Enduring Beauty – Ghost Colouring

The card I created last night on my live uses the Stampin’ Up! ® Enduring Beauty Stamps, Enduring Beauty Dies and Enduring Beauty Decorative Masks.

I’m calling this technique ‘Ghost Colouring’ as the White Craft Ink on a dark cardstock has a ghost look or a sheerness effect when applied with a Blending Brush onto a dark surface such as the Basic Black. This would also look great on Night Of Navy and Blackberry Bliss.

You can add colour on top of the White Craft Ink but it will change the shade of your colour a lot (as shown in Video, linked below)

Butterfly Wishes

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Happy New Year, I hope that no matter where you are in the world you had a Happy New Year with family and Friends. I spent New Year with my husband staying at home a good place to be at this time. We didn’t even stay up for the ‘Fireworks’ on TV….we must be getting a bit boring….LOL!

Butterfly Wishes

Today I have two cards to show you using the Stampin’ Up! ® stamp set – Butterfly Wishes. This stamp set is called a ‘Distinktive’ stamp, that is because the design is etched into the red rubber using different textures to achieve definition. This allows you to use only one colour and the stamp gives you a monochromatic image using that one colour.

Butterfly Wishes by Stampin' Up!

How to make this card…

Measurements

  • Card Base Soft Suede – 10.5 x 28.9cm, score at 14.9cm.
  • Mat Crumb Cake – 10 x 14.4 cm
  • Card Front Balmy Blue – 9.5 x 13.9cm
  • Sentiment – Very Vanilla – 8.5 x 7cm
  • Card Inset Mat – Balmy Blue – 10 x 14.4cm
  • Card Insert Very Vanilla – 9.5 x 13.9cm

Instructions

  • Using Balmy Blue Stampin’ Pad stamp the butterfly images onto the Balmy Blue card front. Starting with the large butterfly, then medium and finish with the small butterfly to fill in any spaces.
  • Run the card front through the Stampin’ Up! ® Cut & Emboss Machine using the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Adhere the card front to the Crumb cake mat.
  • Stamp the large butterfly onto the Very Vanilla cardstock, stamping off first to lighten the ink before stamping.
  • Stamp the sentiment over the top of the butterfly using Soft Suede Stampin’ Pad.
  • Die cut the sentiment using the die from the Stitched so Sweetly Dies.
  • Using the Detailed Trio Punch, punch two holes one on either side of the sentiment. With a pencil mark very lightly the half way mark on both sides of the sentiment, line up the notch on the punch to the pencil mark on the opposite side and punch. Repeat for other side.
  • Thread the vanilla ribbon from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack trough the holes on the sentiment. Add a couple of dimensionals to the back of the sentiment and attach to the card front. Take the ribbon around to the back of the matted card front and secure the ends down using Seal +.
  • Using either Seal or Multi-purpose glue adhere the matted card front to the card base.
  • Insert – Stamp a couple of the butterflies onto the Very Vanilla Insert. Adhere the Very Vanilla insert to the Balmy Blue Mat and attach to the inside of the card.

My thoughts are with you..

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

My thoughts are with you…

For today’s card I have used Stampin’ Up! ® Prized Peony stamps to create this ‘Simple & Quick’ card.

This card uses two different techniques of masking – blocking or covering an area to colour or stamp multiple images.

Technique 1 – Placing a mask with a Cut out circle to create a sponged area of colour

Technique 2 – Create a mask of the flower to stamp multiple leaf images

Click on the Link below for a step by step instructions for making this card. Including all measurements for both A4 – Metric and Letter Size – Imperial

Soap Gift Boxes

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Last week in my class we made these cute little Gift Boxes fill with a small cake of soap. These little boxes of soap make a great little gift for those times where you need something quick, for that unexpected gift

Soap Gift Boxes

You could use any Cardstock and Designer Series Paper to make Boxes with Belly Bands, here I have used Stampin’ Up! ® Peony Gardens Suite Collection.

These boxes made to the dimensions of the Soap. You could use any beautiful soap for this, the soap I used came in a box of 10 soaps – all  wrapped in cellophane. Each soap measured 5cm square with a depth of 1.8 cm. The finished size of my box is 5.5 cm square and a depth of 2 cm.

Here is a my measurement plan for cutting, scoring & folding of card stock.

Measurements Used –

  • Box – 9.5 x 17 cm, score along 9.5cm side at 2cm , 7.5cm. Score along 17cm length at 2cm, 7.5cm, 9.5cm, 15cm
  • Belly Band – 4.5 x 15 cm
  • Tag – scrap for stamp and die cut

How did I do That – Soap Gift Box Video

Watch the video where I show you how I made this basic box.

To finish these boxes I wrapped some Tulle Ribbon around the box and tie of in a bow. Stamp the small Peony image onto Whisper White cardstock using So Saffron Ink Pad. Stamp the ‘For You’ sentiment from the Beauty Abounds Stamp set. Punch a small hole and tie around center of the tulle box using bakers twine. Add Glue Dot under the bow and under tulle on the bottom of the box to hold in place.

Just Because…

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Have you signed up for my ‘Newsletter’ yet? I hope after today’s post you will consider ‘Signing Up!’.

As part of my newsletter each month I give you a FREE Tutorial that I have made just for that month. After 2 months I will then share that card on my Blog. Today’s card is one that I shared in my June Newsletter.

Just Because

For my card I have used Stampin’ Up! ® Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper and the Lovely You Bundle from the Annual Catalogue. By using the Designer Series Paper (DSP) and some simple stamping you can create quick and fun cards to share with family and friends. Here in the Southern Highlands each year in September we celebrate ‘Tulip Time’. This DSP reminds me so much of our beautiful gardens we have in the area on display.

The White Embossed sentiment from the Lovely You Stamp set is simple and beautiful. I love the use of two different fonts and ‘Just because’ can be used for so many different occasions.
