Welcome to Creativity Abounds Blog Hop. We are a group of very keen Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from all around the world that are coming together to share our creative ideas with you. We are happy that you can join us and hope that we can Inspire you to make creations of your own.

Our theme this month is Anything But Christmas. This is where we can use any product from the Stampin’ Up! ® Catalogues and make a card that doesn’t have a Christmas theme and as we are now getting closer to Christmas and the Stampin’ Up! ® Mini Catalogue is all about the Holiday Seasons it’s good to just make something not holiday related.

My cards in both the Blog Hop and the Tutorial focus on….

Brightest Beauty

Last Friday on my ‘Live with Michele’ I created a stamped 12 x 12″ Designer Series Paper(DSP) to be used in my Wedding Scrapbook Album. I also created a piece on A4 Basic White Cardstock and decided to use this piece to create this card.

The base of my card I used Sahara Sand Cardstock and made a mat using the Split Card Textures Dies. The mat piece I used the Blending Brushes and Soft Suede Stampin’ Pad to go around the edges and die cut areas to add a little colour.

The DSP I cut down slightly smaller than my mat and tore down one side at a angle giving me a rough edge. I again added Soft Suede ink to all my edges….I just wanted to give it a earthy sort of tone.

The sentiment is from the Go to Greetings Stamp Set. This is such a great set using four basic greetings like – Happy Birthday, Just a Note, Thank You and Thinking of you and 3 different fonts. This will be my go to set for sentiments. The sentiment was die cut out using the frame die from the Brightest Beauty Bundle.

I finished of the card by adding a generous triple bow, and the sentiment just sits below but with parts of the bow under caught under it. Some Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots

On the inside of my card I have added an insert using a piece of DSP where I hadn’t stamped all the way. So if you don’t like adding lots of writing it’s perfect.

Mini Pocket Envelope Dies

Mini Pocket Envelope Dies…. are just the right size for a Gift Tag, to hold a Gift Card, you can add it to the front of a card with an extra message inside or add on to a scrapbook page to hold your journaling…the ideas are endless.

On my ‘Live’ today I used the Stampin’ Up! Mini Pocket Envelope Dies to created a very ‘Shabby Chic’ style or even ‘Grunge’ style Pocket Envelope.

To decorate the envelope I used Quite Meadow Stamps, Stitchery Stamps, Meadow Dies and Brilliant Wings Dies

I used the blending brushes to add layers of age around the edges and splatters of White craft Ink and Wink of Stella.

This style is so out of my comfort zone …. but I had so much fun creating it. In the gallery above is also photo’s showing the another Mini Pocket Envelope using the Hues of Happiness suite.

Hues of Happiness – Creativity Abounds Blog Hop

Welcome to Creativity Abounds Blog Hop, our theme this month is ‘Hues of Happiness Suite Collection‘. I will be making this card as part of our July Hues of Happiness Stamp Camp. Hope all our ideas inspire you to create a special card.

July is World Watercolor Month, and we have lots of watercolouring products to celebrate! Pencils, paper, stamps and more. Take a look at what we have to offer.

Using the images from Hues of Happiness Suite and watercolour Fluid 100, I have embossed and coloured the roses and leaves for my card.

Dragonfly Garden

This card I created a watercolour back ground using a smooching technique and an acrylic block and stamped flowers from the Dragonfly Garden Stamps.

Using Fluid 100 Water Colour Paper by Stampin’ Up! and two stamp pads – Tahitian Tide & Parakeet Party.

TIPS: The flower and sentiment was stamped with Memento Black Ink. Memento is a water based ink so I had to make sure that the watercolour back ground was very dry before stamping. If you were to do the watercolouring after the stamping the black would bleed. You should use Stazon whenever you are doing watercolour on top of an image.

I used the same technique a couple of weeks back on ‘Live with Michele’ You can watch the video HERE on YouTube. In this video I used 3 colours and a smaller block..With this card I used ‘E’ size block

Beautiful Shapes Facebook Live Friday

Beautiful Shapes….I just love these hexagons, for the past week or two I have been working on an English Paper Piecing quilt using hexagons. Using up lots of little scrapes of fabric left over from face masks I was making over the last couple of years.

Whenever I do a watercolour card I usually have practice pieces or pieces I wasn’t happy with. Instead of throwing them away you could cut then up using dies…leaves, flowers or hexagons and use to create other interesting projects.

So for my ‘Live’ this week I created hexagons using the Beautiful Shapes Dies

A card made using left over watercolour pieces cut into hexigons using the Beautiful Shape Dies by Stampin' Up!

The sentiment is from the Happiness Abounds Stamp set and the dies I used to cut it out is from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I sat the sentiment on top of a vellum circle as it got lost a little with the background DSP- Perfectly Penciled and coloured Hexagons.

Below is my quilt…it’s now twice the size…great while watching TV.

He’s the Man – Creativity Abounds Blog Hop

For my card this month I am using the ‘He’s the Man Suite Collection’ from the 2022-23 Annual Catalogue. He’s the Man- Every Day with you……

He’s the Man, an adventures man…..Using the ‘He’s all That Bundle’ by Stampin’ Up!® I created this almost Nautical card.

This card has ended becoming such an elegant card and I love it…I hope you do too. It is a simple card and with not many elements to it.

I have used one of the new In-Colors Starry Sky with Sahara Sand and Basic White with a bit of Gold

Using Blending Brushes I ink all around the card front taking it from dark at the edges to lighter in the middle. Starry Sky on starry sky is stunning, it gave so much depth, I then stamped the compass image on top of the so it looks like a watermark.

The stamped and die-cut sentiment sits on top of White bakers twine, which was wrapped around the card front.

Leaves were punched out using the using the Bough Punch in Sahara Sand, Gold and White. The Sahara Sand leaves were brushed with the blending brushes using the ink that was left on the brush from doing the card front.

Happiness Abounds

Today we rolled the dice….Brights, Standard card, Masking, Pearls, Sentiment- For You.

Using the Stampin’ Up! Happiness Abounds Bundle I created this water colour group of roses. The grouping was created by masking off one flower when stamping the next. In the video below I show how this is done starting with the rose in the foreground and working to the background.

The colours from the Brights collection are Poppy Parade, Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape and Mango Melody.

The sentiment was from the Color and Contour Stamps was stamped in Versa Mark onto Basic Black Card Stock and heat embossed with white Embossing Powder.
