Waves of Inspiration

My Live this week I used the Waves of Inspiration from the NEW 2022-23 Annual Catalogue. This was so much fun to make…who doesn’t like to make a mess sometimes…Me!

This card uses the Emboss Resist Technique with a water colour wash to create the background. Prior to making this card i played with a few ideas on how to colour my watercolour paper and in the end came up with the best result. Some of my play pieces I have shown in the video.

You could use Shimmery White cardstock instead of the watercolour Fluid 100 but you may get a slightly different result. Anyway every time you make this card you will get different effects.

I did forget to stamp the birds on my Live and did them later, they were stamped in the Starry Sky Ink.

Be Jolly- Facebook Live Friday

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

I love this card…it took a bit of work and it turned out so well!

I made this card using the Be Jolly Stamps found in the July- December 2021 Mini Catalogue by Stampin’ Up!®

In 2016 I made a card for Global Design Project- Hey, Chick using the same layout. But instead of a chick stamped on an oval, Santa is fussy cut and sitting on a rectangle of vellum.

Below are all the cutting measurements plus the video showing how I Stamped, coloured and cut this card.

Measurements Used…

  • Card Base Garden Green – 10.5 x 29.9cm, score at 14.9cm
  • Card Front Mat Real Red- 10 x 14.4cm
  • Card Front crumb Cake- 10 x 14.9cm
  • Vellum Scrap- cut with Stitched Rectangle Die measured approx 3.5 x 8.7cm
  • Basic White Scrap to stamp Santa
  • Basic Black Scrap- smallest Taylor Made Tag Die
  • Card Insert Basic White- 10 x 14.4cm

Well Suited – Happy Birthday

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Today’s card is a simple Black, White and Gold card for you… I made this card using Handsomely Suited Stamp set from the Well Suited Suite and the Gilded Leafing Embellishment by Stampin’ Up!. This was my first play with it, keeping it really simple until i work it all out. What do you think?

Well Suited by Stampin' Up!

I used the Stamparatus to stamp the images using VersaMark. I placed the Bow Tie and the sentiment onto the Stamparatus and stamped, then moved the hinged plates down two spaces and stamped again.

Sprinkle the Heat & Stick Powder over the top, removed the excess and heat with the Heat Gun. Working quickly I dipped the card front into the Gilded Leafing and gentle pushed down. Working lightly with a piece of sponge gently brush off the excess Gilding Leaf. In areas that didn’t take with the Gilding I heated up with the Heat Gun again.

Two things to be careful of…

  • The Gilding Leaf comes in a jar, purchase a large plastic box to pour it into. You will need a box about the size of a card front or bigger and next time I may only empty half the jar not all of it…a little bit of this stuff goes a long way and there’s more in that jar than you think.
  • I found the sponge a little harsh, I’m going to get myself a Stippling brush and try. I found the Sponge was a little too harsh..you need to pounce the Gilding on. So it needs to be firm but then soft enough to bush away the excess Gilding.

This is the last Blog Hop for 2020…and this card says it all…’Thank you’. Thank you for following me, supporting me by liking, commenting and purchasing from me. This card was made for all of you. I am looking forward to next year and sharing with you all more of my projects.

Art Gallery by Stampin' Up!

This card was a bit of a mystery card card because I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out, but I am pleased with the results. I have used the Art Gallery Photopolymer Stamp Set, from the Fine Art Floral Suite Collection which you will be able to find in the 2021 Jan-Jun Mini Catalaogue.

If you would like a copy of the 2021 Mini, live in Australia & you don’t have a Demonstrator let me know HERE …I will get one to you.

Have you ever tried to stamp on ‘Black’?

You can’t stamp on black as black will absorb the colour, so you need to add a barrier between the black and the colour you want to use. Whisper White Craft Ink is the best product for this as you can stamp on top of it or colour it with water colour pencils. I recommend you use the Stamparatus when doing this technique as you need to stamp exactly in the same place. The Whisper White Craft Ink takes longer to dry so make sure that the ink is dry before stamping on top with another colour.

Can you work out what colours I used?

Can you work out what colours I used…I bet you can’t as I was even surprised how the colours I used changed so much.

  • Stems – Granny Apple Green
  • Flower – Magenta Madness
  • Flower highlights – Melon Mambo
  • Flower Center – Gold Embossed

So what do you think…a BIG difference isn’t it. I even stamped the colours a couple of times to get a brighter colour. I may have achieved a true colour if I had used water colour pencils. So if you are going to try this at home using different colours, I would suggest you do a test first.

I am still very happy with the results. This is a simple card to make and because you use the Stamparatus you could make multiples of this card easily..perfect for my December Thank You cards.

Joyful Holly

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Joyful Holly Photopolymer Stamp set

My card today uses the Stampin’ Up! ‘Joyful Holly’. This is a simple card to make, you will have fun making this for your friends and family.

The Poppy Parade card front has been stamped all over using one of the Holly images Poppy Parade Stampin’ Pad.

The Joyful Holly stamp is a 2 step stamp – one stamp gives you the out line and the other fills in the image. It is a Photopolymer stamp so you can see through the stamp to line it up. I used the Stamparatus which allows me to line everything up and stamp multiple cards.

Wildly Grateful – Demonstrator Support Program Blog Hop October 2020

Thank you for joining us for our Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Monthly Blog Hop! As you follow the hop.

I hope you find lots of ideas and inspiration. We are a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from around the world taking part in a training program helping us to build a successful Stampin’ Up!® Business and reach some of our goals. Thank you, we really appreciate your support.

Today I decided to make some customer cards for my October Customer’s & Team.

For this project I used products from Swirly Frames stamp set, Lovely You and the Small Bloom Punch.

This card is very simple using a ‘Stamping of technique or 2nd Generation’  stamping.

How to make this Card….

  • Cut a Piece of Whisper White Cardstock at 8.5 x 8.5cm
  • Using the Stamparatus stamped the circle Swirly Frame using Smoky Slate Stampin’ Pad.
  • To form the wreath- Using Just Jade Stampin’ Pad ,start on the right hand side & stamped the first leaf. Then stamped again without re-inking following the curve of the circle towards the top.(I stamped 3 times) Each time you stamp the image gets lighter and lighter – this gives you the 2nd & 3rd Generation.
  • Then repeat, this time following the bottom curve.

  • Stamp the sentiment with in the circle using the Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
  • Mat – Cut a piece of Magenta Madness cut at 9 x 9cm and adhere to the Whisper White square.
  • Card Base – Whisper White cut at 14.9 x 21cm, scored at 10.5cm
  • Adhere the stamped/ matted pieces to the card front.
  • Using the Small Bloom Punch 3 flowers where punched out for each card

and here comes the fun part….

  • With a piercing mat rub each flower in a circle motion with the large curve end of my Bone Folder to soften the paper.
  • Then take each flower and scrunch it into a ball. Gently unfold the flower, this gives your flowers some texture and dimension.
  • Adhere three flowers to the wreath with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue or a Glue Dot.
  • In the center of each flower add a Bumble Bee  Enamel Dot from the 2020-21 In Colour Enamel Dots.

Set Sail

Good Morning and Welcome today to my Blog.

It’s a beautiful morning here in Moss Vale, NSW. A lovely winters day…

In the last couple of day’s I have been working with a new stamp from Stampin’ Up! ® called Camouflage152547  and teamed it up with Sailing Home 149457.

When I saw this I new I had to get it and make a card for my son, who is in the Australian Defence Force. Not often do I find something that suits him compared to my other sons. This card is nearly all in gray as the Navy camo colours are gray with some black in it. Instead of using black I have used Night of Navy and a touch of gold because he is an Officer. So I hope he likes this card…its not a birthday or for anything special event.I just want to write him so he knows he is always in our thoughts.

Set Sail

This card has a lot of texture using the Subtles 3D Embossing Folder, torn and inked edges,  layers of die cuts from the Smooth Sailing Dies and the Stitched Shapes -Oval.

How to Stamp these Images..

When stamping this card I used the Stamparatus – Stampin’ Up! ® positioning tool as it allowed me to stamp this image a few times.

*Hint – before using the stamp clean it a couple of times with the Stampin’ Scrub and Stampin’ Mist. Being a large all over stamp I found I was getting a good clean image. Sometimes residue from the manufacturing can still be on the stamp and the small bush bristles on the Stampin’ Scrub can get in a clean them off.

The Stamparatus also enables you to stamp multiple images going down the page because of there hinged system. I had to play with NO INK to make sure I had the stamp in the correct position, when I had that sorted I could move the plate down two hinge notches and re-stamp having everything lined up just right.

The Stamparatus is one of those MUST HAVE tools.

All the Good Things

This weeks Global Design Project is a ‘Theme Challenge’ – GDP#175 and the theme is ‘Down the garden path’. To see all the projects made by the Design Team and the other entries in the GDP#175 Challenge CLICK HERE

Now I’m not much of a gardener, I pretty much tend to kill anything I try to grow. But I do like to look at lovely gardens and last year my son took my husband (his father) and myself to the National Arboretum Canberra.

While there we went and saw the National Bonsai and Penjing Collection…….it was amazing. If you are ever in Canberra it is worth the visit. And I am glad I’m not the one to look after these magnificent little gardens.

Thankfully Stampin’ Up! have a stamp that I hope I can’t kill and it doesn’t need to be watered….and reminds me of that time we spent with Hayden in Canberra.

All the Good Things by Stampin’ Up!

146558 – Clear , 146555 – Wood

How have I coloured this stamp….

Instead of using just one colour on this stamp, I have used seven colours…that’s right SEVEN colours….HOW?

First off you have to use the ‘Stamparutus’ this cannot be done with out it. Why? Because you need to go back adding one colour at a time and this is what the Stamparutus allows you to do.

Secondly, I used a Sponge Dauber to add the link to the stamp.

So what colours and where…..

  • Pot – Cajun Craze and Fresh Fig used to highlight the edges and bottom of the pot.
  • Tree Trunk – Early Espresso
  • Leaves – Old Olive, Shaded Spruce and Tranquil Tide.
  • Added Gold Shimmer Paint to leaves also..(from Holiday Catalogue)

The card base is Early Espresso, a piece of Fresh Fig – embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder and a strip of Designer Series Paper from the Nature’s Poem collection. The Stamped image was cut using the new Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies found in the Occasions Catalogue on page 28.

Also in the suite are Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets , Tranquil Tide ¼” Velvet Ribbon and Iridescent Boxwood Wreaths Embellishments.

The main flowers used on this card were stamped with Blackberry Bliss, the stamp itself gives the gradation of colour that you see. The Stamparatus was used to stamp the Bud image, it allows you to stamp the one image using multiples of colour. By using a daubers or a sponge I was able to coloured the area of the stamp where I wanted that colour.

See image below….

  1. Using Mint Macaron colour the stem and lower petels.
  2. Blushing Bride was sponged on the main part of flower head
  3. With Gorgeous Grape only sponge on the top of flower head.
  4. Blackberry Bliss is only on the tip…this colour is very strong, so only on the tip.
This is a beautiful suite to use and I’m sure you will enjoy playing with it as much as I do.
