Back in October 2023 I joined a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators to take part in a ‘Card swap with a Twist – Chain card Swap.

How does this work?

The swap is similar to an old fashioned chain letter or I would say…”Chinese Whispers with Cards’

We were given a list of names – 11 in total (not including myself)
Create a simple card
Send to first person on the list
Wait to receive a card from someone…
‘CASE’ that card and send it to the 2nd person on your list
Repeat until all people on the list has received a card

Now this is the fun part….When you CASE the card you received, it’s your interpretation of the received card. Just like ‘Chinese Whispers’ you may not end up with what you originally designed

Round 7 Waves of Inspiration

The CASING of this card came down to what did I have…..and I had the Waves of Inspiration Stamps and coordinating Waves Dies.

The waves I cut from Basic White and Misty Moonlight cardstock, then layered to create the crashing waves. The clouds I die cut in Basic White and using the small blending brush added Azure Afternoon or was it Blueberry Bushell (I can’t remember) lightly around the edges. The cloud dies leaves embossed lines or Cloud Fluffly Lines on the die cut, I just highlighted these lines with the Smoky Slate Blends.

The pelican was stamped in Smoky Slate and colour with Blends Smoky Slate, Balmy Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake, Natural Tones Blends ( Light, Medium Deep and Deep).

For the sentiment tag I stamped the Posts 3-4 times as close together as I could and then coloured using the same colours used before – Crumb Cake, Natural Tones Blends ( Light, Medium Deep and Deep). Then die cut with the coordinating die.
