Enduring Beauty – Ghost Colouring

The card I created last night on my live uses the Stampin’ Up! ® Enduring Beauty Stamps, Enduring Beauty Dies and Enduring Beauty Decorative Masks.

I’m calling this technique ‘Ghost Colouring’ as the White Craft Ink on a dark cardstock has a ghost look or a sheerness effect when applied with a Blending Brush onto a dark surface such as the Basic Black. This would also look great on Night Of Navy and Blackberry Bliss.

You can add colour on top of the White Craft Ink but it will change the shade of your colour a lot (as shown in Video, linked below)

Pocket Thoughts

Wow!…Love it!

Stampin’ Up! ® have created a stamp/die bundle with pockets dies, Pocket Thoughts Bundle is a Bundle with images & pocket dies that could be used on cards or scrapbook pages.

Pocket Thoughts images could be used on cards where you might want to celebrate Birthdays, Engagement/weddings or Graduations. The dies that come in this bundle are for three size pockets that can be used for gift cards, notes or jounrnaling pockets on scrapbook layouts.

This card was created for my sons partner and I had fun playing with my two favorite colours in the 2024-26 In Colours Designer Series Paper – Petunia Pop and Summer Splash

Measurements Used…

Tips

  • Pocket Thoughts Die – middle size
  • The Happy Birthday sentiment was stamped once in full strength ink and then stamped of in second Generation stamping.
  • The stamps in the set are two step stamps – one stamp, stamps the image and the 2nd stamp colours the image. Here the icing on the cup cake stamp was stamped off to get a lighter shade or 2nd Generation stamping.
  • The cup cake base I coloured using Summer Splash Stampin’ Blends – Light and dark.
  • I used a 10-12cm (4-4 1/2″) length of ribbon in Petunia Pop and Summer Splash. Gently unravel the ribbon so your left with the weft threads. Place the two colours together and tie together. Trim the ends to neaten off.
  • I doubled the Dimensionals for height behind the cup cake to cover the knot of the ribbon.
  • The photo’s below i have added an extra Gold Foil leaf. The die leaf is from the Thoughtful Wishes Dies.

Full of Life

Let’s Create a Scrapbook Page

Many years ago I did a lot of scrapbooking…But over the years I have done less and less. I have a huge amount of photos on my computer and printed. So not long ago I thought I might get back to it and start creating pages filled with love.

On Friday’s ‘Live with Michele’ I created this scrapbook page using the Full of Life Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up!® as my starting point and it worked really well with this photo I found of me and my eldest son, Aaron when he was 4 weeks old. (in the video I thought he was a little younger).

I have kept my journaling simple and in point form….as long as you have the Who, Where and Why. I always say ‘imagine someone is asking you questions about the photo or photo’s, then that is what you want to put down. You could also add Dates, I didn’t do this but I have given Aaron’s age and said it was in Autumn. I have other photos taken at the same time and when I scrap them then more details will be added.

There are 3 types of Journaling

  1. Bullet/Point – Just give the information in point form, Who, Where and Why.
  2. Captions – Has a bit more information that Bullet or Point, with a bit more explanation to what is happening in your images.
  3. Story Telling – Telling a lengthy story of the event, this is leaving nothing out giving all the details. It could be a poem that is relevant to your image/images

Don’t be scared of Journalling, it can be at what ever level you feel comfortable with..just enjoy the process. At the end of the day it all boils down to Who, Where and Why.

Thank you for stopping by and reading my Blog. I hope you have enjoyed my projects & that you’re inspired to get crafty!

Just Kiddin’

Last night I created this fun ‘Kids’ card using the Just Kiddin’ Designer Series Paper. The paper is part of the Just Kiddin’ Suite Collection found on page 49 of the January – April 2024 Stampin’ Up! ® Mini Catalogue, which finishes at the end of April.

The Kiddin’ Around Stamps and Kiddin’ Around Dies will be available in the new Annual Catalogue but not as Kiddin’ Around Bundle (with the 10% discount). If you are wanting the discount grab them now!

As I only had the Just Kiddin’ Designer Series Paper, I used the Artistically Inked Stamps for the ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment. I love this stamp as it is simple and suits and age group, male or female card.

Template Tuesday

Today’s template is by Page Maps. I noticed that PageMaps have said they will no longer be doing Card Maps. Hopefully we can still access the PDF Archives for past Card Maps. PageMaps are a great resource for Scrapbook Page Maps also.

Enduring Beauty

On my Tuesday night ‘Live with Michele’ I created this card using Stampin’ Up!® Enduring Beauty Stamp. This stamp is part of a Enduring Beauty Bundle, the bundle includes stamps, dies and masks.

Measurements Used…

 ColourImperial/LetterMetric/A4
Card BaseBasic White4 ¼ x 11”, score @ 5 ½”10.5 x 29.9cm, score @ 14.9cm
Card MatLost Lagoon4 x 5¼”10 x 14.4cm
Card Front BaseBasic White3 ⅞ x 5 ⅛”9.7 x 14.1cm
Card Insert MatLost Lagoon4 x 5¼”10 x 14.4cm
Card InsertBasic White3 ⅞ x 5 ⅛”9.7 x 14.1cm
SentimentBerry Burst½ x 4¼”1.3 x 10.5cm
Sentiment MatLost Lagoon⅝ x 4¼”1.6 x 10.5cm

This is a simple card to create, masking an area off area approx 6 x 8cm (2¼ x 3½”) using masking paper or ‘Post it Note Paper’. You want the masked area to be smaller than the stamp image, so that it has some ‘black and white’ image. Make sure the outer edge of the card front is covered so ink doesn’t colour the areas you want clean.

Using a Blending Brush, start with Fresh Freesia Ink and brush in a circular motion down 2/3rds of card front. From top down add Berry Burst to the top third of the card. Blending the Berry Burst into the Fresh Freesia. This also hid where I added too much ink in the Fresh Freesia (see Video).

Working from bottom up add Lost Lagoon blending it into the Fresh Freesia. Remove the masking paper.

Using Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, stamp the Enduring Beauty image over the top.

Flight & Airy Fun Fold

Our theme this month for the Let’s Craft Together Blog Hop is a ‘Designer Series Paper Challenge’ by Kayla Renee and I am using the Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up!®. I love this DSP , it has this lovely mix of bright/modern and a traditional softness. At the moment it seems to be my go to paper.

Unfortunately it’s not a paper you can purchase, but you can earn it for FREE when you spend $90 or more. The Flight & Airy Designer Series Paper is one of the many products in the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue

Instagram Story by Srusht Patil showing Tutorial of Pop Card .

I saw this card on Instagram a couple of weeks ago and decided to give it a try. The card made by Srusht is a large card format so I have reduced the measurements to fit with a standard card. I have made a few changes in using less DSP to suite what I was wanting to create.

Jungle Pals

I had so much fun yesterday on ‘Live with Michele’ creating this fun card. I used 3 NEW products from the Stampin’ Up! ® Sale-A-Bration Jan- Feb 2024 Catalogue – Jungle Pals Stamp Set, Heartfelt Hellos Stamp Set and Jungle Pals Dies.

These products are FREE when you purchase from any of our catalogues or from the Online Exclusives.

I coloured the Toucan using Stampin’ Blends. Did you know Toucan’s come in all different colours? I researched them on Google and in the end looked up cartoon images for the Toucan. He was fun to colour!

The colours I used were…

  • poppy Parade
  • Parakeet Party
  • Azure Afternoon
  • Daffodil Delight
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Basic Black

The back ground for this card was coloured using Granny Apple Green, Garden Green, Azure Afternoon and Blueberry Bushel inks with a Blending Brush.

I wanted this card to look lush and bright, with lots of layers of different greens creating depth and flowers in bright colours.

After the Live had wrapped up I decided to add the Black Adhesive Backed Sparkle Gems, as I felt it just need something to finish the flowers…to add a little bit of ‘POP!’

Stippled Roses

Today’s card I have used the Stippled Roses Bundle from the Stampin’ Up! ® Jan – April Mini Catalogue. This is a beautiful detailed stamp with coordinating Dies that not only cut the images out but extra elements as well.

The Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper used in this card can be found in the Jan – Feb Sale-A-Bration Catalogue. When you purchase the Stippled Roses Bundle for $94.50 (AUD) you can get the Softly Stippled DSP for FREE!

I chose to keep this card all the same in colour to also play on the same tone Designer Series Paper, but you could very easily add colour to the Roses and Leaves to change the look completely.

By adding the Vellum die cut leaves under the Pebble Path die cut leaves it softens the look, making it look just that little bit lighter and lacy.

Below is a link to my YouTube Video showing how I created this card.
