Petal Passion Suite by Stampin’ Up!

Stampin’ Up! have excelled themselves with the Petal Passion Suite, all the products blend together beautifully.

The card I have made today shows three products from the Petal Passion Suite.

Petal Palette Stamp Set 145785

Petals & More Thinlits Dies 145655

Or purchase together as a bundle and save 10%..

Petal Palette Bundle 145974 (c) 145973 (w)

Petal Passion Designer Series Paper 145589

This card is similar to the one made the other day but with added elements from the petal Passion Suite.

The Petal Palette Stamp Set 145788 (c) 145785 (w) is made up of 15 rubber stamps. Seven being the beautiful imagery of plants, a bird and texture stamp, along with eight great sentiments.

The Petals & More Thinlits Dies 145655 is made up of 10 dies, 4 of which match and cut the stamped images. There is a banner Die to use with some of the sentiments and 5 dies which compliment the stamps. You can purchase the stamps and dies individually or as a bundle and save 10%. I would suggest purchasing the bundle because they are so beautiful together and I think you would regret one with out the other.

The Petal Passion designer Series Paper 14589 consists of 12 sheets (2 of each), handpainted watercolour designs in shades of black and white.

  • With the Thinlits cut out the flowers, making sure you take care with the Whisper White Cardstock. Also cut the bird image with the matching die.

  • With the large branch/leaf stamp stamp image on the Whisper White cardstock
  • Attach the Whisper White to the DSP mat and attach to the card front.

With Sympathy…

With Sympathy….

This card “With Sympathy” is a special order and a card I have enjoyed making even though its for a time of sadness.

I have used the Petal Palette Bundle 145974 for this card and the sentiment comes from Rose Wonder 140697.

The Petal Palette Bundle is available to be ordered “NOW!” from the Occasions Catalogue…if you live in Australia and would like a copy contact me and I will send you a copy,

along with the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue.

The Passion Petal Suite is probably my favorite from the catalogue..so keep a watch out as I know I will be making lots from this set.

Tags and Trimming from Stampin’ Up!

Is there a stamp set you pass over when going through the catalogue?

Is there a stamp set that because its paired up with another product you never think of using in a separate way to how it’s been shown?

Tags & Trimmings 144832 (Clear) from Stampin’ Up! is one of those sets for me.

I purchased this stamp set as a bundle with Trim your Stocking Thinlit Dies 146062 (Clear), not thinking I would use it for a card. I may have passed over it if was a stand-alone stamp set.

This set of stamps is not full of images…but rather it has individual elements that can be grouped to form an image.

I will be using Tags and Trimming to make a card for the Global Design Challenge this week –

Global Design Project 114 | Sketch Challenge

I love this very “Clean and Simple” look, and wanted to reflect this in my card.

So…

How did I do this.

For this card I have used the two Holly Leaves and the Berry stamp to make my own all over patterned paper. Which was then cut down to 6 squares measuring 2.5 x 2.5cm each, the inks used are Old Olive and Real Red.

What to remember when stamping ….
  • Keep the leaves close together but still leaving some white space. Use the berries to fill in some space that maybe a little too big. I started with a piece of Whisper White cardstock larger than what I required, 10 x 14 cm.
The next steps are…
  • After stamping the larger piece of card stock then choose an area that is 5 x 7.5 cm that you are happy with. This then gets cut down to the 6 squares.
  • Adhere your squares onto the first mat, in this case the Real Red cardstock – which again is larger than required and is trimmed down to my finished size. Its like doing a jigsaw puzzle make sure you have them in the right position before gluing down.
  • Do the same with the next mat, have this cut larger than what you need so you can trim down to the size you want.
  • Wrap some Whisper White Bakers Twine around this panel and finish of with a small bow.
  • The sentiment used comes from “Oh, What Fun” 140386 a carry-over stamp set from a previous year. This is stamped in Basic Black, just under where the panel will go.
  • Attach Whisper White card front to the Real Red mat and adhere to the card base.
  • Add dimentionals to the back of the front panel and attach to card.
  • Add a little bling with Wink of Stella to the leaves.

Hope you have enjoyed my card and I hope you give it a try. If you have any questions please contact me, I would love to hear from you.

Count My Blessings from Stampin’ Up!

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1 Thessalonians 5:18

“Count My Blessings”, this is one of those stamp sets that I looked at and said it’s not for me…

Why?

Because we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here in Australia ……   or do we!

Yes, we do celebrate “Thanksgiving” but not with turkey and all the trimming, though it does look fun.

As a Christian I thank God everyday for him being in my life and for giving me family and friends that love and support me.

The cards I have made to day will be sent by my Bible Study Group to people in our Church to let them know we are Thankful for them.

This card is a simple card to make, just two stamps from Stampin’ Up! called “Count My Blessings” 144790 (Holiday Catalogue), some inks and Very Vanilla note cards 144236.

How to make this simple card..

The flower image was stamped using Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake 126975 Stampin Pad. Then coloured in with Powder Pink 144084, Blushing Bride 131172, Pear Pizzazz 131180 and Old Olive 126953 Stampin Pads. Oh!…… and don’t forget the Blender Pen 102845. The colours were very gentle added to the flower starting with the lightest and then adding a few highlights with the darker colour. Be very careful to not overwork the area as the paper will ball, so all you need is a gentle touch.

The sentiment was stamped in Basic Black Archival 140931 Stampin’ Pad which was stamped off onto scratch paper, so then the black allowed the colour of the flower to come through.

This is probably the simplest card I have ever made…and I love it, I hope you do to.

If you have any questions please just contact me… would love to hear from you.

For my Scripture Children

Again, this year I have been teaching Scripture to great bunch of year 2 students. Robyn and I had them last year when they were still very young. This year we have seen them grow into more confident boys and girls.
On a Thursday morning we wait in the class room as the school are all gathered together in front of the “Old school building” for a quick assembly. Then we here one of the teachers say, “Thank your Scripture Teachers”. A pounding of feet and in runs the boys seeing who gets in first and gets the front seats. The girls in not as much of a rush follow on.
They all sit there and listen as I ask them about their week and start, sometimes with a game or a question relevant to the days lesson.
Not all sit there and listen, and the answers aren’t always what you hope to hear…but by the end of the year the naughtiest boy is starting to know I mean business …in a kind loving way.
And then before you know the bell rings and with shuffling of chairs, a voice calls out “Who gets the award today?” and they are running out the door just as fast as when they came in.

This week is the last time for this year and we have been given gifts to give the children. So instead of wrapping in gift paper I have made envelopes to hold the CD’s about the First Christmas and decorated with stamped images from last year’s Merry Mice (now discontinued) and coloured using Stampin’ Up! Water Colour Pencils.
So, what about next year…it may be a new group of Year 1 or 2 boys and girls…and I will miss this wonderful group, even the naughtiest one of all.

One Wild Ride from Stampin’ Up!

Even though I have a family of boys, it’s not often I make cards suitable for boys.
So, for this month’s class I purchased Stampin’ Up! stamp set “One Wild Ride” 141724.
This stamp set was designed by Dawn Griffith in celebration of her One Million Sales.
You can find this stamp set on page 37 of the Annual Catalogue.

It is a fun set and is great for the young boy to the older mature man.

The first card we made was a card I CASed from Dawn Griffith herself and it’s a fun Z- Fold card
Here is a Link to her YouTube Video…Modified Z Fold Card – One Wild Ride

With my card I changed the size of the card to suit the Australian market – Finished card size 10.5 x 14.5 cm. I also sponged the edges of the Whisper White front panel with the motor bike.

The second card we made was CASed from Tanys Boser…I love this card because it is so bright and vibrant. Again, here is a link to her YouTube Video showing how she made the card- Ghosting Technique on Glossy Paper
Because I wanted to stick to a boy theme I changed the card base to Dapper Denim…though I still think a girl would also love this.

And so, then it comes to my card

with a Gift Card pocket inside…

One Wild Ride Stamp Set 141724
Timeless Textures 140517
Best Badge Punch 140633
Whisper White Cardstock 106549
Cherry Cobbler Cardstock 121681
Dapper Denim Cardstock 141419
Basic Grey Stampin’ Pad 140932
Cherry Cobbler Stampin Pad 126966
Crumb Cake Stampin’ Pad 126975
Dapper Denim Stampin Pad 141394

Here is how I made this card...

  • Card base in Dapper Denim was cut at 10.5 x 29 cm and scored at 14.5 &23.5 cm
  • Fold and burnish score lines with the 23.5 score line folding to inside of card to form a Gift Card pocket.
  • Cut a half circle using a Circle Punch –  I used the 1 ¼” punch
  • Using Tear & Tape Adhesive along the outer edges and adhere down forming the pocket.
  • Cut 2 pieces of Whisper White cardstock at 8 x 9.5 cm & 13.5 x 9.5 cm. Also 2 pieces of Cherry Cobbler 8.3 x 9.8 & 13.8 x 9.8 as matting for both pieces of Whisper White.
  • Using Timeless Textures on Pg. 154 and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Pad stamp around the edges of both pieces of Whisper White. With the splatter stamp from One Wild Ride add texture over the smaller piece of Whisper White cardstock.
  • With Basic Gray Stampin’ Pad add the motor bike image to larger piece of Whisper White stamping to the right-hand side leaving room for the sentiment above, which is stamped in the Dapper Denim Stampin’ Pad.
  • On a scrap piece of Whisper White stamp the badge in Dapper Denim and another one in Cherry Cobbler. Punch the Dapper Denim one out using the co-ordinating Punch Pg. 206. With paper snips cut the banner out from the Cherry Cobbler Badge and using the Mini Dimensionals adhere over the Dapper Denim banner and adhere the larger Dimensionals to back of the Dapper Denim badge.
  • With the tyre track stamp and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Pad ink up the stamp and stamp off onto scratch paper to lighten the colour (my pad is very juicy and stamps very dark), then stamp on the smaller piece of Whisper White approximately 1.5 cm from left hand edge.
  • Adhere the Whisper White to the Cherry Cobbler for both pieces. Adhere the large panel to inside of card and the smaller to front of card. Attach badge to card front.

Thank you for reading my post and I hope you also enjoy making these cards…

Daisy Delight from Stampin’ Up!

Daisy’s always remind me of the country and visiting my Parents with Mum’s beautiful garden full of blooms.

Thankyou daisy1

So with this card I wanted to bring those feelings of being home in the country.

How to make this card….

  • Card base – Daffodil Delight cut 14.5 x 21 cm and scored at 10.5 cm
  • Mat – Whisper White cut at 10 x 14 cm
  • Card Front – Black and White Plaid from Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper, cut 9.7 x 13.7 cm
  • The Plaid DSP is brayed in two colours – Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point, starting with the Tempting Turquoise and then blending the Pacific Point in over the top. Attach card front to mat.
  • A piece of vellum cut at 6 x 7.5 cm and the bottom edge torn.
  • Stamp the Thank You sentiment in Basic Black just above the torn edge and adhere with snail . The daisy will cover the snail so be careful where you place the glue
  • Wrap bakers Twine a few times around the card Front and adhere with Dimentionals to Card Base.
  • Stamp 2 daisy’s on Whisper White cardstock using Smokey Slate Stampin’ Pad. Sponge the daisy’s in Daffodil Delight making it light in the center and darker towards the end of petals. I did this before punching them out. Punch out both daisy’s and adhere them together with a small amount of Multi Purpose Glue.
  • The leaves I stamped onto Whisper White cardstock in Always Artichoke and then lightly pounce a sponge over the top to colour and fussy cut out.
  • Adhere the daisy to card with a dimentional and add a Clear Faceted Gem to daisy center for that little bit of “BLING”
  • The leaves are adhered with Multi Purpose Glue and just tucked under the petals.

This is a fun card that brings back lots of happy childhood memories….
