What a week so far…..my eldest son is home for a weeks holiday and its wonderful to have him here!
This post was to happen yesterday so sorry it didn’t happen
The colours that have been chosen for this weeks challenge are….
I have a special little friend and on Monday he was telling me that this week he has a Birthday and will be turning a “BIG 5”.
So, this card is made for him….
With only 3 colours and two of those colours quite strong I have kept my card very simple.
The colour I chose to put with Night of Navy and Whisper White is Emerald Envy.
I used the cloud dye-cuts from the bundle to cut the clouds from the Whisper White card front and let the Night of Navy show through. The Balloon has layers underneath in Emerald Envy and Night of Navy with a hint of Wink of Stella to give it a hint of glitter.
I’m sure my little friend will love this card….

This week I’m sharing with you a video by Andrea Walford – Butterfly Thanks
So who is Andrea Walford?
Andrea is a mixed media artist, writer, online educator, and Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. She is Christian, married to Todd and has 5 children.
Andrea for a number of years ran the Website “Paper Crafter’s Library” and I used to drool over her beautiful creations when I first started Card-making.
Andrea is a Independent Demonstrator with Stampin’ Up! and shares her creations on her Website and Blog….http://www.andreawalford.com/
As well as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest.
I find Andrea’s cards fresh, bold and exciting.
What does she offer-
Great Tutorials Videos and PDF
On-line classes
E-Newsletter
and great expertise!
The Video I have for you today is…. Butterfly Thanks
I love the way Andrea does her videos, all the instructions are very clear and concise.
This card involved the technique of sponging and blending of the colours, using both Sponge Daubers and Stamping Sponges.
I like seeing the Stamp-a-ma-jig being used even when using the Photopolymer Stamps, as I find this tool still the best way to line everything up. Rather than leaving it to seeing through the stamp, because knowing me I would have problems lining up the stamp with the image causing a double image.
On the Blog not only is there the video but down loadable instructions.
Now, I just had to CASE this beautiful card myself….I love Butterflies and these colours are stunning.
I found this card a fun and easy card to do.
I didn’t have the Sentiment Stamp used on this card so I used one of the Sentiments from “Mixed Boarders”
So happy to share that the card I did last week received a “Special Mention” on Global Design Project
This week the challenge from Global Design Project is “Case the Designer”
This week we are casing Louise Sharp.
The Stamp set I am using for my card is “Sitting Here” 141589.
For almost a year I have had this stamp set but wasn’t sure what to do with it But today I knew exactly what i wanted and I love this layout of Louise’s.
I’ve kept it all very simple with the background paper from the Envelope Paper 2016 – 201814 In-colours, repeating the colour with the ribbon and bird.
The image was stamped onto Crumb Cake card stock with Crumb Cake Stampin’ Pad and with the Blender Pen the colour blended in from the outline. Dapper Denim was used with the Blender Pen to add colour to the cushion the cat sits on. The Cat was coloured in with Cajun Craze Stampin’ Pad with a hint of blue for his eyes
Blue is my favorite colour and I have enjoyed making this card so much.
Thanks GDP for another great challenge.

Welcome again to Butterflys and Bow and to Video Friday!
Today I’d like to share with you a Video I saw last week and it looked so fun and different to anything I’d seen before. It also involved using Re-Inkers and I don’t use them very often.
It’s called”Re-Inker Rainbows” and the Video is by Kim Williams of “Stampin’ with Kjoyink”.
Kim states that this is a “Fun stamping technique using Stampin Up re-inkers and shimmery white Cardstock for a unique card background.”
I love these cards and I had to give them ago myself, I love the simplicity of them and the uniqueness of them. i just wish I had all the colours that Kim used and it wasn’t until I finished playing that I relised Kim had used 5 colours and I had only used 4…..odd numbers are always best. But I am still happy with the way mine turned out.
These were so much fun to make …simple quick and very effective…so much so I ended up making about 8 of them and if I had more colours I don’t think I would have stopped.
These would be great for a Party or Class.
So id you are interested in having a Party or Class and you would like to give these fantastic cards a go call me and book a date!
The 2 Stamp sets I used were Layering love and Suite Sentiments.
Today I am taking part in the Global Design Project challenge and the theme is ….
“AMUSEMENT PARK”
There are so many aspects of Amusement Park……
For me its the local show, which was on last weekend.
I didn’t get to go as it rained all weekend and me and mud (clay) don’t mix. The last time I was at the show ground to go to the Circus I thought I was taking part of the entertainment and went flying through the air and fell flat on my face in the “Mud”……LOL, its funny now!
But I did hear the noise from the show….the “Fireworks”
So I decided my card is going to have a Fireworks theme…..
OK, so how am I going to achieve this look….
of bursting colour against the night sky.
So last night I spent some time on YouTube University and found some videos on Joseph’s Coat Technique. I had seen this before but hadn’t got around to giving it ago.
So went to bed late but excited about what I came up with……
There is a Tutorial with all measurements and products used along with a YouTube Video.
