March International Blog Highlights – Thank You

Hi and Welcome to my Blog post today

For today’s card I have used two of my favorite Stampin’ Up! ® products… the Peaceful Poppies Suite Bundle from the 2020 Mini Catalogue and the Pigment Sprinkles from the Annual Catalogue.

The Pigment Sprinkles gives you such beautiful intense colour by adding more pigment. If you don’t need to have the colour so intense use less pigment, more water and blot some of the the colour away.

I just love the colour…so it’s bright and beautiful, the way I like it.

The Peaceful Poppies Suite is……

beautiful, stunning and worth investing in if you haven’t already. This card I have used the Peaceful Moments Dies and the Painted Poppies Stamps.

In the Peaceful Poppies Suite Bundle you get everything …. and you only need to use one ordering number, too easy.

Painted Poppies Suite Bundle 153938

If you don’t want it all you can just purchase individual pieces. Just remember with purchasing the bundles you get the 10% discount.

Now I know your asking what colour combo’s did I use with the Pigment Sprinkles..

So here they are.

This the stamping of the back ground I used Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce Stampin’ Pad.

The sentiment is from the Little Ladybug Host Cling Stamp Set, which you can earn by Hosting a  “Party” with sales over $500.

The sentiment’ Thank You” was stamped in Versamark onto Basic Black cardstock and embossed with White Embossing Powder.

I have added my card to Kylie Bertucci’s International Stampin’ Up!® Blog Highlights for February Theme- Thank you.

We are a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from around the world taking part in a training program helping us to build a successful Stampin’ Up!® Business and reach some of our goals. Positive Thoughts

My card today uses the Positive Thoughts Stamps from the 2020 Mini Catalogue by Stampin’ Up!®, along with the coordinating Nature’s Thoughts Dies. The dies were released early this month as part of the Coordination Products Release. They will only be available while stocks last, if you want them order them now!

I love feathers and creating coloured feathers, so when the dies came out I had to have them. There are two dies that cut feathers, one is a frame die that cuts around the stamped image of a feather & the other is a cuts and embosses a larger feather. I have only used the embossed die for the colourful feathers on my card.

Products & Measurements used…

  •  Positive Thoughts Stamps
  • Nature’s Thoughts Dies
  • Subtle 3D Embossing Folder
  • Card Base – Basic Black Cardstock cut 21.5 x 14.5cm, scored at 10.5cm
  • Card Mat – Gorgeous Grape cut 10 x 14cm
  • Card front – Whisper White 10 x14cm
  • Card insert – Whisper White 10 x14cm
  • Half a sheet of Whisper White to create the feathers
  • Stampin’ Pads – Melon Mambo, Mango Melody, Gorgeous Grape, Coastal Cabana
  • Tuxedo Black Momento Ink
  • Bakers Twin – Whisper White

How did I make this card…

  • Card Mat – I used the Stamparatus®  to stamp the feather back ground, using the Gorgeous Grape Ink. The Stamparatus isgreat for stamping rows and getting then nice and straight. The mat then can be adhere to the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  • On the half sheet of Whisper White I sponged two sets of colours- Melon Mambo & Mango Melody, Gorgeous Grape & Coastal Cabana. Blending the two colous together Then using the die I cut the feathers out, making sure that the feathers were placed over the top where the two colours blended together.
  • Run the Whisper White for the card front through the Big Shot using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. Then run it through again, this time with the Frame from the Natures Thoughts Dies.
  • Stamp the Sentiments onto the card front using Tuxedo Black Momento Ink
  • Choose two of the feathers and adhere them down with Multipurpose Liquid Glue overlapping them slightly.
  • Wrap Bakers Twine around the card front 3 time and adhere down at the back. Make a bow and attach with a Glue Dot, at the top of the feathers. Attach the card front to the card mat with Stampin’ Dimensionals
  • Card Insert attach to the inside of the card and add another feather to the bottom right corner.Thank you for reading about my card today. It’s a simple card to make and I hope you give it ago and make one for yourself.

February International Blog Highlights – Thank You

Hi and welcome to my Blog.

INDIA

Beautiful, Bright and Vibrant

One day I’d love to go and explore India’s love of COLOUR.

For the time being I am enjoying India through the camera lens of a friend who travels to India often. Her photos are always so bright and vibrant with colour, from beautiful Blue or Turquoise doorways. To ladies dancing in the streets wearing bright Sari’s in pinks, reds, blues and greens.

There use of mosaics and intricate decorations of their forts, temples and palaces are amazing.

The colours of India are the inspiration for my card.

Making this card was a bit of an experiment.

  1. How was I going to create the back ground.
  2. I wanted to create a mosaic type image

So I tried two different techniques using the same Stampin’ Up!® Products.

Products used

How did I create this card..

Firstly, I tried Colouring the Shimmery White Cardstock using Pigment Sprinkles..Stampin’ Up!®.

**Shimmery White Cardstock is a good alternative to using Watercolour paper.

  1. Sprayed card stock with water and sprinkled both colours on, adding more water to get the colour to move and cover the area. With this technique there is more movement and deeper colour where the Pigment Sprinkles touch the cardstock.
  2. Mix Rubbing Alcohol with the Pigment Sprinkles in a Spritzer bottle and spray card stock…one colour from each side. This gave a even and brighter finish.

I love how they both turned out but the intensity of the colours used with Rubbing alcohol sprayed onto the cardstock really gave me the look I was after.

To bring back some of the Bermuda Bay into the back ground (that was lost a little when spraying the two colours), I mixed the embossing past with 2 drops of Re-Inker.

Working quickly ( as the paste drys very quick) I layered the mask on top of my card front and with a pallet Knife spread the past over the top.

I decided to create the coloured cardstock for the flourish the same way as I created the background using the Mango Melody and Melon Mambo

The sentiment “thank You, so very much” is from the Flourishing Phrases Cling-Mount Stamp Set and was embossed on Basic Black cardstock with White Embossing Powder.

All that’s left to do is put this card together..

Measurements used….

  • Card Base – Melon Mambo 21 x 14.5cm, scored at 10.5cm
  • Card Mat – Bermuda Bay 10 x 14cm
  • Card Front trimmed to 9.7 x 13.7 cm

The colours of India have truly inspired me

I have added my card to Kylie Bertucci’s International Stampin’ Up!® Blog Highlights for February Theme- Thank you.

Monthly Team Blog Hop January 2020 – Breathtaking Bouquet

Thank you for joining us for our Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Monthly Blog Hop! As you follow the hop I hope you find lots of ideas and inspiration. We are a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from around the world taking part in a training program helping us to build a successful Stampin’ Up!® Business and reach some of our goals. Thank you, we really appreciate your support.

Breathtaking Bouquet

This card was made using Stampin’ Up!® Breathtaking Bouquet Cling Stamp Set from the 2020 Mini Catalogue and Pigment Sprinkles.

Have you played with the Pigment Sprinkles? Get some …you will love playing with them.

The colours are beautiful, they can be strong and bright or soft and subtle depending on how you use them and the amount of powder you use. The effect I was working on was bright and vibrant so I used a lot of the sprinkles in a single area.

Hint…

With Pigment Sprinkles a little bit goes a long way, so I would suggest to test them out and play.

I stamped the Breathtaking Bouquet image in VersaMark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Then with the sprinkles I coloured the image only used 4 of the 6 colours in the sprinkles- Gorgeous Grape, Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green and Mango Melody. I layered the powder first and then sprayed the later trying not to get too much over spray which will blow the powder outwards.

When the watercolour paper was dry (with a heat gun) it was trimmed down to allow for double matting in Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green cardstock. I balanced the card by having a wider white boarder around the matted card front and also by adding the Whisper White 1/4″ (6.4 Mm) Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon wrapped around twice and finished with a bow.

A few Noble Peacock Rhinestones in Gorgeous Grape and Granny Apple Green add a hint of sparkle.

There is no sentiment on this card which means that this can be used for any occasion.
