Breathtaking Bouquet

Have you started to work on a card idea and then relised you used the wrong product. Well, that happened to me yesterday. Have all week been wanting to make this card idea I had and sat down to make it and instead of using the White Embossing Powder I used the Clear Embossing Powder.

So what do you do? Throw it out and start again or go with the flow and work out what to do now. I decided to go with the flow and worked with what I had. So its different to what I was going to do and I think it looks great……What do you think, do you like it?

You may not recognise the the stamp set….this is a sneak peak to what is coming in the new Mini Catalogue. It is an all over floral design stamp and its very big, so don’t be afraid to cut it down to suite your card size.

How did I achieve this look.

Products used:

  • Breathtaking Bouquet- NEW Mini Catalogue*
  • Happy Birthday to You – NEW Sale-a-Bration*
  • Blackberry Bliss cardstock, Card Base- 14.5 x 21cm score at 10.5cm, Card front -12 x 14.5cm
  • Whisper White cardstock,  2.5 10cm, Insert 10 x 14cm
  • Clear Embossing Powder
  • Delicata Golden Glitz
  • Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Pad
  • VersaMark Ink
  • Embossing Buddy
  • Multi Purpose Glue
  • Dimensionals

* these products will be available 2nd January 2020

Tools used:

  • Stamparatus
  • Heat Gun
  • Trimmer
  • Sponge

What did I do…

  • Place Card front piece in stamparatus, position stamp of top and close plate down so stamp adheres.
  • Wipe card front with Embossing Buddy. Coat stamp with the VersaMark.
  • Sprinkle Clear Embossing Powder over the top of Card front and tip off the excess powder. Heat with heat gun until melted.
  • With a sponge lightly rub over the embossed area with the Delicata Ink- Golden Glitz. Don’t worry if the coverage is not even as this just adds to the texture. Buff card front with a tissue to remove any ink sitting on the embossing.
  • Trim the Card front down to 1o x 14cm
  • Whisper White strip stamp your sentiment in Blackbeyy Bliss, I used the Happy Birthday from the Happy Birthday to You stamps.
  • Gently swipe the edges of Whisper White strip through the Delicata Ink – Golden Glitz – You will need to let this dry before handling.
  • Adhere the card from onto Card Base with Multi Purpose Glue and the Whisper White strip with Dimensionals
  • On inside of card adhere the Whisper White Insert. If you wish you can stamp floral strip down the right hand side of insert before adhering into card. I did this by lining up the cardstock in the Stamparatus so then only the edge was stamped.

I hope you have enjoyed this card and like me, I hope you find that not all mistakes are mistakes but just another idea wanting to get onto paper.

If you have any questions please contact me. All the products except the stamp sets will be listed below and are linked to my On-Line Store.

Love & Happiness

Love and Happiness, a message of love for a young couple getting married on the weekend. It gave me so much pleasure to make this card for my Bible Study Group to give.

The stamp sets by Stampin’ Up! are Beautiful Friendship and Dandelion Wishes, they work so well together. I just love that font…don’t you!

This card I made with pages inside so there was plenty of room for everyone to leave a message. Along with a spot for the Gift Card to be slipped into.

The envelope decorated to match just finished the gift.

Wrapped in Plaid

This months Card Class we focused on the ‘Wrapped in Plaid’ Suite from the Stampin’ Up!® Holiday Catalogue. Trying out the different products in the suite and adding a few extra for some added fun.

In this class we make three cards learning different techniques or different card folds.

Card 1

This card is a very non-traditional card using Whisper White & Granny Apple Green in colour. With a little bit of Silver Metallic Thread and Shimmery White embossing powder to give it some ‘Bling”.

Card 2

Here we CASED the card from the catalogue, showing how the catalogue is a wonderful resource for card ideas and inspiration. We did make a few little changes to our card. Instead of using the Stitched Rectangles to cut the card front as in the catalogue, we used the Subtle Embossing Folder to add texture.

Card 3

This card was CASED from Lori Pinto. I found this card on Pinterest while looking for some inspiration. It’s a very simple card to make but fun to be able to make something that is not just your side opening card.

I hope you have also found some inspiration in these cards. All three of these cards were simple to make and a lot of fun.

All the products I used in these cards will be listed below and are linked to my On-Line Store. If you have any questions please contact me and I will get back to you as soon as I can. Please leave me a comment below so I know you have visited. Have a lovely day…Keep on Stampin!

You make me smile, Friend…Part 2

Thank you for visiting my Blog today. Back in October I shared with you a card I made using the Pigment Sprinkles by Stampin’ Up! Not long after making the cards I went to my 40yr School Reunion and I took with me two little presents for my best friends. I very quickly took photo’s before packing them away in my bags.

Since then I have made a video also showing how I made these cards. So today I thought I would share these with you.

The gifts I gave my friends were these lovely Key Chains, each one matched the box perfectly.

Here is the video on how I made the cards. I hope you enjoy!

Dino Days Cards

Look, at what we made in this October card class!

Aren’t these so cute….It was so much fun playing with Dino Days Suite by Stampin’ Up! Found on Page 99 in the Annual Catalogue.

Card # 1.

This Fun Fold card is simple to make. The only stamping is on the front panel and on a panel on the reverse side of the card to write on, the back panel we used the Dinorour Designer Series Paper.

You can find the instructions for this card by clicking HERE.

Card #2.

This card I CASE’ed from Sarahs Stampin Retreat found on Pinterest. This is such a cute Dino stamped in Lovely Lipstick, with Mango Melody spine onto a scrap of Whisper white cardstock. Then cut out using the matching Dino Days Dies. The Birthday sentiment is from Botanical Bliss stamp set and was embossing in White Embossing Powder onto Peacock Blue Cardstock..

Card #3.

For instructions to make this card and all products used can be found HERE

My Little Punk Rocker

Welcome to my Blog and coming with me on another Scrapbooking adventure with Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop.

Last month was the first time that I had taken part in the Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop…It was so much fun I decided to do it again.

September our Guest Designer is Sherry Roth.
She has set her theme as ‘What Little Boys Are Made Of’

My boys are all young men now, so I sifted through all my old photo’s that I haven’t scrapped and found some I really love and have been wanting to do. I think I took about 30 photo’s of my son Patrick all dressed up as a ‘Punk Rocker’ for a Joey Scout Adventure Night. He was such a character hamming it up in front of the camera and of course I have them all on ‘film’….well digital!

I wanted the page to be fun and bright. I used ‘See a Silhouette’ Designer Series Paper as my inspiration for colour. The layout idea was cased by a sketch found on Pinterest, a great resource when looking for ideas. You can then make it your own by changing direction of photos and elements. Here I changed photo size, direction and title placement.

Tips and Tricks…

My title I printed onto a piece of ‘Overhead Transparency Film’ using my computer and Ink Jet Printer. I have had this for years and I believe you can still purchase this product. One side of the sheet has a special coating which allows ink to adhere to the transparency and dries quickly.

On this page I added two rows of stitching in black thread. If you use your sewing machine for sewing fabrics as I do. Make sure you have a sewing needle for just working with paper, as the paper will dull your needle. Your needle size should be around a 60 or 70, as you want the thread to fill the hole your needle has made. Fabric will close over a little but paper once the hole is there that’s it..that’s the size you have.

Thank you for visiting my Blog, I hope you have enjoyed it. Next is Sara Levin’s Blog Page…have fun and enjoy….

It’s back to School

Welcome to my Blog…today I’m taking part in a Blog Hop with Scrapbooking Global. This is the first time I have hopped with them so this will be fun. The theme this month is ‘Back to School”

This theme is so appropriate right now as recently I have been contacted by my Class mates from 1979 in regards to us all getting together later this year. It’s so exciting as a lot of these people I haven’t seen in 40 years…WOW! ….. 40 years since finishing Year 10, that’s a long time. Going through old school photo’s & reliving memories I came across this photo taken the year before in 1978 at a Year 9 School Excursion to the Illawarra region. Posting this on our FB Group everyone one commented on this was one of the best times they remember from school. This photo was taken of our group…there were so many of us. There were approx 130 in our year and about 90 went on the trip.

For this layout I have kept it very simple with the photo being the ‘Hero’.

Thank you for visiting my Blog, I hope you have enjoyed it. Next is Cynthia’s Blog Page…have fun and enjoy….
