Frosted Gingerbread Bundle – October Creativity Abounds Blog Hop

Welcome to Creativity Abounds Blog Hop.   We are a group of very keen Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from all around the world that are coming together to share our creative ideas with you.  We are happy that you can join us and hope that we can Inspire you to make creations of your own.

Our theme for this month is any Christmas Bundle.

This card uses the dies from the Stampin’ Up! ® Frosted Gingerbread Bundle. I wanted to show how you can use a part of the bundle to create something very different from what the bundle was intended for. With the Frosted Gingerbread Bundle you can create Gingerbread cookies and Christmas Peppermints to decorate your projects.

For my card I have used the snowflake cookie shape dies which come in 2 parts, one to cut the shape of the cookie and the other die to cut the decorative top for the cookie shape.

This card uses the dies from the Stampin' Up! ® Frosted Gingerbread Bundle

I only used the decorative die from the snow flake to make the snowflakes for my card. Placing Adhesive sheets into the back of the Basic White cardstock and then die cutting allowed me to easily adhere the snowflakes onto the basic white cardstock card front.

After covering the card front with snowflakes I went over the card front with Balmy Blue Stampin’ Pad and Blending Brush creating an ombra effect.

Be Jolly- Facebook Live Friday

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Below are all the cutting measurements plus the video showing how I Stamped, coloured and cut this card.

Measurements Used…

  • Card Base Garden Green – 10.5 x 29.9cm, score at 14.9cm

Joyful Holly

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Joyful Holly Photopolymer Stamp set

My card today uses the Stampin’ Up! ‘Joyful Holly’. This is a simple card to make, you will have fun making this for your friends and family.

The Poppy Parade card front has been stamped all over using one of the Holly images Poppy Parade Stampin’ Pad.

The Joyful Holly stamp is a 2 step stamp – one stamp gives you the out line and the other fills in the image. It is a Photopolymer stamp so you can see through the stamp to line it up. I used the Stamparatus which allows me to line everything up and stamp multiple cards.

Stamparatus $85.00 AUD

Peaceful Nativity Bundle – Theater Card

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Peaceful Nativity Bundle

In my Card Making Class today we made this wonderful ‘Theater Card’ using the Peaceful Nativity Bundle ..and we had fun!

I had seen this style of card earlier this year and loved it…but just hadn’t found the products I wanted to use for it. Then the Stampin’ Up! ® 2020 Aug- Jan Mini Catalogue came out and as soon as I saw the Peaceful Nativity Bundle I knew this was what I wanted to do. So back in August I had decided on the stamp/dies bundle and even the Designer Series Paper…Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper…..I just hadn’t made the card as yet!

Then this week I had such a busy week I just hadn’t had time to make a card and prepare before the class…So what did I do…I knew what card I wanted to make and I had a link to the instructions. So I made a quick dummy card before the class started, just to make sure I knew what I was doing and so I could be aware of any problem areas.Good thing I did …..any problems that could happen where sorted. Great!

So everyone started with some cardstock and we all made the card together. It was a lot of fun and I think everyone enjoyed it. It gave everyone a chance to see how I design a card (layout wise, as the how to make the card was already done by someone else).

The tutorial I used is by Laurence Mirman, the link to here page is below for you to see https://lolascrapetcompagnie.blogspot

Her instructions were very good and translated well with the help of Google.

The only change I made was to make the two sliding panels at the front (Screen) slightly narrower. Laurence said to cut 4 pieces 10.5 x 14.8cm – one for the back, one for the very front and two for the moving screen.I cut down the two for the screen down to 10.2 x 14.8cm. By removing those couple of millimeters meant it fitted easier through the mechanism at the back a little better.

Images….

  • The stable and trees were die cut using Soft Suede cardstock
  • Star – Gold Brushed Metallic Cardstock
  • Jesus, Mary, Joseph and animals were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with Stampin’ Blends

This is a great interactive card, starting with a closed front you pull the tabs at each side and the screen opens up to reveal the beautiful scene of the Nativity. Here’s a 5 second video showing you how the finished card works.

I love it when a card like this goes together so well ( No mess ups in the class..by me!..LOL)…Mind you next time the class will be prepared well in advance.

May you days be merry & bright…..Curvy Christmas

Good Morning and welcome again to me Blog

May you days be merry & bright

Today is a very simple card great for the beginner stamper…This card uses the Curvy Christmas Stamp set from the Curvy Celebrations.

My card uses just one stamp set, 2 colours in Cardstock, 4 Stampin’ Ink Pads and a little bit of Bling – Wink of Stella .

Products used in this card are…

  • Curvy Christmas Stamp set
  • Whisper White Cardstock
  • Sahara Sand Cardstock
  • Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Pad
  • Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Pad
  • Stazon Black
  • White Craft Ink
  • Wink of Stella

How to make this card.

  • Card Base Whisper White 14.9 x 21 cm, score at 10.5cm
  • Card Front Sahara Sand 10 x 14.4cm
  • Using the Shaded Spruce Ink  and the curvy trees..stamp 3 rows of trees off setting each one so they look like rolling hills.
  • Stamp the curvy Stars in the Misty moonlight. Here I stamped one in one direction and the turned the stamp 360° and stamped the second row of stars again offsetting the stamps a little.

**Each row of stamping is not the same so then it gives the card movement

  • Using Stazon Black Stamp the sentiment between the Trees and Stars.
  • Press some of the White Craft ink into the ink pad lid or onto an acrylic Block. Water down slightly and with a Water Painter colour in the branches on the trees.
  • Add extra water to the White Craft ink and add a few splatters
  • You can also add some splatters with the Wink of Stella.

Curvy Christmas by Stampin’ Up!….. Part 2

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Curvy Christmas…Part 2

Yesterday on my Blog I showed a card using the Sketch Challenge from Global Design Project #GDP262.Where I created my own decorative paper using Blends and alcohol on Vellum. The card was a simple card to make and I want to show that by changing the printed paper to a DSP it can be made simpler still for you to CASE.

I have used the Classic Christmas 6 x 6″ in Sahara Sand. You can purchase this DSP in November as part of the Curvy Celebrations.
