Thankful Garden part 2

On yesterday’s ‘Live with Michele’ I created this card using the Thankful Garden Bundle by Stampin’ Up! ® from the Online Exclusives.

In last weeks live we used the Masks from the bundle to colour the Hydrangeas. This week we are using the other flower image and I used the Stampin’ Blends to colour with.

All the details for the colouring is shown on the YouTube Video posted below.

Thankful Garden

On yesterday’s ‘Live with Michele’ I created this card using the Thankful Garden and Painted Strips by Stampin’ Up! ®.

Hydrangeas are one of my favorite flowers and come in colours that are soft and subtle to deep and dark…all depending on your soil type.

I created this card using Basic Beige instead of white to give a more earthy tone.

Check out the video below for how I created this card.

Tips

  • Let the Ink dry after stamping the strips, this is a wide strip stamp so there is a lot of ink. When dry the colour will soften.
  • Take your stencils down so they don’t move on you
  • When colouring with your blending brushes work lightly, you can always add more ink but you can’t take it away.
  • The softer or lighter in colour your ink to stamp the out line image the softer and natural your completed image will be.
  • Play with different colour combinations, Google ‘Hydrangeas’ to see the colour variations.

Storybook Moments & Woven Textures

On Friday’s ‘Live with Michele’ I created two cards using two different Suite Collections, Storybook Moments Suite and Botanical Textures Suite by Stampin’ Up!®.

Both cards were created using the same sketch, Casing a card I saw on Facebook. I’m sorry I don’t have the name who created the card I saw. I loved the simplicity of it, I have changed it slightly and used different products. As this style of card can be created with different products and will always looks great.

My Sketch Book

My sketch book is a book that Stampin Up!® gave us a couple of years ago and I use it to jot down ideas I see….sketches for cards and scrapbooks either ones I have seen or ideas I’ve created, colour combinations- you see them everywhere…Children’s clothing in Big W or in catalogues….I once even used a layout and colour combo from the back of a Nutragrain box – including the words they used (ironman).

What I love about this book is it has a ‘Dot Grid’ on the pages and I find it great for helping me to draw straight lines…(I’m a bit OCD about this) I can also use the grid for keeping my sketch in proportion…meaning each square is either = 1cm or 1″

Botanical Textures

On ‘Live with Michele’ I created this card using the Botanical Textures Suite Collection by Stampin’ Up! ®.

This was a fun and simple card to create, just using some strips of Botanical Textures DSP with the added texture from the Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder, these could also be off cuts from other projects.

    Mixed Media Florals

On Christmas Day all my boys were home, for the first time in a few years all of them have been together. Two of my boys brought home their partners, two beautiful girls, Georgia and Maddy.

These girls jumped in and helped me prepare Christmas Lunch…It’s so nice having more girls in the family as it has only been me. So having two beautiful daughter (by other mothers), I took the chance and took a photo or selfie of the 3 of us (or Georgia did for me).

It’s a beautiful photo and I wanted to create a special page. As yet I’m still to print the photo, so there is no photo on my page. I will print it as a 4 x 6″ and trim it down to 3 7/8″ to fit on the 4″ mat in Basic White.

I created this page using the beautiful Mixed Media Florals Memories & More Card by Stampin’ Up!®. The Mixed Media Florals are one of the products found in the NEW Jan-April 2025 Mini Catalogue, also in the Online exclusives Stampin’ Up! have also released the Mixed Media Floral Suite Collection. Which includes-

    • Mixed Media Florals Bundle
    • Mixed Labels Bundle
    • Mixed Media Florals Designer Series Paper
    • Plaster painting 3D Embossing Folder
    • Low Profile Dots

For this layout I wanted to show how you can use the Memories & More Cards for a more traditional layout, so I created my layout using the 3 x 4″ Mixed Media Cards placed around the 4″ square in the center. The end cards on the top and bottom rows I had to trim down to 2 x 4″, as I wanted a staggered pattern.

    Embellishments

Using the Changing Leaves bundle I die cut 6 sets of leaves. I then coloured these lightly with a blending brush and Shy Shamrock Ink. I had also die cut 3 sets of leaves in Basic Black to use instead of the white leaves and had decided not to use them..After my ‘Live’ had finished I decided they would help make the lighter leaves ‘Pop’

The left side large flower and banner embellishments was fussy cut from one of the larger 4 x 6″ cards and it looks stunning with the Boho Blue 3 x 4″ card behind it. I hopped it up on demensionals with leaves die cut from the Changing Leaves Bundle.

The top center embellishment was die cut using one of the circles from the Stylish Shapes Dies. I added dimensionals to the back and attached it to a Basic Black flagged banner, also from the Stylish shapes. I then added leaves Shy Shamrock leaves, then latter adding the black leaves also.

The last embellishment is one of the stickers that comes with the cards. After removing the stickiness with my embossing buddy I attached it to a white banner with dimensions and again slipping the leaves underneath the sticker.

To finish of my layout I added some Ladybird stickers from the sticker sheet and a double bow in white bakers twine.

Tip: I like to add dimensions or glue only to the center areas of my embellishments that allows me room to slip leaves etc underneath. I create this maybe similar to a florist where they work out there main flowers and bring them together before adding in the fillers.
