‘Thank you’ – Dandy Garden Project Collection

My card I have to show you today is a sneak peak of whats coming……This beautiful collection won’t be available for a little while but let me wet your apatite a little!

The Dragonfly was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured using Blends – Misty Moonlight, Seaside Spray, Mango Melody and Crumb Cake. The floral images was stamped in Crumb Cake onto Crumb Cake Cardstock and the sentiment in Misty Moonlight.

With in the die cut oval is a wash of colour in Misty Moonlight and Granny Apple Green. Created using Blends onto Vellum with alcohol to help the inks blend. Watch my YouTube Video to see this piece being created.

Behind the sentiment is Misty Moonlight Ribbon and Linen Thread. The Linen Thread I have split and only used one strand out of the three, this just gives it that little bit of interest with out over powering it.

I hope this has wet your taste bubs to what is to come in the following months.

Robert is 21 – his Fun Card

Robert is 21..Woo hooo!

My son, Robert, turned 21 and we went out to dinner to celebrate on Saturday night. We went to a lovely place in Moss Vale called the ‘Southern Highlands Brewery & Taphouse’.

The ‘Taphouse’ is a old building from 1897 and was called Tooses Stores ,the old sign above the shop is still there and adds to the character of the building. The front facade is very Art Deco with beautiful glass windows.

We had a wonderful night celebrating and sharing a meal and Birthday Cake made by Lee Lee’s Cupcakes. Love the Topper she made for the cake and I had to follow that through with his Birthday Card…

My son has taken up photography as a hobby…so of course we had to have a lens or shutter theme.

How to make this card.

Using an image from Clip Art of a shutter – print to required size
Card Front Basic Black – Attached printed Clip Art to a piece of Basic Black cardstock using a re-positional adhesive.
Cut out the sections to be filled with DSP. You can do this by using a craft knife on glass. I have a video about how to cut using this method of cutting on my YouTube Channel HERE.
Using 6 x 6″ Designer Series Paper – Brights 152487, I traced out the shapes and cut out larger but making sure the inner curve was only above 2mm larger.
Each piece was adhered on the back using ‘sticky tape’ this allowed me to move them if need be…and I moved sections a lot.
Card front was then cut down to 9.7 x 14.1cm
Card mat Brushed Mettallic Cardstock – 10 x 14.4cm, adhere card front to the mat using Seal+.
Card Base Basic Black Cardstock – 10.5 x 29.8cm, scored at 10.5cm. Attach card front to card base with Multi Purpose glue.

Adhere a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet to the back of the Brushed Mettallic Cardstock.
Withe the numbers 2 & 1from the Playful Alphabet Dies 152706 run it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Peel off the backing and attach to the front of the card.
Card Insert Whisper White – 10 x 14.4cm. The sentiment comes from the Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set 148618.
Each letter colour with Stampin’ Write Markers – Brights147157 & Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker 100082 (sold separately). Breath on the inked image and stamp
Adhere the Whisper White insert into the inside of the card.

Fancy Phrases – Happy Birthday

My card today uses the Fancy Phrases Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up! ®.

I have looked at this stamp set for so long and have just kept saying to myself …”should I get it, do I need it”. Who else does this or is it just me?

I was inspired by Michelle Last and her card – Faux Fabric Cardmaking Technique

This card is a very simple card to make with just a few simple steps.

How to make this card.

Card Base – Seaside Spray 21 x 14.9cm, score at 10.5cm
Mat – Blushing Bride 10 x 14.4cm
Card front – Whisper White 9.7 x 14.1cm
Sentiment – 2cm x 10cm
10cm Seaside Spray Scalloped Linen Ribbon or 2 x 10cm lengths
On Whisper White Cardstock stamp the floral image all over using Memento Tuxedo Black.
Using Sponge Daubers and 3 Ink Pads – Blushing Bride, Seaside Spray and Pear Pizzazz colour the flowers…don’t worry about going out side the lines.
To give the card front a fabric look run it through the Stampin’ Up! ® Cut and Emboss Machine using the Subtle 3D embossing folder.
Attach card front onto the Blushing Bride mat.
Adhere the mat/cardfront to the Seaside Spray Card Base.
Stamp the sentiment onto the Whisper White strip using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
On the back of the sentiment strip adhere Tear & Tape down each side.
Cut the length of ribbon in half going down though the center of the linen strip or use 2 lengths x 10cm. Peel backing off the Tear & Tape and attach the ribbon with only the scalloped edge showing on the right side.
Attach Dimensionals to the back of the strip and attach to card front.
Colour 3 Pearl Basic Jewels with Dark Flirty Flamingo Blend and adhere to the card.
Card Insert – Blushing Bride 10 x 14.4cm, Whisper White 9.7 x 14.1cm. Adhere the Whisper White to the Blushing Bride and attach to the inside of the card.

How I Made this Card….

- Card Base – Basic Black 14.9 x 21cm, score at 10.5cm
- Mat – Brushed Metallic Cardstock 14.3 x 10 cm
- Basic Black – 9.7 x 14cm
- Plaid Tidings -14 x 8.3 cm, Using the Curvy Die cut the Plaid Tidings approx 3cm from the bottom edge.
- Adhere the bottom section to the Basic Black Cardstock with Multi-Purpose Glue.
- Using the VersaMark stamp your sentiment following the curve and emboss with White Embossing Powder.
- Using Multi-Purpose Glue adhere the top section of the Plaid Tidings to the basic Black above the sentiment.
- Adhere the Plaid Tidings & Basic Black to the Card Mat – Brushed Metallic
- Attach these 3 layers to the card base again with Multi-purpose glue or with Seal.
- On the Fluid 100 watercolour paper stamp the leaf image and heat emboss with White Embossing Powder.
- Water colour the leaves using Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and Shaded Spruce with a water painter.
- When the leaves are dry cut the leaves with the die cut from the Curvy Dies, using Black Dimensional attach to card Front.
- Colour the Rhinestone Basic Jewels with Blends Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze and Shaded Spruce

Jar of Flowers #TGIFC286 Inspiration Challenge

My card was Inspired by the TGIF Inspiration Challenge…

For this card I used the Jar of Flowers Bundle and Paper from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper.

This card has a real country farm feel with the timber boards and sunflowers. Making this card reminds me of ‘Home’ and time spent with my Grandmother in country NSW.

Colouring in is so relaxing and today it was good just to spend sometime just chilling & doing what I love…LOL!

All is Merry & Bright… using the Peace & Joy Bundle

All is Merry and Bright

This brings to mind twinkling lights and lots of tinsel and everyone happy and having a wonderful time…oh’ I LOVE Christmas!

My card today is not covered in tinsel and twinkling light but it does have the tradition colours of Christmas and the bright sparkly of gold.

For my card today I have used the Peace and Joe Bundle along with the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper, which is on SALE until the end of October. You can find the link below.

How to Make this card…

Real Red Card Base – Cut 14.9 x 21cm, scored at 10.5cm
Mossy Meadow Mat – 10 x 14.4cm
Mossy Meadow Spot Designer Series Paper (DSP)- 7.5 x 9.7cm
Strip Designer Series Paper – 7.5 x 9.7cm
Vellum – 9 x 12.5cm, die cut with Scalloped die Die No: 6 (see pic below)
Whisper White cardstock -7 x 10 cm die cut with Scalloped die Die No: 4 (see pic below)
Emboss the die cut Whisper White with the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder 152702
Brushed Metallic Cardstock – 4 x 11cm – adhere Adhesive sheet on the back before die cutting the word ‘Bright’. When peeling apart the die and Cardstock make sure you don’t loose the dot of the ‘i’…If you do then use a Rhinestone Jewel as the dot.
Whisper White Card Insert – 10 14.4cm.

How!

Using Multi-purpose glue adhere the Mossy Meadow spot DSP to the Moss Meadow mat allowing 1.5 mm around top and sides.
Adhere the DSP Strip to the bottom of the mat lining it up with the spot DSP along the sides and with 1.5mm around sides and bottom. The strips will overlap the spots.
Adhere the mat to the card front with either Seal or Multi-purpose glue
Peel the backing of the adhesive on the word ‘Bright’ carefully and attach to Whisper White Panel. Make sure that the part of the cross on the ‘T’ is attached to the panel, as in my photo above.
Turn the panel over to the back, the words that over hang are sticky from the adhesive. Pat them down with your embossing Buddy or a small amount of corn flower. This just removes the sticky.
Place dimensionals on the back of the Whisper White die cut & embossed panel and adhere onto the Vellum.
Add some Multi-purpose glue to the back of the vellum where the Whisper white covers it and glue to the card front.
On a scrao of Whisper White cardstock stamp the words ‘Merry’ & ‘And’ using Real Red Ink. Cut out by hand and adhere to card front using the Mini Dimensionals
Add some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots to your card
Attach the Whisper White Insert to the inside of the card

Joy to the World

Joy to the World

This is heading into my favorite time of the year…Where we celebrate the Birth of Christ and what JOY that brings of Salvation and Hope.

My card today I have used products from the Peace and Joy Bundle 155167. This card is a slim line card, the finished card measures 10 x 21 cm (cut 20 x21cm, score 10cm). This is a simple card to make with the only stamping on the label.

Here I used a Label die from the Stitched Nested Labels as the base for sentiment to sit on. The sentiment is ‘Joy – to the World’ and for the ‘Joy’ I used all the 3 dies from the Bundle. The beautiful Red Velvet Paper was used for the fine word die and I used the Adhesive Sheets on the back of the Red Velvet and the Whisper White die cut – to make adhering them together a breeze.

TIP – Once you have adhered all the 3 parts of ‘Joy” together place it onto of the Whisper White Label and lightly trace around it. This way you have an idea where you need to stamp. Shown here from another project made using the same Dies. The pencil line then can be rubbed away using a soft eraser.
