Joy to the World

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Joy to the World

This is heading into my favorite time of the year…Where we celebrate the Birth of Christ and what JOY that brings of Salvation and Hope.

My card today I have used products from the Peace and Joy Bundle 155167. This card is a slim line card, the finished card measures 10 x 21 cm (cut 20 x21cm, score 10cm). This is a simple card to make with the only stamping on the label.

Here I used a Label die from the Stitched Nested Labels as the base for sentiment to sit on. The sentiment is ‘Joy – to the World’ and for the ‘Joy’ I used all the 3 dies from the Bundle. The beautiful Red Velvet Paper was used for the fine word die and I used the Adhesive Sheets on the back of the Red Velvet and the Whisper White die cut – to make adhering them together a breeze.

TIP – Once you have adhered all the 3 parts of ‘Joy” together place it onto of the Whisper White Label and lightly trace around it. This way you have an idea where you need to stamp. Shown here from another project made using the same Dies. The pencil line then can be rubbed away using a soft eraser.

Christmas Gleaming Tee-Pee Card

Hi! Welcome today to my Blog.

Christmas Gleaming Tee-Pee Card

For years I have looked at this style of card and have wanted to make one…Yay! Now I have done it….what do you think?

For this card I have used some of the Christmas Gleaming Variety Bundle 156082 that is a returning product in the Aug-Jan 2020 Mini Catalogue. Oh…and not forgetting the Punches that is included in the Bundle

This card when folded flat will fit into our Australian Std C6 envelope.

The challenging thing when making this card was making and attaching the embellishments to the front of this card. You need to make sure that when you fold the card flat that the ‘Merry Christmas’ sentiment goes to the left and not to the right hand side fold line. It is also easier to put your embellishments onto the card when it is folded into the Tee-Pee.

Sometime next week I will post a video about this card so stay tuned….

Joyful Holly & Toile Tidings

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Joyful Holly & Toile Tidings

I’m still playing with Joyful Holly 153440. The simplicity of this stamp set allows it’s self to blend with other products. Stampin’ Up! ® have this year brought back some of the popular products from last years Holiday Catalogue. One of those products is the Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper (DSP) 150432 and they have teamed it up with the Joyful Holly in this years 2020 August – January Mini Catalogue. I like this DSP last year but I did not purchase it…so this year I have.

So my card today is based on the Toile Tidings with some stamped images from the Joyful Holly.

The Toile Tidings DSP comes in 2 colours – Real Red and Very Vanilla or Garden Green and Very Vanilla. For this card I have used combinations of both colours to add contrast. I have also added mats under the two layers to give a slight break between patterns.

Measurements & Products used in this card are…

  • Real Red Card Base – 14.9 x 21cm, score at 10.5cm
  • Garden Green Mat – 14.4 x 10cm
  • Real Red DSP Mat – 14.1 x 9.7cm
  • Very Vanilla Mat – 7.2 x 11.4cm
  • Garden Green Card Front – 7 x 11.4
  • Very Vanilla Stitched Circle – 8 x 8cm, approx 6cm stitch circle
  • Very Vanilla Card Insert – 14.4 x 10cm

Christmas Gleaming Tags

November is almost over and not long now to Christmas. Tomorrow I’m hoping I can get my Hubby and son to put up the Christmas Tree and decorate it. This month has been such a busy month for me with my alterations business, lots of formals and people wanting their clothes taken up before the holidays start.

Each week on Wednesdays I am trying to do a Facebook Live at 7.30pm (AU time). I would love it if you could join me as we work our way through Stampin’ Up!® Product.

This week we looked at the Stampin’ Up! Blends and made gift tags using the Christmas Gleaming stamps.I have now edited the video and it can be found on YouTube. I will also post it here for you to watch.

I hope you enjoy my video. All the products used are listed from the Link below and can also be purchased their as well.

Wrapped in Plaid

This months Card Class we focused on the ‘Wrapped in Plaid’ Suite from the Stampin’ Up!® Holiday Catalogue. Trying out the different products in the suite and adding a few extra for some added fun.

In this class we make three cards learning different techniques or different card folds.

Card 1

This card is a very non-traditional card using Whisper White & Granny Apple Green in colour. With a little bit of Silver Metallic Thread and Shimmery White embossing powder to give it some ‘Bling”.

Card 2

Here we CASED the card from the catalogue, showing how the catalogue is a wonderful resource for card ideas and inspiration. We did make a few little changes to our card. Instead of using the Stitched Rectangles to cut the card front as in the catalogue, we used the Subtle Embossing Folder to add texture.

Card 3

This card was CASED from Lori Pinto. I found this card on Pinterest while looking for some inspiration. It’s a very simple card to make but fun to be able to make something that is not just your side opening card.

I hope you have also found some inspiration in these cards. All three of these cards were simple to make and a lot of fun.

All the products I used in these cards will be listed below and are linked to my On-Line Store. If you have any questions please contact me and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Please leave me a comment below so I know you have visited. Have a lovely day…Keep on Stampin!

Christmas is fast approaching…have you started your shopping yet?…What about your Christmas cards?

I’m starting to get mine ready now, can’t wait to the last minute. I love giving hand made cards, it makes the gift of giving so personal even something as small as a card.

Stampin’ Up!® have some amazing Christmas stamp sets and bundles in their Holiday Catalogue this year. Sometimes its hard to choose which one you want or maybe you just want them all! One that I really wanted was ‘God’s Peace” because of the Biblical message it shares.

With this card I wanted the message from Luke 2:10-11 to be the focal point, so I kept the card design very simple.

The technique used is called Resist Embossed, its not hard to do and I think looks very effective. The Message isn’t lost or over powered by the image and the image is still there.

How do you do Resist Embossed Technique?

With all the stamping I used the Stamparatus, so I could make sure I got good clean images.

  1. Stamped the Bible Verse Luke 2:10-11 or background stamp you are using.
  2. Rub Embossing Buddy over the area where image was  to be stamped
  3. Stamp image in VersaMark, and heat emboss using  Clear Stampin’ Embossing Powder. * If you embossed the image first and then stamped the verse you would have parts of the verse missing where it goes over the embossing . As the ink resists the embossing. So by stamping the verse first and then emboss you still have the verse intact.
  4. With a sponge or dauber very lightly blend colour over the top of the embossed image blending the edges out to white. The embossed image then comes to life like magic. Use a soft cloth to rub off any excess ink stilling on the surface of the embossed area.

* From here you can add all of these items to your order or remove the tick from the box of those items you don’t require.

Thank you for coming by today! We have an amazing line up of Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators and we know you are going to love all the amazing projects that you are going to see today. So you don’t miss out on anyone’s page you are currently on my page – Michele Jutrisa. A fun little Christmas Self-Closing Treat Box

A fun little Christmas Self-Closing Treat Box

I love this little box, its so simple to make and looks amazing. Its made to fit a Ferrero Rocher but you could put Jewelry in it as well.

You could have a basket of them under the tree for the visitors that call in. Or on the table as a treat for your Christmas Dinner guests.

Or make them in pretty paper for Birthdays or Wedding favors….

I have made this box using the Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper 146921 and decorated the box using the Christmas Traditions Punch Box 148030 to make the gorgeous tags.

I have a written Tutorial as well as a Video showing how to make these great little boxes.

There is an alteration in the written tutorial making the width of the Designer Series Paper a little wider to give longer tabs which are folded to form the base of the box for extra strength. If you are just going to put a Ferrero Rocher in the box then the measurements on the video are fine. If you were to put something a little heavier in the box then you will need to follow the Written Tutorial.

Thank you for taking the time to read my Blog…I hope you have fun making these cute little boxes like I did.

If you have any questions please contact me, all the products used will be below linked to my On-Line Store.

The suite comprises of the First Frost stamps and Frosted Bouquet Framelits Dies, which you can purchase together as the First Frost Bundle 149942 (w) 149943 (c). The suite also includes the Frosted Floral Specialty Designer Series Paper 147800 which is stunning, printed on shimmery white paper it gives that classical elegance that suites any occasion. As always to make life easier Stampin’ Up! have added the Frosted Floral Cardstock Pack 147754 giving you 24 sheets in 3 colours -Blackberry Bliss, Gray Granite and Tranquil Tide.

Also in the suite are Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets , Tranquil Tide ¼” Velvet Ribbon and Iridescent Boxwood Wreaths Embellishments.

The main flowers used on this card were stamped with Blackberry Bliss, the stamp itself gives the gradation of colour that you see. The Stamparatus was used to stamp the Bud image, it allows you to stamp the one image using multiples of colour. By using a daubers or a sponge I was able to coloured the area of the stamp where I wanted that colour.

See image below….

  1. Using Mint Macaron colour the stem and lower petels.
  2. Blushing Bride was sponged on the main part of flower head
  3. With Gorgeous Grape only sponge on the top of flower head.
  4. Blackberry Bliss is only on the tip…this colour is very strong, so only on the tip.
This is a beautiful suite to use and I’m sure you will enjoy playing with it as much as I do.
