Create Elegant Foiled Butterflies with the NEW Stampin’ Up! Hot Foil System

Published on July 12, 2026July 12, 2026 by Michele Jutrisa

Hi there, and welcome! Whether you’re here for inspiration, ideas, or just a creative escape—I’m so happy you’ve stopped by.

The wait is finally over! On Friday’s Live with Michele, I introduced the NEW Stampin’ Up! Hot Foil System, and I had so much fun sharing this exciting new addition to our crafting tools.

If you’ve been wondering how the Hot Foil System works, this project is the perfect place to start. We explored just how easy it is to add beautiful metallic shine and elegant details to your handmade cards.

Beautiful Foiled Butterflies

Our first step was creating a collection of gorgeous butterflies using the Butterfly Flight Hot Foil Dies Bundle and the coordinating Masks.

The Hot Foil Dies create stunning foiled designs, while the coordinating Masks make it easy to add colour and dimension. By combining the two, we created butterflies with beautiful shimmer and vibrant colour that are perfect for cards, scrapbook layouts and other paper crafting projects.

Creating the Card

Once our butterflies were complete, we used the Moonlit Flora Suite Collection to create an elegant floral card.

The soft floral elements from the suite paired beautifully with the shimmering butterflies, creating a design that feels both delicate and eye-catching. Sometimes just a touch of foil is all you need to take a project from lovely to truly special.

Why You’ll Love the Hot Foil System

The new Stampin’ Up! Hot Foil System makes it simple to add professional-looking foil accents to your projects. Whether you’re creating cards, scrapbook layouts, gift packaging or home décor, the beautiful foiled finish adds that extra touch of elegance.

With a wide range of Hot Foil Dies and coordinating products becoming available, there are so many creative possibilities to explore.

A Day to Remember

Published on June 28, 2026June 28, 2026 by Michele Jutrisa

Hi there, and welcome! Whether you’re here for inspiration, ideas, or just a creative escape—I’m so happy you’ve stopped by.

At the moment, I’m working on an album called “All About Me.” It’s all about digging into your craft stash and using what you already have to create a fun, interactive album that’s full of memories and personality.

So grab your supplies, make yourself a cuppa, and let’s get started. Happy crafting!

Restoring a Precious Childhood Memory

The other day I was sorting through some old photos when I came across a collection that I thought had been lost forever. I was absolutely thrilled to find them! Among them was a faded, tattered photo of me taken at Marineland, Queensland, sometime around 1970 or 1971.

The photo had certainly seen better days, so I scanned it and asked ChatGPT to restore it. I was amazed by the result—it brought the photo back to life while still keeping it looking like the original. I think it did a wonderful job, and I’ll definitely be restoring more of my old damaged photos.

One thing I would recommend is being careful when using photo restoration software. Some programs can over-edit your images, changing facial features or colours so much that they no longer resemble the original photograph. I prefer a restoration that preserves the authenticity and character of the original memory.

Creating the Layout

For this scrapbook page, I went shopping in my own craft stash.

I chose the Everyday Happiness Designer Series Paper and the Everyday You & Me Scrapbook Workshop Kit for the page base. I also found some leftover die cuts from the Seaside Wishes Bundle and another retired bundle whose name escapes me. Then I came across the Waves of Inspiration Bundle, and I simply had to include the pelican—it was the perfect finishing touch for a page about a day by the sea.

For the title, I used a sentiment from the Celebrate Together Stamp Set.

I love projects like this because they’re a wonderful reminder that those leftover embellishments, die cuts and papers can come together to create something truly special.

Preserving More Than Just Photos

While filming my video, I found myself reminiscing about Marineland and all the wonderful childhood memories it brought back. Afterwards, I did a little research online and found some vintage promotional images from the attraction. I printed them at 3″ x 4″ to include alongside my photos, helping to tell more of the story.

I also shared one of my favourite scrapbook tips—adding a slimline interactive page for extra photos and journaling. It’s a great way to include more photos and memories without adding another full page layout, while giving yourself plenty of room to tell the stories behind the photographs.

These extra pages add movement, interest, and space for those little details that might otherwise be forgotten—especially when documenting places that are now long gone.

Below, I’ll show you how easy it is to create your own slimline page to hold additional photos and the memories that go with them. It’s a simple addition that adds so much to your 6 x 8 album.

Wild Bunch Swing Card

Published on June 27, 2026June 27, 2026 by Michele Jutrisa

Hi there, and welcome! Whether you’re here for inspiration, ideas, or just a creative escape—I’m so happy you’ve stopped by.

I’ve wanted to make a Swing Card ever since creating my Swing Easel Card last Christmas, and I’m so glad I finally gave it a try. It was so much fun to make, and I already know I’ll be creating more!

For this interactive card, I used the Stampin’ Up!® Beautiful Ordinary Life Suite Collection along with the June Product of the Month – Wild Bunch. Although the Wild Bunch stamps have now sold out, you can easily recreate this design by substituting another feature element, such as one of the larger butterflies from the Beautiful Ordinary Life Suite.

Gently pull the sides of the card and watch the center panel swing open to reveal the greeting panel hidden on the back. It’s a clever design that’s sure to delight the recipient while still folding to fit inside a standard envelope for both Australian and US card sizes.

Below you’ll find a free printable tutorial, along with links to my YouTube video tutorial, where I guide you through each step of creating this fun Swing Card.

If you enjoy my tutorials and would like to support my work, I’d really appreciate it if you could Like and Share my YouTube channel. You can also support me by using the “Buy Me a Coffee” link below. Every little bit helps me continue creating tutorials and sharing inspiration with you.

Thank you so much for your support, and happy crafting!

Let’s Scrap: This is me..

Published on May 24, 2026May 24, 2026 by Michele Jutrisa

Hi there, and welcome! Whether you’re here for inspiration, ideas, or just a creative escape—I’m so happy you’ve stopped by.

I’ve been thinking about creating an album all about me for quite a while now, and at last I’m finally starting it… and I thought I’d bring you along for the ride.

We spend so much time scrapping about our family and others that sometimes we forget about ourselves. This album will be filled with pages about me, the things I love, and the highlights of my life. I want it to be bright, colourful, joyful, and something that inspires creativity and connection.

As we work our way through my life story, I’ll also be sharing different techniques and ideas along the way.

I’m keeping this project simple by using the 6″ x 8″ Basic Black Album by Stampin’ Up!®, along with the Variety Pack Photo Pocket Pages and the NEW 6″ x 8″ Memory Protectors.

This will also be a wonderful way to use up some of the products we’ve been hoarding away in our craft rooms. I know I have a huge collection of Memories & More Cards, so I’ll be digging through those to find subtitles, wordy bits, and little accents to add to my layouts.

Below is the layout I created for my very first page — “This Is Me…” Over the coming weeks, I’ll be adding more pages. They may not end up in the final order straight away, but we can play with that later.

Will you be joining me on Saturday mornings (please note, it may not be every Saturday) for some scrapping fun?

All About Me Handout

With the help of ChatGPT, I’ve created this great handout filled with tips, prompts, and ideas to help you create your own “All About Me” album.

Whether you’re just getting started or looking for inspiration for your next page, this guide is packed with ideas to help tell your story in a creative and meaningful way.

I hope it inspires you to dig into your memories, celebrate the little moments, and make time to scrapbook you.

Artisan Sketched Garden

Published on May 16, 2026May 16, 2026 by Michele Jutrisa

Hi there, and welcome! Whether you’re here for inspiration, ideas, or just a creative escape—I’m so happy you’ve stopped by.

On Friday’s Live with Michele, I created this gorgeous card using the Artisan Sketched Garden collection by Stampin’ Up!. This beautiful Designer Series Paper features elegant black and white floral images on one side, with coordinating patterned designs on the reverse—perfect for mixing, layering, and creating stunning projects.

One of the things I love most about these papers is how versatile they are. The black and white floral images can be coloured in so many ways—use Blends, Watercolour Pencils (without water—try blending with the Colour Lifter instead), or Blender Pens for a softer look.

For today’s card, I used Blender Pens with the gorgeous 2026–2028 In Colors to bring the floral images to life. The soft blended effect works beautifully with these delicate sketches and gives such an elegant finish.

🌸 Tip: Work lightly with your Blender Pens and ink when colouring to avoid the paper pilling and to achieve a soft, blended look.

You’ll find the written tutorial and YouTube video below so you can recreate this project yourself. All the products used for this project can be purchased through my online store using the links below. Thank you so much for supporting my business and my creative journey. 💕

Capturing Smiles Double Slider Box

Published on March 21, 2026March 21, 2026 by Michele Jutrisa

Hi there, and welcome! Whether you’re here for inspiration, ideas, or just a creative escape—I’m so happy you’ve stopped by.

On yesterday’s ‘Live with Michele’ I created this fun treat box using the Capturing Smiles Bundle by Stampin’ Up! ®.

This fun little treat box would be perfect for party favours or a sweet thank you gift… but I’d love to know—how would YOU use it? 💕

I created around 50 of these in a rainbow of colours as my ‘swap’ for last week’s OnStage 2026 event in Sydney. It was such a special time… catching up with friends from all around Australia, finally meeting some I’ve only ever chatted with on Facebook, and even spending time with lovely friends visiting from overseas—like Lorraine and Beth from America.

There’s something so special about sitting together, crafting, chatting, and sharing a meal. It really fills your cup 🥰

On Stage Fun!

We also got a sneak peek at the NEW catalogue coming in May—and there’s a big change ahead! Stampin’ Up! will be moving away from the Annual Catalogue and Mini Catalogues, replacing them with three seasonal catalogues each year.

It’s definitely something new, and like any change it might take a little getting used to—but it also means more flexibility, fresh products, and exciting new releases throughout the year. I’m really looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds!

Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing some sneak peeks of the new products—and I just know you’re going to love them! 💕

Flower Fair & Party Banner Dies

Published on February 21, 2026February 21, 2026 by Michele Jutrisa

Hi there, and welcome! Whether you’re here for inspiration, ideas, or just a creative escape—I’m so happy you’ve stopped by.

On yesterday’s ‘Live with Michele’ I created this card using the Flower Fair by Stampin’ Up! ®, this is a sneak peak for a new product coming in the March Online Exclusives.

This is a simple Tent Fold card, but we’re stepping it up by using the Party Banner Dies to create both the card base and all the layers. I’ve shown exactly how I’ve done this in the YouTube video below so you can follow along step-by-step.

The Flower Fair stamp is perfect for colouring — and you definitely don’t need to be an expert to achieve a beautiful result. For today’s card I used the Stampin’ Up! Watercolour Pencils Assortments 1 & 2, blending them with the Colour Lifter from the Stampin’ Blends range.

How I created this look..

Because I used the Colour Lifter (which is alcohol-based) to blend my colours, I stamped my image with Memento Ink onto Basic White Cardstock. I find this keeps the pencil colours nice and vibrant.

If you prefer using Blender Pens (water-based) or Water Painters, you would need to switch to Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper and stamp with the Stazon Ink Pad, as it’s a permanent ink and won’t bleed with water.

Using the Stampin’ Positioner, I stamped the full image onto a quarter sheet of Basic White Cardstock with Memento Ink. The image is larger than what’s required for the card, so you can either colour the entire image or just the sections you plan to use.

The brightness of your flowers depends on how much colour you apply. I wanted a bright, happy look, so I pressed firmly with my pencils. Don’t worry about perfect blending at this stage — the Colour Lifter will help move and soften the colour beautifully.

For each flower head, I used two shades — one light and one dark — layering the lighter colour first, then adding the darker shade where I wanted depth and shading.

Colour combinations used:

Pink – Fresh Freesia & Melon Mambo
Yellow – Daffodil Delight & Pumpkin Pie
Blue – Balmy Blue & Night of Navy
Green – Granny Apple Green & Old Olive

Once I was happy with the colouring, I die cut all the layers for my card using the Party Banner Dies.

As an extra layer of interest, I also stamped the card insert and left it as a simple black and white image — but you could absolutely colour this as well if you wanted to carry the brightness through the entire card.

Measurements Used…

	Colour	Imperial/Letter	Metric/A4
Card Base Tent Fold	Granny Apple Green	4 ¼ x 11”, score @ 5 ½”	10.5 x 29.9cm, score at 14.9cm
Card Mat	Basic White	4¼ x 5½”	10.5 x 14.9cm
Card Front	Basic White	4¼ x 5½”	10.5 x 14.9cm
Card Insert	Basic White	4¼ x 5½”	10.5 x 14.9cm
Sentiment	Basic White	2½ x 2½”	5 x 5cm

Stampin’ Positioner

And if you love perfectly stamped images every time, the Stampin’ Positioner is a total game changer! It makes lining up large images like Flower Fair effortless and allows you to re-stamp for deeper colour and beautifully crisp results.

Lovely Blossoms

Published on February 14, 2026February 14, 2026 by Michele Jutrisa

Hi there, and welcome! Whether you’re here for inspiration, ideas, or just a creative escape—I’m so happy you’ve stopped by.

On Live with Michele, I created this beautiful card using the Lovely Blossoms Suite Collection by Stampin’ Up!®. The Lovely Blossoms products are part of the January Online Exclusives and offer such elegant floral imagery for cardmaking.

Before going live, I had a wonderful group of ladies join me for an in-person card class, and the tutorial below shows one of the cards we created together. For my Live presentation, I decided to recreate the design and step it up with a few extra elements to add more texture and detail.

Here’s what I changed for the stepped-up version:

Added a row of Basic White scalloped circles behind the Secret Sea DSP strip using the circle dies.
Positioned the ribbon behind the scallops instead of placing it on top of the DSP.
Created vellum leaves by stamping the three-leaf image in VersaMark and heat embossing with white embossing powder.
Changed the sentiment and fussy cut it for a softer, more detailed finish.

These simple additions really elevate the original design while still keeping the elegance of the Lovely Blossoms Suite.

Greenery Lane

Published on February 8, 2026February 8, 2026 by Michele Jutrisa

Hi there, and welcome! Whether you’re here for inspiration, ideas, or just a creative escape—I’m so happy you’ve stopped by.

On yesterday’s Live with Michele, I created this beautiful card using the Greenery Lane Bundle and Greenery Lane Washi Tape by Stampin’ Up!®.

Greenery Lane Bundle & Washi Tape

The Greenery Lane Bundle is wonderfully versatile. You can stamp and die-cut the images, and the dies also coordinate with the Greenery Lane Washi Tape, allowing you to cut out the designs and use them on your projects with ease.

The washi tape can be adhered to cardstock, vellum, or window sheet, depending on the look you’d like to achieve. For this card, I chose vellum to create a soft, light, and sheer effect that adds a delicate touch to the finished design.

Stampin’ Positioner

While designing this card, I wanted to demonstrate just how versatile the Stampin’ Positioner can be. Because the plate is such a generous size, it makes stamping multiple images at once in the same ink colour both quick and easy.

The smaller plate was perfect for positioning and stamping my greeting neatly over the top, ensuring a clean and precise finish.

If you don’t yet have a Stampin’ Positioner, you can achieve a similar look by arranging your stamps on a large acrylic block and stamping them all at once.

Exclusive Joining Offer

This month is the perfect time to join my Stampin’ Up!® team thanks to the Exclusive Joining Offer available from 3 February to 2 March.

When you purchase the Starter Kit during this special promotion, you’ll not only receive incredible value in products of your choice, but you’ll also receive the brand-new Stampin’ Positioner included in your kit at no extra cost. Lovely Blossoms Card & Stampin’ Repositioner

Published on February 1, 2026February 1, 2026 by Michele Jutrisa

Hi there, and welcome! Whether you’re here for inspiration, ideas, or just a creative escape—I’m so happy you’ve stopped by.

On Friday’s Live with Michele, I played with the Lovely Blossoms Suite Collection and had a good play with the NEW Stampin’ Positioner by Stampin’ Up!®.

Tri-Fold card using the lovely Blossoms Suite Collection

This is such a fun, simple card to make, and the Positioner makes stamping so easy. I showed how I stamped the sentiment down the side (still practising that spacing 😅) and how effortlessly you can get great ink coverage when stamping the leaves.

My favourite tip came from my gorgeous friend Heather – The Songbird Stamper, who shared a brilliant way to use the small alignment plate to stamp on already die-cut banners. If you like to cut first and stamp later, this is a total game changer!
