Ribbon of Courage from Stampin’ Up!

The Ribbon of Courage Stamp Set 143855 Clear by Stampin’ Up!  is beautiful, I love the sentiments and they are suitable for all types of cards.

You can also purchase the Support Ribbon Framelits 143749 as well which takes all the hassle of fussy cutting out of it. The Support Ribbon Framelits include not only the Ribbon and heart framelits but also have the flower and leaf Thinlits as well.

If you want to make a saving buy as a Bundle – Ribbon of Courage Clear Bundle, it also comes in Wood Mount

I have used this set in this weeks Global Design Project Challenge #105 – Colour Challenge…..

GDP105_Colour_ChallengeNow this card was started many times….with the same idea but each one wasn’t working out the way I wanted it to…(Don’t you love those days!)

  • Emboss on Shimmery White Cardstock 121717 with a water wash of the 3 colours and the ribbon water coloured using Aqua Painters
  • Embossed on Watercolour Paper with a water wash of the three colours and the ribbon water coloured using Aqua Painters
  • Stain Glass – Embossed on Vellum and coloured from the back using Blender Pens

Not happy with any of them….Ah!….. but don’t throw them away!

You never know what I could use from them…like in this case the Ribbon!

So this card has “No” water wash and Layers instead…

I like the Ribbon on the Shimmery White Cardstock, just not happy with what I did in the wash. I always seem to have trouble with colour washes. When I do do them I will do about 5 before I have one I’m happy with or its a fluke…Who else has this? I hope I’m not the only one.

Any way was really please with the ribbon and decided to cut that out using the Framelits.

I also decided to add flowers from under the ribbon but guess what……NO Peekaboo Peach Cardstock…not even a scrap (Reminder to self- Order some)

Don’t you love it when this happens…..NOT!

So what do you do improvise…I have Whisper White Cardstock and a Stampin’ Pad in Peekaboo Peach – colour the cardstock.

So that’s what I did..wiped the stamp pad over the cardstock hopping for some consistency.

Not bad, at least it worked for what I wanted.

So, that’s the story of this card and in the end I’m really happy with it.

What do you think?

I have added links below to my store with the products I used to make this card. If you have any questions please contact me, would love to hear from you.
