Well Suited – Happy Birthday

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Today’s card is a simple Black, White and Gold card for you… I made this card using Handsomely Suited Stamp set from the Well Suited Suite and the Gilded Leafing Embellishment by Stampin’ Up!. This was my first play with it, keeping it really simple until i work it all out. What do you think?

Well Suited by Stampin' Up!

I used the Stamparatus to stamp the images using VersaMark. I placed the Bow Tie and the sentiment onto the Stamparatus and stamped, then moved the hinged plates down two spaces and stamped again.

Sprinkle the Heat & Stick Powder over the top, removed the excess and heat with the Heat Gun. Working quickly I dipped the card front into the Gilded Leafing and gentle pushed down. Working lightly with a piece of sponge gently brush off the excess Gilding Leaf. In areas that didn’t take with the Gilding I heated up with the Heat Gun again.

Two things to be careful of…

  • The Gilding Leaf comes in a jar, purchase a large plastic box to pour it into. You will need a box about the size of a card front or bigger and next time I may only empty half the jar not all of it…a little bit of this stuff goes a long way and there’s more in that jar than you think.
  • I found the sponge a little harsh, I’m going to get myself a Stippling brush and try. I found the Sponge was a little too harsh..you need to pounce the Gilding on. So it needs to be firm but then soft enough to bush away the excess Gilding.

The card I have made today is using the Berry Blessings Bundle and is found on page 14-15 of the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue by Stampin’ Up!. The stamp set – Berry Blessings has 13 Photopolymer stamps and is a two step stamp. Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper has 12 sheets of 12 x 12″ (30.5 x 30.5cm) paper, 2 of each of the 6 double sided designs.

You can earn this Level Two bundle when you spend $180.

Berry Blessings Stamps & Berry Delight Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up!

This bundle co-ordinates with the Sweet Strawberry Bundle found in the Stampin’ Up! 2021 Jan- Jun Mini Catalogue on page 44.

The colours in these Designer Series papers are very bright and fresh. To soften the DSP I added a layer of Vellum, this allowed the print of the berry to stand out from the plaid behind. The Berry DSP was die cut using one of the dies from the Ornate Layers. The stamped images were stamped onto one of the circles from the Stitched Shapes Dies.

Always in my Heart – January Creativity Abounds Blog Hop

Welcome to our First Creativity Abounds Blog Hop.  We are a group of very keen Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from all around the world that are coming together to share our creative ideas with you.  We are happy that you can join us and hope that we can Inspire you to make creations of your own.

I am so proud to be taking part in the Creative Abounds Blog Hop with this great group of ladies & creating projects to share with you. This month our focus is on the ‘Love you Always Suite’ from the NEW January – June Mini Catalogue.

There is so much in this suite, something for everyone. I love the stunning black and white designs in the ‘Love you Always Designer Series Paper‘. On one side there are beautiful black and white florals that you can leave as they are or colour them in…using either Stampin’ Up! Water Colour Pencils (just don’t add the water), Blender Pens or any of the spongers – daubers or Blending Brushes (also NEW). I used Blender pens in Rococo Rose, Crumb Cake and Old Olive to colour the flower spray I used.

On the other side of the Designer Series paper the designs are more geometric, that contrast with the florals. Again these too can be coloured…may have to do that in my next card!

Always in my heart by Stampin' Up!

This suite also also has 2 different Stamp/Die bundles – Always in my Heart and Forever & Always Bundle. For this card I used the Always in my Heart Bundle which has a beautiful big floral shaped heart die. You may not be able to see the heat die on my card as it is under neath the flowers, die cut from the Sahara Sand foil sheet from the Love you Always Foil Sheets. This pack of foil sheets includes 2 sheets of three colours Blushing Bride, Rococo Rose and Sahara Sand. Included with the dies is this lovely big ribbon die cut, which has score lines so you know where to fold.

Always in my Heart by Stampin' Up!

Moving Along- Its Your Day

Hi and welcome today to my Blog.

Today’s card I created this great little scene of clouds, hills and a train rolling along. I’m sure any boy big or small would love this card. The stamp set I used for this card is the Moving Along Photopolmer Stamps by Stampin’ Up! ®.

The background was created using masking with a torn piece of paper and the NEW Stampin’ Up! ® Blending Brushes. These Blending Brushes are a must have in your colouring tool kit. They are made of hundreds of very fine soft bristles and is so easy to work with. They come in 3 in a pack…get 2 packs and have one for each colour family – Yellows, reds, blues and greens.

They are easy to clean with just a damp paper towel or cloth to rub them on to remove the colour. Sometimes if these is a lot of ink on them I run them through the water (but I don’t soak them) and then just use a paper towel to remove the excess water, stand in a cup and let them dry.
