Paper Florist Dies – Let’s Craft Together Blog Hop

Our theme this month for the Let’s Craft Together Blog Hop is a ‘Colour Challenge’ and I am using the ‘Paper Florist Dies‘ by Stampin’ Up!®

I created this challenge and I’m looking forward to see what everyone has created. You could use 3 of the colours or all 5 colours. I love this combination of colours so beautiful and bright….what a great way to start of ‘Spring’

I just had to use the Paper Florist Dies to create beautiful blooms for my card. The flowers are all water coloured using the Fluid 100 Water Colour paper with ink from the Ink Pads using the Water Painters.

How to make this card…

Cutting Measurements

	Colour	Imperial/Letter	Metric/A4
Card Base	Boho Blue	4 ¼ x 11”, score @ 5 ½”	10.5 x 29.9cm, score @ 14.9cm
Card Front	Boho Blue	4 x 5 ¼”	10 x 14.4cm
Card Insert	Basic White	4 x 5 ¼”	10 x 14.4cm
Banner	Basic White	3 x 3½”	7 x 9cm
Fluid 100		2 sheets cut into half, one for each colour
Stamens	Basic Black	Scrap to cut x 1
Stems	Basic White	Scrap to cut x 4

Cut all cardstock as listed above
With 4 x 1/2 sheets Fluid 100 Water Colour Paper and Water Painters colour each sheet in Parakeet Party, Berry Burst, Fresh Freesia and Lemon Lolly Stamp Pads. Make sure you have some texture in the colours – light & dark. If you don’t get the light & dark, sprinkle some water over coloured area and blot off with paper towel.
Die Cut
- Flowers, stems and centers from coloured Water Colour Paper
- Flower Stamens from Basic Black Cardstock.
- Die cut large banner die from Basic White Cardstock using the Nested Essential Dies
- Using the stems die from Cheerful Daisies Dies cut 4 from Basic White.
Create the flowers
Emboss the Boho Blue card front using the Basic 3D Embossing Folders
Stamp sentiment onto Banner using Memento Tuxedo Black
Adhere Card front to card Base.
Place Banner onto dimensionals and attach to card front.
Using Multi Purpose Glue decorate around the banner
Add splashes of Wink of Stella to card front.
Adhere the card insert into your card.

Joy of Christmas

This is my first play with products from the Joy of Christmas Suite by Stampin’ Up!® and I really love it. I only purchased part of this suite and now I need to go back and get the rest, I love it. This suite comes with 2 stamp bundles , Joy of Noel and Christmas Classics Bundle.

It also has a pack of Joyful Specialty Designer Series Paper and Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper.

Other products that are in the suite are Loose Holly Gems & Sequins and Black & Very Vanilla Large Check Ribbon.

Hey Chuck – Let’s Craft Together Blog hop

Our theme this month is a ‘Picture Inspiration’, – create a project using the below picture as your inspiration. It may be the colours, images or sketches. This challenge was given to us by Maheswari, I had a lot of fun creating this card, not only with the challenge but with ‘Hey Chuck’ Bundle.

I have chosen 3 elements from the ‘Picture Inspiration’

Hey Chuck

This is my second card using the ‘Hey Chuck’ Bundle and I seem to be creating a theme with these cards. They are bright and lots of fun, in both creating them as well as enjoying the finished card.

3 Rectangle elements – My use of the above elements is very broad as my chooks would not stay in the confines of the rectangles.

Torn Edges – The Lemon Lime Twist card stock is from the White Center Specialty Paper and when torn the white core shows.

Elements from behind the last rectangle – The die cut sun, wind vane and ‘Rise & Shine’ sign and the elements from behind the last rectangle.

How to Make….

Cut all cardstock and score.
Card Mat – Tear approx 1cm off top and bottom of Lemon Lime Twist White Center Specialty Paper and adhere to the card base. Keep torn off pieces, one to be used on the card insert.
- Tip- If you want the white core to be on the front of the Card Base, have right side up and tear towards yourself.
Die cut 3 rectangles with the Deckled Rectangles using the 2nd smallest die.

Sentiment ‘Rise & Shine’
- Stamp in Early Espresso Ink
- Use Deckled Rectangles to cut sentiment – there is no die the right size for this, I used a larger die to cut 2 sides & then moved die to cut other 2 sides.
- With blending brush and Crumb Cake Ink colour the sentiment.
Adhere the 3 rectangles to card front, leave room to slip sun behind last rectangle.
Using Multi Purpose Glue adhere the fences onto the rectangles.
Add dimensionals to the back of the chooks and add to card front.
Tuck sun behind the last rectangle.
Glue wind vane and sentiment to card front.
Card Insert
- Glue one of the torn Lemon Lime Twist White Center Specialty Paper pieces to the bottom edge of the card insert.
- Add fence and Wind Vane
- Stamp ‘It’s your Birthday’ sentiment with Early Espresso Ink.

Masterfully Made – Live with Michele

Today on ‘Live with Michele’ I made a card for the Just Add Ink ‘Sketch’ Challenge using Masterfully Made Suite Collection from the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalogue.

It’s time for the new Just Add Ink Challenge. This week we have a Sketch that has been suggested by Di. There are so many possibilities for how this Sketch can be used. We are looking forward to seeing what you all make of it. Have fun!

I love challenges because they stretch me, take me out of my comfort zone. They are good if your ‘Mojo’ is a bit lost, as it gives you a starting point. You can copy it as is or change some of the elements as per shapes…circles to square. Turn it around so instead of a portrait layout it becomes a landscape layout.

Make sure you head over to Just Add Ink and check what the Design Team have created, make sure you also look at the other entries…Better still create a project and add it to the challenge, have fun!

Hey Chuck

This week on my ‘Live with Michele’ I created this fun card using the Stampin’ Up!® ‘Hey Chuck’ Bundle. I was inspired by lots of different cards created by some very talented Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators.

The rooster – Chuck! I coloured using the Stampin Blends, on my video below you will see what colours I used and how they were used to create this ‘Loud and a bit Crazy’ Rooster.

I also added clouds with a template made using the Basic Boarders Die and Starry Sky Link brushed on with a blending Brush.

Oh Holly Night – Live with Michele

Last night on ‘Live with Michele’ I created this Fun Fold – Faux Step Card, using the ‘O Holy Night Suite’. This suite you will find in the Sept – Dec Mini Catalogue by Stampin’ Up!®.

I saw this card created by Mary Deatherage, Mary used the Trucking Along Bundle to create her fun card. Which you can see HERE. Mary has great diagrams on the scoring lines, other wise you will see on my attached video, below.

O Holy Night is a BIG suite of products, for this card I have only used half of it. For me it really depicts what Christmas is all about with the Nativity scene depicting the birth of Jesus.

The Designer Series Paper, O Holy Night, has 3 sheets of scenes depicting desert, towns and night sky. They are 12 x 12″ (30 x 30cm), great for both cards and scapbooking. The only thing is you need to plan out what sections you want to use on your card and cut wisely. With my card below I used half a sheet, which left me with a few off cuts I will try to use on other projects.

How to…

Cut all cardstock and score
Designer Series Paper – All pieces are cut from a half sheet of DSP 15 x 30cm (6 x 12″), you need to plan out were you will be cutting first. Cut each piece in order as below, see video.
1. Cut the Card Base Strip DSP first – this is so you can cut in one strip.
2. Card Front Panel – Decide how much ground to sky you want to use. Cut your depth 10.2cm (4⅛”) and then work out the width for star placement on your card front.
3. Remaining DSP- cut Card Base and writing panel strip
Stamp sentiment onto Very Vanilla using Night of Navy Ink Pad and die cut using stitched square from Stylish Shapes
Adhere the Card Base DSP strip to the small mountain fold and Card Base DSP to larger mountain fold
Adhere the Card Front DSP to Card Front.
Add glue to the back of the card front…ONLY on the bottom 2cm ( 1″), height of the small mountain.
Fold card and adhere the back section of the Card Front to the back of the Card Base, again only approx 1cm (½”)
Add sentiment to card base.
Attach Nativity Scene with mini dimensionals
Writing panel
- Attach DSP strip along the bottom
- Adhere the camel, being careful on the amount of glue used.
- Attach to the back of the Card Base.
Add Wink of Stella to star.

Water Colour Circles Technique – Live with Michele

On Friday in my ‘Live with Michele’ I created this card using a fun technique using the NEW Stampin’ Write Markers. What makes these new? The fine tip nib has been improved, it is a thicker nib which helps with this technique.

The Stampin’ Write markers are water based ink and when used on the Fluid 100 Water Colour Paper allows the ink to move and spread outwards, blurring the lines.

I have kept the circles simple by using one colour per circle, when using more then one colour you will blend colours which creates new colours…so the fun you can create is wonderful. I would suggest only using 3 colours, too many and you could end up making mud….

There are a few different ways you can work this.

Trace one circle at a time and then go around the circle with a water painter. Then add next circle.
Trace all circles in the 3 colours before adding water with the water painters. Then go around each one with the water painters blending the colours

How To…

To create the circles I made a template from window sheets and die cut circles using the Reach for the Stars Dies. This can then be kept for use in other places where you may want circles.
Tip: Play with water colour paper and markers before woking on your card piece. I have a cheap pad of water colour paper to test different ideas out.
Using the Fluid 100 Water Colour Paper I worked one circle at a time.
Marker Colours used Berry Burst, Azure Afternoon, Lemon Lime Twist.
Using one colour at a time trace of one circle with marker. Then using the water painter blend the lines with a wet brush, blend as much as you want.
Continue by adding more circles and going around each with the water painters. I also worked one colour at a time.

I said in my video that I was using Azure Afternoon Cardstock for the sentiment, I ended up using Tahitian Tide cardstock, when I look back now I think the Azure Afternoon would have been too dark anyway.

Colour & Contour – Live with Michele

Today I’m taking part in the Just Add Ink ‘Clean & Simple’ Challenge and I am using Stampin’ Up!® Colour & Contour Stamps and Scalloped Contours Dies from the Annual Catalogue.

What is Clean & Simple?…Below is the definition by Just Add Ink, for some it’s just “Stamps, Paper, Ink”

What is “Clean & Simple”…Minimal accents and layers, clean colour pallets, nothing overly fussy…Basically the less is more concept!

Others say…there must be ‘White Space, Minimal layers, clean lines and shapes, few embellishments and they must be small, Patterned, Designer, textured, glittered and metallic paper to be kept to an absolute minimum’

Make sure you head over to Just Add Ink and check what the Design Team have created, make sure you also look at the other entries….better still create a project and add it to the challenge, have fun!

Colour & Contour

This card I used a very simple design to keep in with the ‘Clean & Simple’ theme….I have a Card Base and a Card front, both in white. The Card Front I added texture by using a mask from the New Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks (available in September to Order) with Smoky Slate.

The card front is adhere to the card base with multi purpose glue, making the two layers as one. You could very easily make this card with out the card front.

The flower image from Colours & Contours is a very simple design but has a beautiful flow to it with the curves lines of the flowers and stem. It is a two step stamp where there is a second stamp to fill in the petals of the flower heads and bud. I used Memento Tuxedo Black to stamp my image and Bubble Bath to colour the petals and bud.

I finished of this card with just 3 Classic Matt Dots.

Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder

Today I have used a NEW product found in the Sept-Dec 2023 Stampin’ Up! ® Mini Catalogue…..Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder.

It has that old world charm, that has been worn over time. It’s like that rug on the floor that has had people walking over it for hundreds of years, it has patches were the pattern is no longer visible but in other areas still vibrant and loved.

I embossed the vellum with the Distressed Tile 3D Folder, which left areas on the vellum that were sheer (allowing the DSP under the vellum to show through) and other areas opaque.

To complete the card I added Timeless Arrangements Bundle and Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper .

I used this card as my entry for the Global Design Project #406

Global Design Project #406 | Sketch Challenge

It’s time for a fabulous sketch challenge this week – there are so many great ways to interpret this sketch and make it your own. We know you’ll love it as much as we do! Here’s the sketch for this week’s challenge:

How to make this card…

Cut all Cardstock and DSP
Vellum – Emboss with Distress Tile 3D Embossing Folder
Die cut leaves and flowers from Timeless Arrangements
- Leaves- Pretty Peacock x 1
- Flowers- Fresh Freesia x 1
- Sm. Flower sprig – Berry Burst x 2
Sentiment – stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black
Adhere DSP to card base
Attach embossed vellum with glue dots over the DSP. Glue Dots are hidden under the textured parts of embossed vellum.
Adhere the layer flowers and leaves behind the sentiment, add dimensional’s and attach to card front. Add Berry Burst flowers with Multi Purpose Glue, tucking them amongst the other flowers and leaves.
Add In-Colour dots to card front. i used the Moody Mauve Dots which work with the Berry Burst in the card.
Adhere the DSP strip to card insert and attach to the inside of the card.

Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks – Live with Michele

The wonderful thing about being a Stampin’ Up! ® Demonstrator is that you get to play with product before it’s released…Yesterday I received my box of products that I ordered – my Pre-Order.

In my video I go through some of these products, sharing why I purchased them. One of these products is the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks. This pack of masks has 7 masks in it, 3 stand alone masks and 4 that work together to create a simple card front. Each mask is numbered and has a notch above the number making it easy to line up the masks.

In the video I showed the first card I made with these masks, the card below was made with some extra details being….

Adding more than one colour on each mask
Adding texture or detail behind the flowers
Adding extra leaves to fill in some of the white space
Bring the flowers slightly closer

I also used 2 other new products

So Sincere Stamp set – 11 sentiment stamps
Deckled Circles Dies – 14 circle dies the largest being 14.6cm diameter
