Honeybee Home Bundle

Today on Live with Michele I created this card using the Honeybee Home Bundle. Along with the other products from the Heart & Home Suite.

The flowers were coloured using Stampin’ Up! Blends Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Mint Macron, Just Jade, So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Bally Blue, Smoky Slate and Basic Black. The flower spray was then die cut and layered on top of the Vellum leaf. The Vellum Leaf was die cut from a die from the Meadow Dies.

The video below shows how the card was created. 2/3rds through the video my phone went flat…I was able to change phones and complete the card….Lesson learnt, make sure phones are charged.

Measurements Used…

  • Card Base Misty Moonlight: 10.4 x 29.9cm, score at 14.9cm
  • Card Mat Fresh Freesia: 10 x 14.4cm

Be Jolly- Facebook Live Friday

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

I love this card…it took a bit of work and it turned out so well!

I made this card using the Be Jolly Stamps found in the July- December 2021 Mini Catalogue by Stampin’ Up!®

In 2016 I made a card for Global Design Project- Hey, Chick using the same layout. But instead of a chick stamped on an oval, Santa is fussy cut and sitting on a rectangle of vellum.

Below are all the cutting measurements plus the video showing how I Stamped, coloured and cut this card.

Measurements Used…

  • Card Base Garden Green – 10.5 x 29.9cm, score at 14.9cm
  • Card Front Mat Real Red- 10 x 14.4cm
  • Card Front crumb Cake- 10 x 14.9cm
  • Vellum Scrap- cut with Stitched Rectangle Die measured approx 3.5 x 8.7cm

Our them this month is MASCULINE…I am a mother of 4 boys and I always have trouble making cards for them. So this has been a good challenge to come up with a masculine card.

Sailing Home by Stampin' Up! Coloured using Blending Brushes and masking

For this card I used the Sailing Home Stamp set and coordinating dies Smooth Sailing. The ocean was created by masking with a torn piece of paper and using the Blending Brushes to create waves. To create the sun I made a mask by cutting a circle using the Layering Circle Dies and brushing the colour on.

After creating the background I stamped on the sailing boat image using Memento Black Ink and coloured it in with Blends- Soft Suede and Poppy Parade

Dandy Garden Suite

This month our Creativity Abounds is featuring the Dandy Gardens Suite from the Stampin’ Up! 2021 Jan-Jun Mini. For my card I have used the stamps from both of the stamp sets – Garden Wishes and the Dragon Fly Garden.

Dandy Garden by Stampin' Up!

All the stamped images were stamped in Blackberry Bliss and coloured using the Stampin’ Blends. Because the Stampin’ Pads are water based inks you can use them instead of the Memento Tuxedo Black and they won’t bleed.

The Blends colours used are –

  • Mossy Meadow -Light & Dark
  • So Saffron -Light
  • Daffodil Delight -Dark
  • Mango Melody -Light
  • Calypso Coral -Light & Dark

I used the NEW Stampin’ Up! Blending Brushes to blend Smoky Slate and Blackberry Bliss ink around the edges of the Whisper White cardstock and on the sentiment piece as well.

Free as a Bird – Hello

Hello….

Wouldn’t it be nice to send or receive a card for no reason except to say ‘Hello’? Sometimes we can get so caught up in our own little world that we can forget to say hello to those around us and even those who live far away from us. Sometimes I love to make a card like this to send to my sister in England just so I can let her know I’m thinking of her.Who can you send a card to?

What did I use…..

  •  Free as a Bird Stamp Set. It is a line drawn stamp, perfect for colouring in what ever medium you prefer to use.
  •  Stampin’ Up! ® Blends in colours – Daffodil Delight, So Saffron, Seaside Spray, Magenta Madness, Granny Apple Green, Pumpkin Pie and Crumb Cake.
  • The 2nd largest circle die from the Stitched Shaped Dies with the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine.
  • Whisper White cardstock which was embossed with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder
  • Designer Series Paper Brights 6 x6″ (15.2 x 15.2cm) paper collection.
  • lace edging die from the Ornate Boarders Dies
  • Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon tucked in underneath the circle die

I love how this card turned out. Its bright and cheerful, it was a lot of fun to make and it will be fun to give it away. Would you love to receive this card? First to comment below …WINS!

Quite Curvy – Happy Birthday

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Quite Curvy – Happy Birthday

This card was inspired by the Blends/Vellum back ground I created a week ago. It is so soft and cloud like that I had to use it with the Quite Curvy Bundle ‘Birds’. I love colouring these little guys.

The colours I used in my back ground are Flirty Flamingo and Seaside Spray, so I used the same colours for the flowers and the sentiments. The birds I also used these colours and added So Saffron, Misty Moonlight and Smoky Slate. The greenery I used Just Jade and Mint Macaron.

Don’t forget this amazing Bundle will be available to order on the 3rd November – 4th January

Curvy Christmas – Global Design Project #GDP262.

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Curvy Christmas

My card today I used the Curvy Christmas Photopolymer Stamp set along with the Curvy Dies.

I have used Stampin’ Up! Blends to create my background. The colours I used were Poppy Parade and Cherry Cobbler.

The colour was added to velum and by adding Isopropyl Alcohol the colour disperses leaving this fantastic result.

The inspiration for this card comes from this weeks challenge with Global Design project #262. The team at GDP have some wonderful examples of different ways to use this Sketch. Click on the link and have a look, they are amazing.

The Curvy Christmas Stamps is part of the Curvy Celebrations that starts on the 3rd November  – 4 January.

Made with Love – Curvy Celebrations

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Made with Love

My card today uses the Quite Curvy Bundle, this was such a fun card to create. For this card I have used the Blends in two different ways…to colour the leaves and birds and to create the background.

The leaves and birds were coloured using Blends picking up some of the colour from the background.

For the leaves I used
  • Granny Apple Green
  • Bermuda Bay
  • Shaded Spruce
  • Misty Moonlight
For the Birds
  • Balmy Blue
  • Seaside Spray
  • Smoky Slate
  • Misty Moonlight
  • So Safron
  • Flirty Flamingo

The Background..

The back ground was created also using Blends and Isopropyl Alcohol on Window Sheets.

Colours I used were…
  • Granny Apple Green Dark
  • Misty Moonlight Dark

I have wanted to do this technique for a bout 6 months and have been unable to find any information on it. This week Zsuzsanna Balazs posted a video on YouTube showing the technique. The video is not in English but by watching carefully you can see what she has done to create this amazing background. Here is the link to her video… HERE

Tips I learnt from the video are…
  • Use 99.9% Alcohol – Diggers is 99.9%, used for cleaning hard surfaces..Glasses, computer screens etc. DO NOT USE Isocol Rubbing Alcohol, it’s only 64%. The 99.9% seams to allow the Alcohol ink to become more fluid.
  • Use the DARK Blends to get the best effects
  • Keep repeating the Ink to Window sheet until you get the look you want and allow it to dry a little between each attempt. Just be aware that what you already have on the window sheet will go fluid again when the alcohol touches it.
  • Have a clean white piece of paper close so you can place your window sheet on to see the colour.
  • Use the largest Acrylic Stamp Block
  • You will need paper towel to clean your block…remove ink from your block by spraying with the alcohol and wipe off.
  • Adhere window sheet to your card with Glue Dots, which can be hidden under embellishments. My card above I have a glue dot under the Rhinestone and it is glued under Whisper White overlay.

Peony Gardens and Blends

Welcome to another Blog post on this chilly but beautiful Saturday Morning.

Peony Gardens and Blends

Approximately two weeks ago I showed you a card using the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper where I just coloured the back ground of the paper. I was enjoying the relaxation of just colouring in that I did another, this time adding more colours. It has sat on my desk for a few days and last night I finally made it into a card.

The Blends are wonderful for colouring in as they don’t leave that line on your work that markers can leave.

The colours I have used are…

The Measurements I used are…

  • Card Base, Basic Black – 10.5 x 29.8cm, scored 14.9cm
  • Mat, DSP – 14.47 x 10cm
  • Mat, Basic Black – 8 x 12.4cm
  • Card Front, DSP – 10 x 15cm and trimmed down to 7.7 x 12.1cm

Inside the card I added a sheet of Whisper White Cardstock 10 x 14.4cm, and added a strip of DSP that I had trimmed off.

Here’s a Tip….

They are sometimes a little forgotten but use the Black Combo pack of Dimensionals. I used the mini ones under my sentiment and the larger ones under the Basic Back Mat. Great to have when using darker colours in your cardstock. Always worth while having a pack handy.
