Whispering Woods – Let’s Scrap

Hi there, and welcome!
Whether you’re here for inspiration, ideas, or simply a creative escape, I’m so happy you’ve stopped by.

Today Iโ€™m sharing another page from my โ€œAll About Meโ€ album โ€” and this one is a little special.

This photograph is of Joe and I on our wedding day. Iโ€™ll be creating another page to sit behind this one, where Iโ€™ll share more of the details and memories from our wedding day. For now, this page marks the beginning of the next section of my album โ€” Lifeโ€™s Milestones.

I love how scrapbooking gives us the opportunity to tell the story gradually, rather than trying to fit everything onto one page.

Creating the Page

The Whispering Woods Designer Series Paper (Sneak Peek- available 1 September) was the starting point for this layout. The beautiful strips of colour immediately caught my eye because they pick up the blues and greens in the mosaic glass window behind Joe and me in the photograph.

The colours were quite bright, so I softened the overall look by adding Pool Party and Lost Lagoon Two-Tone Cardstock, which coordinates beautifully with the Designer Series Paper and the photo.

To add a little more texture and interest to the Pool Party cardstock, I stamped one of the foliage images from Delicate Whispers Bundle in selected areas, using the stamping-off technique to keep the imagery soft and subtle. I also added a few splatters of Gold Water-Based Pigment Paint for a touch of shimmer.

For the delicate floral elements around the photograph, I used the Delicate Whispers Bundle to create foliage clusters in two corners.

I wanted these elements to complement the photograph rather than overpower it, so I very lightly coloured the foliage using Blending Brushes with Pool Party and Lost Lagoon Ink, the flowers coloured with Stampin’ Blends.

The Delicate Whispers Bundle was originally part of the March Online Exclusives and has now moved into the Last Chance Products. If itโ€™s on your wish list, now is definitely the time to grab it while itโ€™s still available.

The sentiment is from the now-retired Simply Beautiful Stamp Set. I stamped it in Lost Lagoon Ink to continue the soft colour palette throughout the page.

Telling My Story, One Page at a Time

This page is a lovely reminder of why I started my All About Me album in the first place.

It isn’t just about creating pretty scrapbook pages โ€” it’s about recording the people, places, memories and milestones that have made me who I am.

And there are certainly plenty more stories to come!

Wreath & Wonder Floating Card- Sneak Peek

Thereโ€™s something about adding a touch of metallic foil to a handmade card that instantly gives it that little bit of WOW!

For todayโ€™s card, Iโ€™m giving you a sneak peek at some exciting new products coming in the Radiance Awaits Brochure and Septemberโ€“December Stampinโ€™ Up! ยฎ Catalogue.

The star of this card is definitely the Wreath & Wonder Hot Foil Dies By Stampin’ Up!ยฎ โœจ

The Wreath & Wonder Hot Foil Dies

Iโ€™ve used the detailed wreath from the Wreath & Wonder Hot Foil Dies to create the beautiful metallic wreath on my card.

If you haven’t tried hot foiling before, it is such a fun way to add another dimension to your card making. The foil catches the light beautifully and gives the delicate wreath an elegant finish without needing lots of extra embellishments.

And that’s what I particularly love about this cardโ€”the wreath really doesn’t need much else around it. The foil does the talking!

A little more Christmas magic

Iโ€™ve also used the Magical Christmas Hot Foil Dies for the โ€œTis the Seasonโ€ sentiment, which I showed in a previous ‘Live’. The Magical Christmas Dies has 7 sentiments, all created at the same time..more to use on your next project which is what I have done today.

Having the sentiment created with hot foil as well brings the whole card together and gives the metallic detail a lovely consistency.

Iโ€™ve then added a few embellishments for just a little extra sparkle.

Don’t overlook the Designer Series Paper!

For the background, I’ve used the beautiful Whispering Woods Designer Series Paper.

I chose to cut the DSP into strips and layer them across the card front, creating a Floating Card. I love how this lets the different areas of the pattern show while creating a little more interest behind the wreath.

Although Whispering Woods works beautifully for a winter or Christmas project, I think this paper is one youโ€™ll want to look at beyond the obvious. It would also be great for a scrapbooking page for boys and menโ€”from childhood photos and teenage years to sporting memories, holidays and everyday moments.

Beautiful Ordinary Life โ€“ All About Me Scrapbook Page

Hi there, and welcome! Whether you’re here for inspiration, ideas, or just a creative escape, I’m so happy you’ve stopped by.

Let’s Scrap โ€“ All About Me

On Saturdayโ€™s Letโ€™s Scrap, I created this 6″ x 8″ scrapbook page for my All About Me album.

For this layout, I used the Beautiful Ordinary Life Designer Series Paper by Stampin’ Up!ยฎ, along with a couple of products from my retired stash.

This page definitely took me out of my comfort zone! I tend to create very symmetrical designs, so using strips of paper, different angles and a more relaxed arrangement was a little different for me. But sometimes itโ€™s fun to step outside your usual style and try something new!

Adding the Little Details

The little cameras were stamped using the Capturing Smiles Bundle and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

Unfortunately, the Floral Flight Accents I used are no longer available, instead you could use any die cuts of leaves in Basic Black. The sentiment is from an older Stampinโ€™ Up! stamp set called Our Story, and I thought it was perfect for these photos of Joe and me through the years.

For the film strip, I used a die I purchased from another supplier. If you don’t have a similar die, you could easily create your own version using a strip of Basic Black Cardstock.

Each of my photos measures 2.5 cm square, which works really well with this 6″ x 8″ layout.

A Little Challenge to Myself

I really enjoyed creating this page because it reminded me that not every scrapbook layout needs to be perfectly balanced or symmetrical. Sometimes those unexpected angles and little differences are what make a page more interesting.

And, of course, the most important part is the memories behind the photos. โค๏ธ

I hope this page gives you a little inspiration to step outside your comfort zone and try something different in your own scrapbooking!

Joyful Friends โ€“ When the Card Doesn’t Quite Go to Plan

Hi there, and welcome! Whether you’re here for inspiration, ideas, or just a creative escape, I’m so happy you’ve stopped by.

On Friday’s Live with Michele, I created this card using the Joyful Friends Stamp Set by Stampin’ Up!ยฎ. This is another Sneak Peak to what is coming next month with the Sept-Dec Catalogue.

When Things Don’t Go to Plan

This was a fun card to make โ€” and not necessarily because it turned out the way I had imagined! There were quite a few little bloopers along the way, and creatively, this one ended up being a bit of a learning experience for me.

For me, the finished card ended up feeling a little too green. If I were to remake it, I think I would use some Designer Series Paper as the card front and play around with the layout a little more.

But that’s the thing about creating โ€” sometimes what we see in our heads doesn’t quite translate onto the card in front of us. And that’s okay!

What I Do Love

Not every card is going to be a favourite, and sometimes the cards that don’t work out exactly as planned are the ones that teach us the most. They give us ideas about what we might change, what we might try next time, and sometimes even lead us in a completely different creative direction.

One part of this card that I am really happy with is the colouring. I enjoyed using the Stampin’ Blends, and I think the Australian animals turned out really well. They certainly add plenty of personality to the card!

So, while this card may not have turned out exactly as I had hoped, I’m still glad I made it. It’s all part of the creative process โ€” try something, see what happens, and then have another go!

And sometimes, that’s where the best ideas come from.

Mosaic Garden Suite Collection โ€“ Sneak Peek

Hi there, and welcome! Whether you’re here for inspiration, ideas, or just a creative escapeโ€”Iโ€™m so happy youโ€™ve stopped by.

Hereโ€™s another Sneak Peek at the gorgeous Mosaic Garden Suite Collection, coming in the Septemberโ€“December Stampinโ€™ Up! Catalogue.

My Two Heroes ๐Ÿ’™

There are two standouts for me in this suite:

๐ŸŒฟ Mosaic Garden Designer Series Paper
I love the beautiful small-print designs in this DSP, and of course, thereโ€™s plenty of my favourite colourโ€”blue! In this case, itโ€™s the gorgeous Hydrangea Hue.

โœจ Tile Garden Dies
These dies are the other hero for me. They feature beautiful square designs and are a wonderful alternative to the much-loved Spotlight on Nature Dies.

My Tip for Using the Dies When Creating a Card Layout

My tip is to die-cut all the Tile Garden Dies in different colours of cardstock and keep the pieces together as your own card layout templates.

You can then move the different shapes and sizes around and layer the pieces in different ways until you find a layout you love. Once you have a design you’re happy with, you can use it as a template to create your next card.

Itโ€™s a simple way to play with your dies and plan your card design before you start cutting into your favourite cardstock and Designer Series Paper! ๐Ÿ’™

Christmas Mice

Hi there, and welcome! Whether you’re here for inspiration, ideas, or just a creative escape, I’m so happy you’ve stopped by.

On this week’s Live with Michele, I created this sweet Christmas card using the Christmas Mice Bundle from the A Little Christmas Suite Collection by Stampin’ Up!ยฎ. This adorable bundle and suite will be available in September as part of the Septemberโ€“December Catalogue.

Last week I coloured these adorable little mice using Stampin’ Blends, but this week I wanted to show you a different look by using Stampin’ Up! Watercolour Pencils, Blender Pens, and Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.

The design itself is simple, allowing this cute little mouse to take centre stage. I love using Watercolour Pencils because the colours blend so beautifully. With just a Blender Pen or a Water Painter, the pencil lines soften and melt together, creating a lovely hand-painted finish.

TIP:

If you use Basic White Cardstock instead of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, be sure to use a light touch when blending with a Blender Pen or Water Painter. Basic White Cardstock absorbs moisture much more quickly, and overworking it can cause the paper fibres to break down.

A Little Christmas

Hi there, and welcome! Whether you’re here for inspiration, ideas, or just a creative escape, I’m so happy you’ve stopped by.

On this week’s Live with Michele, I created this sweet Christmas card using the A Little Christmas Suite Collection by Stampin’ Up!ยฎ. This adorable suite is a sneak peek from the upcoming Septemberโ€“December 2026 Catalogue, and it’s packed with festive inspiration for all your Christmas crafting.

I have completely fallen in love with these cute little mice! They’re full of personality and can be coloured using whatever colouring medium you enjoy most. For today’s card, I used Stampin’ Blends in Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie, and Petal Pink to colour the mice, while the gift was brought to life with Cherry Cobbler and a touch of Golden Glow Shimmer Brush for some festive sparkle.

The A Little Christmas Designer Series Paper is incredibly versatile. The “A” sides feature charming Christmas scenes with the adorable mice and festive icons, while the “B” sides offer classic plaids and stripes that will coordinate beautifully with so many Christmas projects throughout the catalogue.

I also couldn’t resist sharing another sneak peekโ€”the Softly Woven 3D Embossing Folder. It creates such a gorgeous woven texture that adds depth and elegance to your card layers without taking attention away from the beautiful designer paper.

If you’re looking to get a head start on your Christmas crafting, this suite is sure to become a favourite!

A Wonderful Match | Grand Final Scrapbook Page

Hi there, and welcome! Whether you’re here for inspiration, ideas, or just a creative escape, I’m so happy you’ve stopped by.

I had so much fun creating this scrapbook layout featuring photos of my son’s Mittagong Under 15 Soccer Team after they won the Grand Final in 2016. When Stampin’ Up!ยฎ released the A Wonderful Match Suite Collection, I knew it would be perfect for these memories, so I tucked it away until I found the right photos.

To balance the bold patterned papers, I layered three different designs at varying lengths. This creates plenty of white space, allowing the photos to remain the focal point while softening the busy patterns. I also inked the edges of each paper with Memento Black Ink to add definition and help each layer stand out.

The team’s colours were green and gold, so adding a strip of coordinating cardstock across the page ties the whole layout together and reinforces the theme.

Hidden behind Patrick’s photo is a journaling tag that tells the story of the day, the team’s incredible achievement, and the journey that led them to becoming Grand Final winners. It’s a lovely interactive element that preserves the memories without overwhelming the design.

I hope this layout inspires you to pull out those special sports photos and create a page that celebrates not only the victory but also the friendships and memories made along the way.

Moonlit Flora WV Fun Fold

Hi there, and welcome! Whether you’re here for inspiration, fresh ideas, or simply a creative escape, I’m so happy you’ve stopped by.

In this week’s Live with Michele, I created a WV Fun Fold Card featuring the beautiful Stampin’ Up!ยฎ Moonlit Flora Suite Collection.

The card base is made from Solid Core Cardstock, while the decorative layers use Designer Series Paper and Two-Tone Cardstock. Using Two-Tone Cardstock helps keep the overall card lighter, as it’s slightly thinner than standard cardstock while still providing a lovely coordinating layer.

If you’re concerned about the finished card becoming too bulky for posting, simply leave off the mat layers on Card Base A and add mat layers to Card Base B only. You’ll still achieve the beautiful layered look while keeping the card slimmer and easier to mail.

Create Elegant Foiled Butterflies with the NEW Stampin’ Up! Hot Foil System

Hi there, and welcome! Whether you’re here for inspiration, ideas, or just a creative escapeโ€”I’m so happy you’ve stopped by.

The wait is finally over! On Friday’s Live with Michele, I introduced the NEW Stampin’ Up! Hot Foil System, and I had so much fun sharing this exciting new addition to our crafting tools.

If you’ve been wondering how the Hot Foil System works, this project is the perfect place to start. We explored just how easy it is to add beautiful metallic shine and elegant details to your handmade cards.

Beautiful Foiled Butterflies

Our first step was creating a collection of gorgeous butterflies using the Butterfly Flight Hot Foil Dies Bundle and the coordinating Masks.

The Hot Foil Dies create stunning foiled designs, while the coordinating Masks make it easy to add colour and dimension. By combining the two, we created butterflies with beautiful shimmer and vibrant colour that are perfect for cards, scrapbook layouts and other paper crafting projects.

Creating the Card

Once our butterflies were complete, we used the Moonlit Flora Suite Collection to create an elegant floral card.

The soft floral elements from the suite paired beautifully with the shimmering butterflies, creating a design that feels both delicate and eye-catching. Sometimes just a touch of foil is all you need to take a project from lovely to truly special.

Why You’ll Love the Hot Foil System

The new Stampin’ Up! Hot Foil System makes it simple to add professional-looking foil accents to your projects. Whether you’re creating cards, scrapbook layouts, gift packaging or home dรฉcor, the beautiful foiled finish adds that extra touch of elegance.

With a wide range of Hot Foil Dies and coordinating products becoming available, there are so many creative possibilities to explore.

Watch the Replay

If you missed Friday’s Live, don’t worry! You can still watch the replay and craft along with me as I demonstrate the Hot Foil System, share my tips for getting great results, and create this beautiful butterfly card from start to finish.

I’d love to hear what you think of the new Hot Foil System. Let me know in the commentsโ€”what would you create first?
