What did I get up to last weekend!

What did I get up to last weekend……….

Last weekend I was invited to join a great group of women to share a weekend of

“SCRAPBOOKING”

Haven’t done what is now called by lots of scrappers as “Traditional Scrapbooking” for a long time.

We went to a lovely little place in the Blue Mountains called Kurajong, where we stayed at a place called

Merroo Christian Centre.

Click on the photo to see there great web site and hear the amazing Bell Birds.

As a child driving with my parents through this area I remember stopping and/or being told to wind down the windows to listen for the Bell Birds.

Waking up to them each morning was beautiful and brought back great memories.

So……what did I do while there.

Now, this was not a Stampin’ Up! event…..but I tried to stay using Stampin’ Up! products.

We were given some different challenges and the first one I did was this one.

14484973_10153945749963097_1617564980147513843_n

and here is my take on this layout..

2016-10-28-19-37-07

This photo was taken on my sisters farm in Lue, near Mudgee.

Here it is along with the Project Life page to go with it, I made my own cards to match.

2016-10-28-21-10-14

In the next Challenge page we were given a bag of goodies and had to use 2 items on our page…

everything thing in my bag was girly and I have “BOYS”

…the lovely Sheena suggested I turn the button over and use the other side.

The “button and word Cherish” came from my bag, the papers are discontinued Stampin’ Up!

Christmas paper and the floral print comes from the current “All Year Long” Project Life cards

2016-10-31-08-29-23

This is a few pages that I completed.

Scrapbooking doesn’t have to be just “Traditional” or just “Project Life”.

Sometimes there are those special moments/photo’s that need to be highlighted and Traditional Scrapping works well.

Have fun with what you are doing.

(By the way I completed over 23 pages…whooo Hooo!, 2009 album almost completed)

Project Life and Christmas

holiday16_p30c-35

Are you like me and take lots of photos over the Christmas season of events, your children, Grand-children….then what do you do with them …leave them on your phone….get them printed and then they go into that draw or box.

Well I have the solution… Project Life – by Becky Higgins and Stampin’ Up!
It is a fun and great way to get your photos into albums to share with family and friends.

How about preparing your album before December even starts and then all you need to do is slip in the photos and add our journaling…its so simple!
Book a workshop and let me show you and your friends how easy and simple it is…..gone are the days we spent hours or even days over one page (though you can still do this if you wish).
I’m loving Project Life and its simplicity and I would love to share it with you.

The colours in this weeks challenge are reminiscent of these Spring Time Blooms.

Using a simple water colour technique, I stamped tree image’s from the Totally Trees

Stamp Set onto water colour paper. Then with an Aqua Painter going over the image with water.

The tree trunks and the sentiment from Laying Love has been stamped in Basic Gray Ink.

The edges on the paper was sponged with Rich Razzelberry Ink.

Global Design Project #053 | Colour Challenge

This week we are being inspired by colour.

Colour is something Stampin’ Up!® is very well known for and it is wonderful that we have

so many products that co-ordinate with one another.

The Design team this week have give us 3 beautiful colours to work with….

Gold, Night of Navy and Watermellon Wonder….

colour-challenge

I have really enjoyed working with these colours and here is what I have come up with.

imag1432

The Flourishing Phrase Stamp Set and Flourish Thinlits are part of a Bundle,

buying these as a bundle gives you a 10% discount.

imag1434

The Flourish in the back ground has been stamped in Versa Mark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

Sentiment also from the set I stamped with Night of Navy Ink. The Velum leaves soften the card and

goes with the elegance of the card.

I love these beautiful Thinlits, they are elegant with the feel of old world yet still modern and

whats a card like this if it wasn’t finished with a bit of “BLING”.

I have added Dimensionals between the Watermellon Wonder and White matting to give depth

to the finished card.

Global Design Project #052 | CASE the Designer

What a week…..

I have been sick all week with end of winter Flu/Tonsilites

but the best news of the week has been ….

Robert (my No: 3 son) has been chosen to be the next School Captain.

So proud of him.

But to the task at hand……

This week Global Design Project have given us another Challenge “CASE the Designer”

and it’s none other than the talented Teneale Williams.

I just love her cards…they are so beautiful.

I really like the layout of this card, so I have taken my inspiration from there.

For this card I have used the Cookie Cutter Bundle.

A great set for adults and children…a great way to get them involved in making this years Christmas cards

for family and friends.

Its a simple Stamp Set with some great images for Christmas and includes a Builder  Punch, which makes cutting out so easy..
