Let’s Craft Together Blog Hop

Welcome to Let’s Craft Together Blog Hop. We are a group of Australian Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators that are coming together to share our creative ideas with you. We are happy that you can join us and hope that we can Inspire you to make creations of your own. Each month we will be showing different ideas based around products, themes and challenges.

Our theme this month for the Let’s Craft Together Blog Hop is a ‘Sketch Challenge’ by Maheswari and I am using the Mix & Match Ephemera Packs, Joyful Images & Joyful Sayings by Stampin’ Up!®.

Joyful Images & Joyful Sayings

I have created this simple and easy Christmas card using Maheswari’s sketch and the Mix and Match Ephemera packs from the Stampin’ Up!® Sept- Jan 2024 Mini Catalogue. I have used the A Little bit Festive Specialty Designer Series Paper, which also comes with some of these same ephemera pieces.

Why didn’t I use the elements from the Specialty DSP?

The answer to that is…I’ve used them up. There is also more choice in the Mix & Match packs, they all work together and are great when creating on the go.

How to make this card…

To give a bit more texture to the card, I embossed the Basic White panel using the Basic Embossing Folders.

I also used leaves left over from other projects to add extra fill in my clusters.

  • Mossy Meadow Leaves- Winter Tree Top Dies
  • Gold Foil Leaves- Sentimental Wishes Dies

This card was created purely from what I had lying around my desk.

Our theme this month for the Let’s Craft Together Blog Hop is a Case the Mini Catalogue’ by Julia . Today the NEW 2024 September – December Mini Catalogue is ‘LIVE” for you to order products from…YAY!

Sentimental Christmas

I have decided to CASE a card from page 28 in the Mini, using the Sentimental Christmas Suite. This was a fun and simple card to CASE, with some simple stamping, use of White and gold Embossing Powder and you can’t forget the use of the Sentimental Wishes Designer Series Paper on the card front and a die cut image of the stocking.

A Little Bit Festive

I created this card using the ‘A Little Bit Festive Specialty Designer Series Paper’ by Stampin’ Up!®. It will be available to order in September from the 2024 Sept-Jan Mini Catalogue.

By using one of the dies from the Elegant Boarders Dies (Online Exclusive) I created a peek through to the card insert Designer Series Paper.

A slight card adjustment – I added some a splatter of Gold Wink of Stella after the Live.

A Little Bit Festive Tee-Pee Card

This is a really great fun fold to use at Christmas, as the Tee Pee or Pyramid Card has the look of a Christmas Tree.

The A Little Bit Festive Specialty Designer Series Paper will be available to order in September when the 2024 Mini Sept – Jan Mini Catalogue is released. This paper pack is made of of 3 double sided Designer Series Papers and 3 sheets of Die Cuts.

 DSP1½ x 1½”, x 24 x 4, x 2
Approx. 7cm circle Die CutBasic White3¼ x 3¼”8 x 8cm

I made this card a few years ago – Christmas Gleaming Tee Pee Card.

Points to Remember

  • Check you DSP is going to look OK at an angel or what ever direction its in.
  • When making this card you need to make sure the embellishment don’t hang over too much at the sides so as it can fit into the envelope when folded in half.
  • Decorating – make sure you have the card front (one of 2 sides), triangle with the two points forming the baseline.
  • Measure up 2cm from where DSP meets in each direction. Cut a line across between the 2cm points.
  • Tuck point from other side into slit to hold card together. See image below

Chain Card Swap Blog Hop – Sharni

Back in October 2023 I joined a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators to take part in a ‘Card swap with a Twist – Chain card Swap.

How does this work?

The swap is similar to an old fashioned chain letter or I would say…”Chinese Whispers with Cards’

  • We were given a list of names – 11 in total (not including myself)
  • Create a simple card
  • Send to first person on the list
  • Wait to receive a card from someone…
  • ‘CASE’ that card and send it to the 2nd person on your list
  • Repeat until all people on the list has received a card

Now this is the fun part….When you CASE the card you received, it’s your interpretation of the received card. Just like ‘Chinese Whispers’ you may not end up with what you originally designed

Round 3 O Holly Night

I created this card after receiving a card from Nancy.

O Holly Night was a beautiful Suite to use, it came with 2 packs of Designer Series Paper – O Holly Night and Shinning Brightly Specialty Paper.

The focal point of this card is the Nativity Scene. For this I used the Deckled Circle Dies and 2 layers of the O Holly Night Designer Series Paper, with the die cut Nativity scene die cut from Basic Black cardstock.

Were to Start…Start this hop at Sharni so you get the progression

Follow the Hop around and see how these creations changed from start to finish…you might be surprised to see how these cards finished up!

Round 5 Merriest Trees

I am so pleased that Merriest Trees is staying with us, I had so much fun playing with it.

When casing this card I used the elements of the 2 squares and made it 2 tags, I also added an extra layer of Designer Series Paper underneath the top layer. I love the Tailor Made Tags and will be sad to see them go…(I might hand onto them a bit longer)

A Bush Christmas

Our theme this month for the Let’s Craft Together Blog Hop by Ann Alexander is a ‘Theme Challenge – A Bush Christmas’ .

I love this challenge, for the last month it has been bouncing around in my head, working out what I could do. I love Australian Native Flowers and Stampin’ Up! ® Everlasting Beauty Stamp Set was perfect for this challenge using the stunning Waratah to make my focal point.

I also used the Magical Meadow Dies for the other elements with the Waratah. Even though they are not technically Australian fauna I tried to colour them to represent the Australian Bush. The Holly was added, because what is Christmas without a bit of Holly.

Joy of Noel – Live with Michele

Yesterday on ‘Live with Michele’ I played with this simple and fun card…using the Stampin’ Up! ® Joy Of Noel Stamps and Dies Bundle. It was like playing with building blocks.

If you don’t have this bundle grab it now as it is on the ‘Last Chance Sale’ , while stocks last.

Below I have added measurements and a couple of handy tips, also the Youtube Video if you missed my Live. A list of all the supplies I used is also listed where you can just add everything to your Shopping Cart.

The September–December 2023 Mini Catalogue is retiring soon! It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to a Stampin’ Up! catalogue, but we’re looking forward to all the new products on their way—and we hope you are, too!

From 21 November 2023–3 January 2024, you can stock up on your favourite seasonal products and save up to 60% on essential craft supplies! So, what are you waiting for? Start shopping and selling! After all, a selection of Last Chance Products will only be available while supplies last.

  • The above Conversion from Metric to Imperial is as close to what I used (Metric)…these measurements may change depending on Envelope size. I used a Stampin’ Up! Square Envelope (Discontinued) as my guide and it was 14cm Square. You could only use this size or larger as the Dies control the size.
  • Dry fit your letters in the order you want before glues, as you saw in my video just changing placement of squares messed up my placement.

Christmas Baubles – Live with Michele

Yesterdays ‘Live’ was fun….it’s always fun when you can play with ink and water….Don’t you think?

I have been watching the reels on my Instagram and there has been a few people who have been creating these stunning Christmas baubles using watercolour paint and watercolour paper. As the short reel below.

I have taken this idea and using Stampin’ Up!® Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper and the Inks to create my version of these baubles. I created my circle using a Stampin’ Up!® container and dipping it into watered down ink on a block. What other shapes do you have at home you could use…..How about ‘cookie cutters’…I hope you have fun creating some of these like I did.

With the added use of Joy of Noel Bundle and Country Wreath Dies, it just finished off my cards.

There is a YouTube Video below showing how I created my card.
