Petal Passion Memories & More from Stampin’ Up!

The Best Ever…

The Petal Passion Suite from the Occasions Catalogue includes Memories & More Cards 145592 which are perfect for cards, tags and Scrapbook pages, to preserve your memories.

I have used the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper 145589 in my page design and then used one of the cards as part of the accent of the page.

Other accents used were created with the Petal Passion Stamp Set and Petals & More Thinlits Dies Bundle 145974

To create texture I used all the papers in the collection, with different widths and lengths. The black and white helps to enhance the photo’s and allows the colour to “POP”.

The pocket page I also added a piece of the Designer Series Paper along with a Journal Box sticker and some of the same accents used on the main page. Here I have also added another card from the pack to add the details from the day.

This was a beautiful day…we went to Canberra to visit our son. We meet for lunch and then he took us to the National Arboretum Canberra.

At the Arboretum they had an amazing display of Bonsai from such a verity of trees including Gum Trees.

Hope you have enjoyed my post…I must do more Scrapbook pages to share with you.

If you are interested in learning more about memory keeping I have a Memories and More Class on the last Friday of each month.

If you have any questions please contact me.

Gold Elegance with Brusho from Stampin’ Up!

So how was this created….

    • A piece of Watercolour paper 122959 cut at 9 x 13.2 cm was attached to a firm surface with low tack painters tape, 1.5 cm in top and bottom & 2 cm in each side. Leaving a 5 x 10 cm section.
    • Spray the area with water and sprinkle** Brusho 144101, Prussian Blue and Gamboge (Orange) over the top, you may need to add extra colour e.g. Gamboge, as the Prussian Blue is an intense colour and will take over.
    • Dry by either heat gun or let it air dry. Once dried gentle remove the painters tape. You may get some bleeding around your edges or corners.
    • The watercolour paper is then adhered to a piece of Dapper Denim cardstock 141419 cut at 9.3 x 13.5cm with Multi-Purpase glue 110755. Dimensionals 104430 where place onto the back ready to adhere to card front.

Birthday Eclipse from Stampin’ Up!

Brusho is addictive!

Have you had a play with them as yet?

They can be found in Stampin’ Up!  2018 Occasions Catalogue on page 26 and if you can only purchase one product from this catalogue , then this should be it.

Brusho 144101

Oh! Also check out the great stamp sets on that page, it’s also a must.

Look….. just buy it all, you’ll get free product too! And that’s always good, RIGHT!

FREE PRODUCT!

Yep! You heard right spend $90 (AU) and you can choose a product from the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.

Not sure how them ask me…and I will help you..SPEND

Opps! I meant to say, I’ll help you place your order……

OK…lets get back to today’s fun card…

SEE!…..I told you it was a fun card.

Besides the colouring technique with Brusho, I also did the Eclipse technique..that is where you cut letters from the design and layer them to sit higher.

Instead of use single letters, I used the Happy Birthday Thinlets 143700. It was like putting together a “JIGSAW”, good thing I like doing jigsaws.

So if you like a bit of a challenge then give this card a go!

Here’s a couple of hints..

  • With the Brush dry each colour before adding the next.
  • Be careful not to loose those tiny little bits you need to glue in..I only lost one and it was the smallest
  • After cutting out Happy Birthday from card front, adhere the card front to matting layer. Place the Happy Birthday back on top and glue in all the little pieces. Making sure to lift the words so they don’t stick down.
  • Cut out 2 extra “Happy Birthday’s” and adhere on top of each other. Then attach the top colourful Happy Birthday on top.

If you have any questions then please contact me.

Below I have listed all the products used and they are linked back to my Store..

Brusho meets Petal Palette from Stampin’ Up!

From this years Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalogue, I have two favorite products…

Brusho and Petal Passion Suite by Stampin’ Up!.

I love the free form effects you can achieve with Brusho by adding water to the areas you want colour and then add the Brusho and let dry. With this technique you do need to things slowly and let each colour dry before doing the next colour.

So how did I use the Brusho..

  • With a piece of Shimmery White cardstock, clear embossed the image all over
  • Using Aqua painter add water to one bunch of flowers at a time, making sure not to get water on the leaves. Sprinkle Brusho on to the wet area, you may need to add extra water to areas missed or dried to get colour moving. Do this to all flowers.
  • When the flowers are dried brush off any excess Brusho with dry brush. Then repeat process but with the leaves – adding water and Brusho, let dry.
Card …

Card base is Night of Navy, with a layer of Old Olive and the Shimmery White adhered on top.

The Happy Birthday Sentiment comes from the Rose Wonder stamp set and stamped in Night of Navy. This was stamped onto a piece of Shimmery White cardstock and one end flagged.

A twist of Gold thread under the tag held in place with two dimensionals.

Thank you for reading, I hope you like this card and if you have any questions please contact me.

Party Animal Suite

Hi and Welcome to my Blog..

I just wanted to share with you a quick card I just made for a young Boy’s Birthday..

I meet this young man at a market I did recently and his Mum tells me he enjoys making cards.

And this year I’m trying to make cards for people for there Birthdays, so I was really pleased when he said Yes he would love to receive a card from me.

I am using products from the Animal Party Suite, its bright and fun and I think it can be used for any age group. Recently I’ve used it in my fathers card and now in this card for a teenager.

Occ17_p004a

I will also be running a class next week where we will be making this card and a couple of others…

check out my Facebook page to find out more.

Would love to see you there.

Now this card I have  made has been cased from the Occasions Catalogue. It was fun and simple to do.

Remember: Purchase the Stamp set and Thinlits together and receive a 10% discount

birthdayballoons

I have made a few little changes by adding the washi tape and not added the balloon.

A fun and simple card.

Colour INKspiration Challenge – CI04

What do you think of these colours?

Colour INKspiration has another colour challenge happening…

I love Elegant Eggplant and it look wonderful teamed with Delightful Dijon and Crushed Curry…

When making this card all I could think of was my niece, these colours were the colours of her Netball Team.

16807320_10207473138941553_4558254843195968055_nI have kept my card very simple as the image and sentiment from the stamp set “Beautiful You” are the hero’s of this card

IMAG0003

The card stock I have used to stamp on is “Shimmery White” as it works well with water colour if you didn’t want to use watercolour paper.

I stamped the image with Stazon but I may not have let it dry enough as it has bleed a little where i was concentrating the water and ink.

So if you are going to attempt this card then give your ink time to dry…don’t be impatient like me.

This this I was trying to achieve the look of movement as the image depicts freedom and dance. So I want to give the dress a look of “Shot Silk”.

Shot Silk is a fabric where 2 colours are used, each colour woven in a different direction..so that when you move another colour will appear. Sometimes you can also see this in some car colours where from one direction you will see one colour and from another direction another colour.

I painted the dress and the hat in Crush Curry using the Aqua Brush…then with the Elegant Eggplant added colour around the waist and followed the folds in the skirt and bodice. Letting the two colours blend together. Going back adding more depth of colour at the waist. the Delighful Dijon I used to add shadows on the hat and the dress – below the hair and around the hem and folds.

Hope you give this a go…

Balloon Pop-up Box

Tomorrow is my Father’s 80th Birthday…

I won’t get to see him tomorrow but I will at Easter when we head to his place to celebrate his Birthday.

So today I spent the day making him a card to pop into the mail…its running a bit late but I don’t think he will mind once he see’s it.

This is a card I saw earlier this week from another Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and I loved the “FUN” of the card.

Now I am going to write up some instructions for this card but it will have to wait until Tuesday. As they are a little complicated.

Otherwise look up “Ink Responsibly” as she has done a video on this card.

You may need to watch a couple of times and I did make a prototype before I made the card.

I have added a video below so you can see the finished product as pictures don”t show it to the best advantage.

Ballonpopupboxcard

I have used products from the Party Animal Suite…..

Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits, Party Animal Designer Series Paper, Balloon Adventures Stamps and Emerald Envy Taffeta Ribbon.

I added the Large numbers Framelits, Glimmer Paper, a strip of Vellum plus matching cardstock.

I reason behind the vellum is so you can still see the numbers and I didn’t want printed paper to take away from the balloons.

Here’s a video on the card…
