Hi and welcome to my Blog today..

Today I am taking part in the ‘Ink & Inspiration’ Blog Hop. This is my first time hopping with this amazing group of people..So my friends, I hope you will enjoy the ride with me as we travel around the hop seeing what everyone has to show.

The Theme for this month is Sweet Suite…This theme is to highlight a suite of your choice from any current publication.

For my card I have chosen to use the Expressions in Ink Suite …. in the current 2021-22 Annual Catalogue I think this is my favorite (but this can change)..LOL!

This card just evolved…it started with nice straight cut edges and then I decided to add some stitching to it and I had some gold thread so why not. But then my edges looked too straight and tidy…I would normally suggest to tear before sewing but as I said it just evolved…

The leaf die cut was cut from one of the Pear Pizzazz Expressions in Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper. It was added onto the matted layers and then the 3 layers stitched together, so the stitching holds down the die cut leaf.

The roses were stamped in Poppy Parade, Bumble Bee and Fresh Freesia and the leaves stamped in Pear Pizzazz and Evening Evergreen.

The completed card ended up having a very shabby look. Maybe a bit different from where I started in the beginning, but I am really happy with it. Sometimes it works to let your project to take you on a journey…

Handsomely Suited – RFS Card

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

My son turns 26th Birthday this month and I used the Stampin’ Up! Handsomely Suited Bundle to create this card for him. He has been in the Rural Fire Service since he was 15, joining as a Youth Member.

To explain our guys do not wear ‘Red Suspenders’ with their uniform but when my son joined he had to have the ‘Red Suspenders’…so they just HAD to go on his card.

This is a fun card and when you look through Pinterest you will find some really fun uses of these Dies. Here are some examples that I found on Pinterest tonight.

Using the Stamparatus I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment onto the card Insert, moving the plate down and doing 2nd,3rd,4th generation stamping.

Butterfly Bouquet

Here is a very simple card to make using the Butterfly Bouquet by Stampin’ Up! ®. The Designer Series Paper fills the back ground with a simple sentiment and a Butterfly cut from the Rainbow Glimmer Paper.

How to Make..

Measurement used-

Card Base Bermuda Bay – 10.5 x29.9cm, score at 14.9cm
Mat Melon Mambo – 10 x 14.4cm
Card Front Butterfly Bijou Designer Series Paper – 9.7 x 14.1cm
Sentiment Panel Basic White – 7 x 10cm, cut with Stitched Rectangles Dies.
Butterfly cut from Rainbow Glimmer Paper
Card Insert Basic White – 10 x 14.9cm

Instructions-

Cut and score all cardstock
Adhere the Designer Series Paper to the Melon Mambo Mat
Attach the matted Designer Series Paper to the Bermuda Bay card base.
Die cut the Basic White and stamp the sentiment along the bottom.
Die cut a Butterfly using the Brilliant Wings Dies in the Rainbow Glimmer Paper.
Adhere the Butterfly onto the Basic White using Multi-pupose down the center of the butterfly.
Place dimensionals on the back of the sentiment panel and adhere to the from of the card.
Adhere the Insert into the inside of the card.

Enjoy the Moment

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

My card today uses the Stampin’ Up! ® Enjoy the Moment Stamp Set from the 2021 Jan-Jun Mini Catalogue. This is not a stamp set I would have picked myself but as a demonstrator Stampin’ Up! ® gave us this set at our last On Stage Event (for Demo’s – one of the great perks you get when you Join.)

I wanted these card to have a rustic earthy feel, so for one card I used green tones and the other yellows.

Well Suited – Happy Birthday

Today’s card is a simple Black, White and Gold card for you… I made this card using Handsomely Suited Stamp set from the Well Suited Suite and the Gilded Leafing Embellishment by Stampin’ Up!. This was my first play with it, keeping it really simple until i work it all out. What do you think?

I used the Stamparatus to stamp the images using VersaMark. I placed the Bow Tie and the sentiment onto the Stamparatus and stamped, then moved the hinged plates down two spaces and stamped again.

Sprinkle the Heat & Stick Powder over the top, removed the excess and heat with the Heat Gun. Working quickly I dipped the card front into the Gilded Leafing and gentle pushed down. Working lightly with a piece of sponge gently brush off the excess Gilding Leaf. In areas that didn’t take with the Gilding I heated up with the Heat Gun again.

Two things to be careful of…

The Gilding Leaf comes in a jar, purchase a large plastic box to pour it into. You will need a box about the size of a card front or bigger and next time I may only empty half the jar not all of it…a little bit of this stuff goes a long way and there’s more in that jar than you think.
I found the sponge a little harsh, I’m going to get myself a Stippling brush and try. I found the Sponge was a little too harsh..you need to pounce the Gilding on. So it needs to be firm but then soft enough to bush away the excess Gilding.

Moving Along- Its Your Day

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Today’s card I created this great little scene of clouds, hills and a train rolling along. I’m sure any boy big or small would love this card. The stamp set I used for this card is the Moving Along Photopolmer Stamps by Stampin’ Up! ®.

The background was created using masking with a torn piece of paper and the NEW Stampin’ Up! ® Blending Brushes. These Blending Brushes are a must have in your colouring tool kit. They are made of hundreds of very fine soft bristles and is so easy to work with. They come in 3 in a pack…get 2 packs and have one for each colour family – Yellows, reds, blues and greens.

They are easy to clean with just a damp paper towel or cloth to rub them on to remove the colour. Sometimes if these is a lot of ink on them I run them through the water (but I don’t soak them) and then just use a paper towel to remove the excess water, stand in a cup and let them dry.

Well Suited Suite

I created this card as a Three Fold card. I wanted to be able to open the card showing the shirt inside and then open again having a place to write.

Robert is 21 – his Fun Card

Robert is 21..Woo hooo!

My son, Robert, turned 21 and we went out to dinner to celebrate on Saturday night. We went to a lovely place in Moss Vale called the ‘Southern Highlands Brewery & Taphouse’.

The ‘Taphouse’ is a old building from 1897 and was called Tooses Stores ,the old sign above the shop is still there and adds to the character of the building. The front facade is very Art Deco with beautiful glass windows.

We had a wonderful night celebrating and sharing a meal and Birthday Cake made by Lee Lee’s Cupcakes. Love the Topper she made for the cake and I had to follow that through with his Birthday Card…

My son has taken up photography as a hobby…so of course we had to have a lens or shutter theme.

How to make this card.

Using an image from Clip Art of a shutter – print to required size
Card Front Basic Black – Attached printed Clip Art to a piece of Basic Black cardstock using a re-positional adhesive.
Cut out the sections to be filled with DSP. You can do this by using a craft knife on glass. I have a video about how to cut using this method of cutting on my YouTube Channel HERE.
Using 6 x 6″ Designer Series Paper – Brights 152487, I traced out the shapes and cut out larger but making sure the inner curve was only above 2mm larger.
Each piece was adhered on the back using ‘sticky tape’ this allowed me to move them if need be…and I moved sections a lot.
Card front was then cut down to 9.7 x 14.1cm
Card mat Brushed Mettallic Cardstock – 10 x 14.4cm, adhere card front to the mat using Seal+.
Card Base Basic Black Cardstock – 10.5 x 29.8cm, scored at 10.5cm. Attach card front to card base with Multi Purpose glue.

Adhere a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet to the back of the Brushed Mettallic Cardstock.
Withe the numbers 2 & 1from the Playful Alphabet Dies 152706 run it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Peel off the backing and attach to the front of the card.
Card Insert Whisper White – 10 x 14.4cm. The sentiment comes from the Itty Bitty Birthdays Stamp Set 148618.
Each letter colour with Stampin’ Write Markers – Brights147157 & Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker 100082 (sold separately). Breath on the inked image and stamp
Adhere the Whisper White insert into the inside of the card.

FUN, FUN, FUN!…..That’s what these cards sing out to me.

This card uses the Playful Alphabet Dies and the colourful Brights 6 x 6″ Designer Series Paper.

In making one card you end up with 2 because the negative spaces taken from one card made the second card…

Products used in this card are…

Layering Circle Dies
6 x6″ Designer Series Paper – Brights
Well Said Stamp Set
Basic Black Cardstock
Whisper White Cardstock
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad

How to make these cards.

2 x Card Base Basic Black – 10.5 x 29.8cm, score 14.9cm
Whisper White Cardstock – 10.5 cm x 14.9 cm
Designer Series Paper (DSP) – Cut 2 strips of each colour 1cm wide.
Using Multi Purpose glue adhere each strip of DSP to the Whisper White Cardstock.
When dry trim the the stripped piece down to 10 x 14.4cm.
Place the 2nd largest circle die onto the stripped cardstock piece and adhered down with Washi tape or post-it note tape.
Using the Playful Alphabet lay the letters to spell ‘HAPPY’ with in the circle die. When happy with your lay out adhere down with Washi or Post-t note tape.

Once you are happy with where everything is placed. Run it through the Cut & Embossed Machine.

Card 1

Adhere the card front to the Basic Black Cardbase.
Position the letters to form ‘HAPPY’ and glue into pace using Multi purpose Glue.
On a scrap of Whisper White cardstock stamp ‘BIRTHDAY’ using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad. Trim down and adhere to the card front with dimensionals
Card Insert – Whisper White 10 x 14.4 cm, 1.5cm x 10cm
Using any off cuts from the strips (or cut More like I did) adhere them to the Whisper White 1.5cm strip & trim
Basic Black strip 1.8 x 10cm
Adhere the DSP Strip to the Basic black , plush along the bottom edge, leaving a 3mm strip of Black along the top
Adhere the finished strip to the bottom of the Whisper White Card insert and attach the insert to the inside of the card.

Card 2

Card Mat – Basic Black 10 x 14.4cm
Adhere the Circle to the card Mat using Multi Purpose Glue – Don’t forget the little pieces in the ‘A, P, P’
Using Black Dimensionals, attach the mat to the Card Base
On a scrap of Whisper White cardstock stamp ‘BIRTHDAY’ using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad. Trim down and adhere to the card front with dimensionals
Card Insert – Whisper White 10 x 14.4 cm, 1.5cm x 10cm
Using any off cuts from the strips (or cut More like I did) adhere them to the Whisper White 1.5cm strip & trim
Basic Black strip 1.8 x 10cm
Adhere the DSP Strip to the Basic black , plush along the bottom edge, leaving a 3mm strip of Black along the top
Adhere the finished strip to the bottom of the Whisper White Card insert and attach the insert to the inside of the card.
