Joyful Holly

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Joyful Holly Photopolymer Stamp set

My card today uses the Stampin’ Up! ‘Joyful Holly’. This is a simple card to make, you will have fun making this for your friends and family.

The Poppy Parade card front has been stamped all over using one of the Holly images Poppy Parade Stampin’ Pad.

The Joyful Holly stamp is a 2 step stamp – one stamp gives you the out line and the other fills in the image. It is a Photopolymer stamp so you can see through the stamp to line it up. I used the Stamparatus which allows me to line everything up and stamp multiple cards.

Stamparatus $85.00 AUD

Peaceful Nativity Bundle – Theater Card

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Peaceful Nativity Bundle

In my Card Making Class today we made this wonderful ‘Theater Card’ using the Peaceful Nativity Bundle ..and we had fun!

I had seen this style of card earlier this year and loved it…but just hadn’t found the products I wanted to use for it. Then the Stampin’ Up! ® 2020 Aug- Jan Mini Catalogue came out and as soon as I saw the Peaceful Nativity Bundle I knew this was what I wanted to do. So back in August I had decided on the stamp/dies bundle and even the Designer Series Paper…Brightly Gleaming Specialty Designer Series Paper…..I just hadn’t made the card as yet!

Then this week I had such a busy week I just hadn’t had time to make a card and prepare before the class…So what did I do…I knew what card I wanted to make and I had a link to the instructions. So I made a quick dummy card before the class started, just to make sure I knew what I was doing and so I could be aware of any problem areas.Good thing I did …..any problems that could happen where sorted. Great!

So everyone started with some cardstock and we all made the card together. It was a lot of fun and I think everyone enjoyed it. It gave everyone a chance to see how I design a card (layout wise, as the how to make the card was already done by someone else).

The tutorial I used is by Laurence Mirman, the link to here page is below for you to see https://lolascrapetcompagnie.blogspot

Her instructions were very good and translated well with the help of Google.

The only change I made was to make the two sliding panels at the front (Screen) slightly narrower. Laurence said to cut 4 pieces 10.5 x 14.8cm – one for the back, one for the very front and two for the moving screen.I cut down the two for the screen down to 10.2 x 14.8cm. By removing those couple of millimeters meant it fitted easier through the mechanism at the back a little better.

Images….

  • The stable and trees were die cut using Soft Suede cardstock
  • Star – Gold Brushed Metallic Cardstock
  • Jesus, Mary, Joseph and animals were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with Stampin’ Blends

This is a great interactive card, starting with a closed front you pull the tabs at each side and the screen opens up to reveal the beautiful scene of the Nativity. Here’s a 5 second video showing you how the finished card works.

I love it when a card like this goes together so well ( No mess ups in the class..by me!..LOL)…Mind you next time the class will be prepared well in advance.

On Stage at Home…

What is ‘On Stage at Home’…

Each year Stampin’ Up! ® run an event where we can all get together…We learn about new products, we get to play with some of them and hear about new Catalogues. We get recognised  for all our effort in running our business each year. It’s also a wonderful time to make new friends and catch up with those we chat to all the time of Social media. It’s the one time of year I look forward to …

But this year everything has changed…

Pat Benatar

We can no longer meet all together..(hoping next Year 2021 we will all be together again) So Stampin’ Up! held a virtual event and it was fantastic…It was like ‘WOW’… OK, so I wasn’t with my friends but we still chatted via FB, messenger and even the chatroom that Stampin’ Up! had running for the day.  We were entertained by Pat Benatar, watched other Demo’s showing how they have used the new products and even made some cards ourselves.

Cards we made using the Dandy Garden Collection from the 2021 Jan-Jun Mini

You my friends are going to love the new 2021 Jan- Jun Mini Catalogue, it is divine and the products are amazing..I can’t wait to share them with you.

If you live in Australia and you don’t have a Demo…let me know and I will send you a catalogue in December (I think I should have them by then).

Think about joining my team and next year you can come with me to On Stage in Sydney….I’d love to have you be a part of the FUN!

Just a little recognition I received

Free as a Bird – Hello

Hello….

Wouldn’t it be nice to send or receive a card for no reason except to say ‘Hello’? Sometimes we can get so caught up in our own little world that we can forget to say hello to those around us and even those who live far away from us. Sometimes I love to make a card like this to send to my sister in England just so I can let her know I’m thinking of her.Who can you send a card to?

What did I use…..

  •  Free as a Bird Stamp Set. It is a line drawn stamp, perfect for colouring in what ever medium you prefer to use.
  •  Stampin’ Up! ® Blends in colours – Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Seaside Spray, Magenta Madness, Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie and Crumb Cake.
  • The 2nd largest circle die from the Stitched Shaped Dies with the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.
  • Whisper White cardstock which was embossed with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder
  • Designer Series Paper Brights 6 x6″ (15.2 x 15.2cm) paper collection.
  • lace edging die from the Ornate Boarders Dies
  • Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon tucked in underneath the circle die

I love how this card turned out. Its bright and cheerful, it was a lot of fun to make and it will be fun to give it away. Would you love to receive this card? First to comment below …WINS!

Bloom & Grow -Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Support Program Blog Hop November 2020

Thank you for joining us for our Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Monthly Blog Hop! As you follow the hop.

I hope you find lots of ideas and inspiration. We are a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from around the world taking part in a training program helping us to build a successful Stampin’ Up!® Business and reach some of our goals. Thank you, we really appreciate your support.

Our theme is ‘Thank You’ to our wonderful customers for supporting our Stampin’ Up! business.

For this project I used Boom & Grow Stamp set and paired it up with the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper.

This is a very simple and quick card to make if your wanting to make a number of cards.

The In Good Taste Designer Series Paper is a patterned paper and gives a great base to work from. Stampin’ Up! ® have used textures in this range of DSP rather than patterns like timbers, tiles, fabrics and ‘Gesso’ such as I have used in my card today. This allows you to stamp on the paper easily to add extra texture.

How to make this card…

  • Card Base Thick Whisper White Cardstock – 21 x 14.9cm, score at 10.5cm
  • Mat  Rococo Rose – 9.8 x 14.2cm
  • Card Front DSP – 9.5 x 13.9cm
  • Whisper White – 10.5 x 14.9cm

  • Card Front DSP – Stamp the sentiment randomly over the DSP making sure to stamp off onto scrap paper to start with. This is called ‘Second Generation Stamping’ because your not using full strength ink.
  • Adhere the DSP to the Rococo Rose Mat using either Seal or Multi Purpose Glue.
  • Attach the mat to the Whisper White Thick card base with either Seal or Multi Purpose Glue.
  • On to the Whisper White cardstock stamp the flowers in Memento Tuxedo Black  and stamp the sentiment in full strength ink – Rococo Rose.
  • Colour the flowers using Sponge Daubers don’t worrying about staying in the lines. Colours used were – Rococo Rose, Purple Posy, Gorgeous Grape, Daffodil Delight and Granny Apple Green. Pounce the colour lightly onto the flower then go back and darker the centers. With the Purple Posy Flower I went back and added Gorgeous Grape in the center. Use the edge of the Daubers to colour the leaves. I added a little Rococo Rose onto the buds.
  • Die cut your flowers with the coordinating dies – Budding Blooms.
  • Cut 2 x 12cm lengths of Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon, place one on top of the other & tie a knot in the middle. Cut all the ends at an angle.
  • Using the Everyday Label Punch, punch out the sentiment.Using the Sponge Dauber sponge around the label to soften the edges. Adhere the Label to your card front using Seal.
  • Add a glue dot onto the ribbon knot and attach to the back of the die cut flowers. Place dimensionals on the back of the flowers and adhere to the card front.

Dandy Garden Project Collection – International Blog Highlights November 2020

Hi and welcome to my Blog.

‘Thank you’ – Dandy Garden Project Collection

My card I have to show you today is a sneak peak of whats coming……This beautiful collection won’t be available for a little while but let me wet your apatite a little!

The Dragonfly was stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured using Blends – Misty Moonlight, Seaside Spray, Mango Melody and Crumb Cake. The floral images was stamped in Crumb Cake onto Crumb Cake Cardstock and the sentiment in Misty Moonlight.

With in the die cut oval is a wash of colour in Misty Moonlight and Granny Apple Green. Created using Blends onto Vellum with alcohol to help the inks blend. Watch my YouTube Video to see this piece being created.

Behind the sentiment is Misty Moonlight Ribbon and Linen Thread. The Linen Thread I have split and only used one strand out of the three, this just gives it that little bit of interest with out over powering it.

I hope this has wet your taste bubs to what is to come in the following months.

Robert is 21 – his Fun Card

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Robert is 21..Woo hooo!

My son, Robert, turned 21 and we went out to dinner to celebrate on Saturday night. We went to a lovely place in Moss Vale called the ‘Southern Highlands Brewery & Taphouse’.

The ‘Taphouse’ is a old building from 1897 and was called Tooses Stores ,the old sign above the shop is still there and adds to the character of the building. The front facade is very Art Deco with beautiful glass windows.

We had a wonderful night celebrating and sharing a meal and Birthday Cake made by Lee Lee’s Cupcakes. Love the Topper she made for the cake and I had to follow that through with his Birthday Card…

My son has taken up photography as a hobby…so of course we had to have a lens or shutter theme.

How to make this card.

  • Using an image from Clip Art of a shutter – print to required size
  • Card Front Basic Black – Attached printed Clip Art to a piece of Basic Black cardstock using a re-positional adhesive.
  • Cut out the sections to be filled with DSP. You can do this by using  a craft knife on glass. I have a video about how to cut using this method of cutting on my YouTube Channel HERE.
  • Using 6 x 6″ Designer Series Paper – Brights 152487, I traced out the shapes and cut out larger but making sure the inner curve was only above 2mm larger.
  • Each piece was adhered on the back using ‘sticky tape’ this allowed me to move them if need be…and I moved sections a lot.
  • Card front was then cut down to 9.7 x 14.1cm
  • Card mat Brushed Mettallic Cardstock – 10 x 14.4cm, adhere card front to the mat using Seal+.
  • Card Base Basic Black Cardstock – 10.5 x 29.8cm, scored at 10.5cm. Attach card front to card base with Multi Purpose glue.

  • Adhere a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet to the back of the Brushed Mettallic Cardstock.
  • Withe the numbers 2 & 1from the Playful Alphabet Dies 152706 run it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Peel off the backing and attach to the front of the card.
  • Card Insert Whisper White – 10 x 14.4cm. The sentiment comes from the Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set 148618.
  • Each letter colour with Stampin’ Write Markers – Brights147157 & Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker 100082 (sold separately). Breath on the inked image and stamp
  • Adhere the Whisper White insert into the inside of the card.

Robert loved his card….
