Big Shot.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. If you have any questions, please just ask. All the products used are listed below and are linked back to my On-Line Store.

All the Good Things

This weeks Global Design Project is a ‘Theme Challenge’ – GDP#175 and the theme is ‘Down the garden path’. To see all the projects made by the Design Team and the other entries in the GDP#175 Challenge CLICK HERE

Now I’m not much of a gardener, I pretty much tend to kill anything I try to grow. But I do like to look at lovely gardens and last year my son took my husband (his father) and myself to the National Arboretum Canberra.

While there we went and saw the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection…….it was amazing. If you are ever in Canberra it is worth the visit. And I am glad I’m not the one to look after these magnificent little gardens.

Thankfully Stampin’ Up! have a stamp that I hope I can’t kill and it doesn’t need to be watered….and reminds me of that time we spent with Hayden in Canberra.

All the Good Things by Stampin’ Up!

146558 – Clear , 146555 – Wood

How have I coloured this stamp….

Instead of using just one colour on this stamp, I have used seven colours…that’s right SEVEN colours….HOW?

First off you have to use the ‘Stamparutus’ this cannot be done with out it. Why? Because you need to go back adding one colour at a time and this is what the Stamparutus allows you to do.

Secondly, I used a Sponge Dauber to add the link to the stamp.

So what colours and where…..

  • Pot – Cajun Craze and Fresh Fig used to highlight the edges and bottom of the pot.
  • Tree Trunk – Early Espresso
  • Leaves – Old Olive, Shaded Spruce and Tranquil Tide.
  • Added Gold Shimmer Paint to leaves also..(from Holiday Catalogue)

The card base is Early Espresso, a piece of Fresh Fig – embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder and a strip of Designer Series Paper from the Nature’s Poem collection. The Stamped image was cut using the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies found in the Occasions Catalogue on page 28.

Thank you for reading my Blog, I hope you have found it interesting. All the products used are listed below and linked back to my On-Line Store. Any questions or comments leave in the comments below and I will get back to you.

Forever Lovely….GDP#174

WOW!……It’s another week….and February already, the first month of 2019 has gone. Christmas and New Year has been packed away and now we are looking toward the next ‘Event’ on the calendar.

Valentines Day – a day where we celebrate those we love whether that is Husbands, wives, boyfriends, girlfriends or family and friends. Its those that we keep close in our hearts, those we want to tell “You are special to me!”

Stampin’ Up! have released in the Occasions Catalogue a beautiful Suite that celebrates ‘LOVE’. I used it last week in the Global Design Project Challenge and I can’t get enough of it. So I’m using it again….‘All My Love’

The card I have made is not a ‘Valentines Day Card’…but I made it in mind for a couple getting married or engaged..

Global Design Project 174 – Sketch Challenge

GDP#174- Sketch Challenge has given us another wonderful sketch to use…if you pop over to their Blog you will find some amazing projects using this sketch. Here’s the LINK to make it easy for you to find..

How was my card made….

Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper (DSP) used on this card is part of the ‘All My Love Suite’ which includes the Forever Lovely stamp/bundle and its called ‘All My Love’. The colours that co-ordinate with the DSP are..Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, Lovely Lipstick, Flirty Flamingo, Soft Sea Foam and Whisper White. I think I have managed to use all of these in my card.

The flowers were stamped in Flirty Flamingo and the leaves in Soft sea Foam.

Tip 1:

Make sure your ink pad is not too juicy…..I had to used the back of a spoon to push down the ink. These stamps are part of the Distinctive Stamp range which means that you are able to stamp with one colour but because of the texture of the stamp its self you get different tones of that colour. Example you will see on my card some leaves are dark and others are lighter – one colour, one stamp.

The DSP used has loose outlines of the flower and leaves done in white. I would have loved to be able to White Emboss the same on my card…but the are distinctive stamps and its only one stamp…

Tip 2:

So I used a white gel pen to out line my flowers. Before the flowers looked too heavy now the white just pulls it all together. I found it easier to also stamp these images with the Stamparutus.

My sentiments I used comes from the ‘First Frost’ stamps from the 2018 Holiday Catalogue and its one of the carry-over products…“YAY!”  you can still purchase it. The small scalloped edge is from the Delightfully Detailed Laser-cut Specialty Paper.

Thank you for visiting my Blog.

All the products I have used will be listed below my Blog and is linked back to my On-Line Store to make it easier for you to purchase…if you Live in Australia!.

Wishing you a lovely day….

Thank you for visiting my Blog and I hope you too are having a lovely day. Today here in Australia it is Australia Day and usually I’d be in Berrima celebrating with street parades, markets and great food. But today it has been so hot that Joe and I didn’t want to leave the house….

So what do you do when you don’t want to do anything but stay cool…………. make a card!

This card was made for the Global Design Project #173 Challenge.

Global Design Project 173 – Color Challenge

The GDP#173 – color challenge is a soft, sweet combination of Soft Sea Foam, So Saffron and Petal Pink. The Design Team have shared some beautiful projects to inspire us. To see their projects and what others have have made as part of the challenge …Click HERE!

My Card…

For my card I have used the ‘Forever Lovely Bundle’ 150580. This bundle consists of a Forever Lovely photopolymer stamp set and co-ordinating ‘Lovely Flowers Edgelit Dies’. By purchasing as a bundle you get a 10% discount….Bargin!

This card is made up of layers – The card base I used Very Vanilla cardstock, which is not a colour I use a lot but keeps in with the subtleness of the card. The ‘Subtle’ 3D Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder gives some texture to the mat. The card front was stamped using the 2 stamps from the stamp set – one stamping the flowers and the other the leaves. In between these two layers I added a layer of vellum cut using the flower edgelit die and other flower and leaf images also cut using the dies that come with this bundle.

With a beautiful sentiment stamped in Momento Ink, a few extra hearts in So Saffron and clear rhinestones just finishes this lovely card.

Thank you for taking the time to read my Blog.

Global Design Project 144 | CASE the Designer

This week the Challenge set by Global Design Project is to CASE the designer, Charlet Mallett.

CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit

I love the way Charlet has put her card together, its simple and very effective.

To see other cards made by the GDP team using Charlet’s card as inspiration then click HERE

All of the products I used in my card are from the Nature’s Poem Suite found on page 142 of the Stampin’ Up! 2018-19 Annual Catalogue.

I love the way my card turned out, I made a few small changes by adding a mat behind the Designer Series Paper and that just because I love mats…I love them behind photos and on my cards because I think it frames the card. The mat is very subtle as its the same colour as the card but I have added texture by using the new Subtle Embossing Folder 143706. And when they say subtle it is very subtle….It gives the paper a linen weave look. I also used the same folder on the piece of white cardstock on the front of the card. I think this embossing folder is going to become a favorite of mine, so watch out you may see a lot more of it.

The stamp set I used on this card is called Rooted in Nature and can be purchased as part of a bundle with Nature’s Roots Framelits Dies 148353 – ClearWooden 148352. This set has 16 rubber stamps depicting trees, leaves and the end of a log – the rings. Along with these there are 6 sentiments that work beautifully with all of these elements.

The beautiful paper used is also from this suite and is called Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper 146338. I love how these papers work so well together and there are 9 coordinating colours in the cardstock.

I finished my card off with one of the stunning leaves from the Leaves Trinkets 146343 and a piece of Crumb Cake twine from Natural Twine 146342 ,tied to the copper leaf and the ends frayed.

This card was fun to do and I will be sharing this card with the girls attending this months Card Class.

If you also love this beautiful Designer Series Paper – Nature’s Poem, you can purchase it as part of the Buy 3, Get 1 Free Promotion. Only for the month of July.

Thank You for reading my Blog, below you will find a list of all the products used in this card with links to my On-line Store

Love It..Live It..Share It..

Global Design Project 143 – Theme Challenge

We all have things that we love – family, friends, pets, hobbies…

and I think that Stampin’ Up! Mission – Statement of the Heart says it all for us involved in Stampin’ Up!….Global Design Project has asked ‘We would love to see you share what makes you live for stamping and creativity!’

I love doing craft and over the years have done many different types of crafts. There is always one thing that remains with all that I do is ‘I love to share’ …..

To share by giving to others or through teaching what I love.

I also love to do Jigsaw’s….I have done since I was a child doing them on the table-tennis table.

They help me in times I’m stressed and want to just chill out!

This card allows the recipient to put the jigsaw together to find the Birthday message for them.

This card incorporates two of these……making a card which I’m going to send to a family member and a Jigsaw.

How was this card made…..

This could not have been made without the Stamparatus 148187.

Other Products used..

 Healing Hugs 146530

Picture Perfect Birthday 145519

Love You to Pieces Bundle 148396

Both the card base and card front needs to be stamped identically so then the card base becomes the ground for the jigsaw. So by using the Stamparatus and grid paper you can get perfect placement.

Purple Line – Card Base, Blue Line – Card Front

Once the card and card fronts are stamped add mat to back of card front with lots of adhesive to hold it all together.

Position Puzzle Pieces Thinlits Dies onto card Front and attached mat – run through with the Big Shot cutting the jigsaw pieces.

Attach the card front/mat to front of card base matching the stamped images.

A Vellum envelope was made using the Envelope Punch Board 133774 to hold the Jigsaw Pieces.

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog post and I hope you have enjoyed it.

Animal Outing, Global Design Project #142 – Sketch Challenge

It’s been a while since the last Global Design Project Challenge I have participated in….

I have decided to get into it again…

so here it is….

The Global Design Project Challenge this week is a Sketch Challenge #142

To see this challenge and the beautiful cards made by the design team click HERE

For this challenge I decided to use…

Animal Outing from Stampin’ Up!

Animal Outing Clear-Mount Stamp Set 146600Also available in Wood Mount

Watercolour Rhino from Animal Outing

I stamped the Rhino image onto water colour paper using the Stamparatus 148187 making sure the image was clean and crisp by stamping it twice. So easy…knowing I can re-stamp the image getting it perfectly. Then with the Stampin’ Pads and Blender Pens I coloured this cute Rhino using  Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Petal Pink & Balmy Blue. Finishing it off with the bird in Balmy Blue, Bermuda Bay & Pear Pizzazz.

The Happy Birthday sentiment comes from Very Vintage 146801 (Stampin’ Rewards), stamped in VersaMark, heat embossed with Whisper White Embossing Powder onto Basic Black Cardstock.

The Petal Burst Embossing Folder gives beautiful texture to the Pear Pizzazz cardstock. Two small notches on either side of the card to hold the Linen Thread in place and finished with a bow to the side of the sentiment.

I hope you have enjoyed reading about this card,

all the products used will be listed below with links to my store.

Celebrate the Season – Global Design Project #115

There are only a couple of days until December and the count down for Christmas is happening..

This weekend I’m hoping to get the tree up and decorated, if I can get my boys involved as I love taking photos of them decorating the tree. Maybe if I get the girlfriends helping out, they may do something…How is the shopping going, got it all done?…..  I still have lots of shopping to do. Do you have any ideas for a 22yr, 21yr and 16yr old boys? The only one I have done is the 18 yr old….

I LOVE Christmas…I love giving gifts and I love receiving them as well.

But what I love best is celebrating the Birth of Jesus Christ with family and friends.

Today’s Card….

This week Global Design Project have a Theme Challenge – Christmas.

To see all the projects done by the design team follow the CLICK on the picture below.

At this time of year its not hard to do a Christmas card as we are all making heaps to send to all our friends…how are they coming along, you getting yours done?

I wanted to do something a bit different and this morning when I was having a bit of a clean up in my office…(this is something I have to do all the time as I have inherited my Dad’s hording gene). I found a picture of a card I found in a magazine years ago…and I mean years ago. I find these things tear them out and then forget about them.

Back to the card….

The stamp set I used is Stampin’ Up! Tag & Trimmings 144832 and the Designer Series Paper comes from the Christmas Around the World DSP Collection 144629.

I will add links below for all the other products used found in my Online Store.

This is a easy, simple card to make…its just a three fold card but one end is curved to add some interest. Have added the measurements below..The Nut Cracker was fussy cut and attached with some Mini Dimensionals.

To keep the card closed nicely I added a small magnet to the inside…if I had thought about this more the magnet would have been added before the Designer Series Paper (gray snow flakes and under the Celebrate the Season. The inside of the card I added a panel with just some stamped snow flakes and the sentiment from the front of the card.

Hope you like my card, if you have any questions please just contact me as I would love to hear from you.
