Fancy Phrases

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Fancy Phrases – Happy Birthday

My card today uses the Fancy Phrases Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up! ®.

I have looked at this stamp set for so long and have just kept saying to myself …”should I get it, do I need it”. Who else does this or is it just me?

I was inspired by Michelle Last and her card – Faux Fabric Cardmaking Technique

This card is a very simple card to make with just a few simple steps.

How to make this card.

  • Card Base – Seaside Spray 21 x 14.9cm, score at 10.5cm
  • Mat – Blushing Bride 10 x 14.4cm
  • Card front – Whisper White 9.7 x 14.1cm
  • Sentiment – 2cm x 10cm
  • 10cm Seaside Spray Scalloped Linen Ribbon or 2 x 10cm lengths
  • On Whisper White Cardstock stamp the floral image all over using Memento Tuxedo Black.
  • Using Sponge Daubers and 3 Ink Pads – Blushing Bride, Seaside Spray and Pear Pizzazz colour the flowers…don’t  worry about going out side the lines.
  • To give the card front a fabric look run it through the Stampin’ Up! ® Cut and Emboss Machine using the Subtle 3D embossing folder.
  • Attach card front onto the Blushing Bride mat.
  • Adhere the mat/cardfront to the Seaside Spray Card Base.
  • Stamp the sentiment onto the Whisper White strip using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
  • On the back of the sentiment strip adhere Tear & Tape down each side.
  • Cut the length of ribbon in half going down though the center of the linen strip or use 2 lengths x 10cm. Peel backing off the Tear & Tape and attach the ribbon with only the scalloped edge showing on the right side.
  • Attach Dimensionals to the back of the strip and attach to card front.
  • Colour 3 Pearl Basic Jewels with Dark Flirty Flamingo Blend and adhere to the card.
  • Card Insert – Blushing Bride 10 x 14.4cm, Whisper White 9.7 x 14.1cm. Adhere the Whisper White to the Blushing Bride and attach to the inside of the card.

Curvy Christmas by Stampin’ Up!….. Part 2

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

    Curvy Christmas…Part 2

Yesterday on my Blog I showed a card using the Sketch Challenge from Global Design Project #GDP262.Where I created my own decorative paper using Blends and alcohol on Vellum. The card was a simple card to make and I want to show that by changing the printed paper to a DSP it can be made simpler still for you to CASE.

I have used the Classic Christmas 6 x 6″ in Sahara Sand. You can purchase this DSP in November as part of the Curvy Celebrations.

Curvy Christmas – Global Design Project #GDP262.

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

    Curvy Christmas

My card today I used the Curvy Christmas Photopolymer Stamp set along with the Curvy Dies.

I have used Stampin’ Up! Blends to create my background. The colours I used were Poppy Parade and Cherry Cobbler.

The colour was added to velum and by adding Isopropyl Alcohol the colour disperses leaving this fantastic result.

The inspiration for this card comes from this weeks challenge with Global Design project #262. The team at GDP have some wonderful examples of different ways to use this Sketch. Click on the link and have a look, they are amazing.

The Curvy Christmas Stamps is part of the Curvy Celebrations that starts on the 3rd November  – 4 January.

Made with Love – Curvy Celebrations

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

    Made with Love

My card today uses the Quite Curvy Bundle, this was such a fun card to create. For this card I have used the Blends in two different ways…to colour the leaves and birds and to create the background.

The leaves and birds were coloured using Blends picking up some of the colour from the background.

    For the leaves I used
    • Granny Apple Green
    • Bermuda Bay
    • Shaded Spruce
    • Misty Moonlight
    For the Birds
    • Balmy Blue
    • Seaside Spray
    • Smoky Slate
    • Misty Moonlight
    • So Safron
    • Flirty Flamingo

    The Background..

The back ground was created also using Blends and Isopropyl Alcohol on Window Sheets.

    Colours I used were…
    • Granny Apple Green Dark
    • Misty Moonlight Dark

I have wanted to do this technique for a bout 6 months and have been unable to find any information on it. This week Zsuzsanna Balazs posted a video on YouTube showing the technique. The video is not in English but by watching carefully you can see what she has done to create this amazing background. Here is the link to her video… HERE

Tips I learnt from the video are…
    • Use 99.9% Alcohol – Diggers is 99.9%, used for cleaning hard surfaces..Glasses, computer screens etc. DO NOT USE Isocol Rubbing Alcohol, it’s only 64%. The 99.9% seams to allow the Alcohol ink to become more fluid.
    • Use the DARK Blends to get the best effects
    • Keep repeating the Ink to Window sheet until you get the look you want and allow it to dry a little between each attempt. Just be aware that what you already have on the window sheet will go fluid again when the alcohol touches it.
    • Have a clean white piece of paper close so you can place your window sheet on to see the colour.
    • Use the largest Acrylic Stamp Block
    • You will need paper towel to clean your block…remove ink from your block by spraying with the alcohol and wipe off.
    • Adhere window sheet to your card with Glue Dots, which can be hidden under embellishments. My card above I have a glue dot under the Rhinestone and it is glued under Whisper White overlay.

The Quite Curvy Bundle is part of the Curvy Celebrations that starts on the 3rd November  – 4 January.

All is Merry & Bright… using the Peace & Joy Bundle

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

    All is Merry and Bright

This brings to mind twinkling lights and lots of tinsel and everyone happy and having a wonderful time…oh’ I LOVE Christmas!

My card today is not covered in tinsel and twinkling light but it does have the tradition colours of Christmas and the bright sparkly of gold.

For my card today I have used the Peace and Joe Bundle along with the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper, which is on SALE until the end of October. You can find the link below.

    How to Make this card…

    • Real Red Card Base – Cut 14.9 x 21cm, scored at 10.5cm
    • Mossy Meadow Mat – 10 x 14.4cm
    • Mossy Meadow Spot Designer Series Paper (DSP)- 7.5 x 9.7cm
    • Strip Designer Series Paper – 7.5 x 9.7cm
    • Vellum – 9 x 12.5cm, die cut with Scalloped die Die No: 6 (see pic below)
    • Whisper White cardstock -7 x 10 cm die cut with Scalloped die Die No: 4 (see pic below)
    • Emboss the die cut Whisper White with the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder 152702
    • Brushed Metallic Cardstock – 4 x 11cm – adhere Adhesive sheet on the back before die cutting the word ‘Bright’. When peeling apart the die and Cardstock make sure you don’t loose the dot of the ‘i’…If you do then use a Rhinestone Jewel as the dot.
    • Whisper White Card Insert – 10 14.4cm.

    How!

    • Using Multi-purpose glue adhere the Mossy Meadow spot DSP to the Moss Meadow mat allowing 1.5 mm around top and sides.
    • Adhere the DSP Strip to the bottom of the mat lining it up with the spot DSP along the sides and with 1.5mm around sides and bottom. The strips will overlap the spots.
    • Adhere the mat to the card front with either Seal or Multi-purpose glue
    • Peel the backing of the adhesive on the word ‘Bright’ carefully and attach to Whisper White Panel. Make sure that the part of the cross on the ‘T’ is attached to the panel, as in my photo above.
    • Turn the panel over to the back, the words that over hang are sticky from the adhesive. Pat them down with your embossing Buddy or a small amount of corn flower. This just removes the sticky.
    • Place dimensionals on the back of the Whisper White die cut & embossed panel and adhere onto the Vellum.
    • Add some Multi-purpose glue to the back of the vellum where the Whisper white covers it and glue to the card front.
    • On a scrao of Whisper White cardstock stamp the words ‘Merry’ & ‘And’ using Real Red Ink. Cut out by hand and adhere to card front using the Mini Dimensionals
    • Add some Gold Glitter Enamel Dots to your card
    • Attach the Whisper White Insert to the inside of the card

During the Month of October Stampin’ Up! ® are having the yearly Paper Sale…and the Heartwarming Hugs is one of the 15 paper designs in the sale. So if you LOVE our amazing DSP…NOW is the time to purchase it with a 15% discount.

Wildly Grateful – Demonstrator Support Program Blog Hop October 2020

Thank you for joining us for our Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Monthly Blog Hop! As you follow the hop.

I hope you find lots of ideas and inspiration. We are a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from around the world taking part in a training program helping us to build a successful Stampin’ Up!® Business and reach some of our goals. Thank you, we really appreciate your support.

Today I decided to make some customer cards for my October Customer’s & Team.

For this project I used products from Swirly Frames stamp set, Lovely You and the Small Bloom Punch.

This card is very simple using a ‘Stamping of technique or 2nd Generation’  stamping.

    How to make this Card….

    • Cut a Piece of Whisper White Cardstock at 8.5 x 8.5cm
    • Using the Stamparatus stamped the circle Swirly Frame using Smoky Slate Stampin’ Pad.
    • To form the wreath- Using Just Jade Stampin’ Pad ,start on the right hand side & stamped the first leaf. Then stamped again without re-inking following the curve of the circle towards the top.(I stamped 3 times) Each time you stamp the image gets lighter and lighter – this gives you the 2nd & 3rd Generation.
    • Then repeat, this time following the bottom curve.

    • Stamp the sentiment with in the circle using the Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
    • Mat – Cut a piece of Magenta Madness cut at 9 x 9cm and adhere to the Whisper White square.
    • Card Base – Whisper White cut at 14.9 x 21cm, scored at 10.5cm
    • Adhere the stamped/ matted pieces to the card front.
    • Using the Small Bloom Punch 3 flowers where punched out for each card

and here comes the fun part….

    • With a piercing mat rub each flower in a circle motion with the large curve end of my Bone Folder to soften the paper.
    • Then take each flower and scrunch it into a ball. Gently unfold the flower, this gives your flowers some texture and dimension.
    • Adhere three flowers to the wreath with Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue or a Glue Dot.
    • In the center of each flower add a Bumble Bee  Enamel Dot from the 2020-21 In Colour Enamel Dots.
