Apple Harvest & Apple Blossom Dies

Today I’m taking part in the Just Add Ink Challenge and I am using Stampin’ Up!® Apple Harvest stamps and the Apple Blossom Dies. The Apple Harvest stamps are current in our current catalogue. The Apple Blossom Dies, which came out with a promotion last year are now discontinued and can be found at the moment in the Clearance Rack (Australia)…..So if you want them get them now!

    Just Add Ink #663…Choose Two!

Our Just Add Ink Challenge this week has been suggested by Tina.   It’s a Choose Two Challenge that means you can use any products, layout, techniques or colours as long as you include two of the suggested elements.

My choice for the Choose Two Challenge by ‘Just Add Ink” ….. Flowers and Splatters.

Waves of Inspiration – Live with Michele

Today on my ‘Live’ I created a card using the Stampin’ Up!® Waves of Inspiration Stamp and Waves Dies. I haven’t used this stamp for a long time so it was fun to go back and revisit it.

I used this card as my entry for the Global Design Project #404

Global Design Project #404 | Case the Designer

This week, we are CASEing a card by Susan Wong, our talented team member from New Zealand.
CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit
Remember that when you CASE a project you can take what you like from the design and make it your own. It might be the stamp set – the colors, the layout, the theme, the images – whatever you like that has inspired you to make a card of your own.

Why don’t you go to Global Design Project site and check out the other projects completed by the Design Team …. also the other entries.

    How to make this card….

    • Mask – Rub the back of the mask along stitching lines to close up holes, so that the colour doesn’t bleed through.
    • Masked of area coloured with Starry Sky and Azure Afternoon Stampin’ Pads and Blending Brushes
    • Water Splater – use a paint brush to get smaller splaters
    • Embossing folder – used reverse side as card front
    • Pelican – Stamped with Pebble Path and stamped off. Why? New ink pad which is very juicy, by removing some of the ink you get a clearer image.
    • Watercolour Pencils Used – Basic Black, Basic Gray, Basic White, Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso, Balmy Blue and Coastal Cabana
    • Watercolour pencils – use Blender Colour Lifter to blend colours, this allows you to use Basic White cardstock and Stampin’ Pads (water base ink)
    • Pebble Path Jute – Separate strands and bring back together to reduce bulk and give a fuller look.

Cheerful Daisies – Live with Michele

For my ‘Live’ on Tuesday night I used the Cheerful Daisies Bundle by Stampin’ Up!® to create my card & to help decide the style/products I would used we rolled the DICE to leave it up too chance.

    • Brights
    • Slim Line
    • Embossed
    • Bling
    • For You

Brights – Berry Burst, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight

Slim Line – Long Narrow Card

Emboss – I used two embossing techniques

1 – Emboss Resist Technique – this is where you stamp the image with VersaMark ink and emboss with embossing powder. I used white embossing powder and with a Blending Brush, brushed Berry Burst Ink over the flower petals. The ink will resist the embossed areas and can be wiped away with a soft cloth or paper towel.

2 – Splatters 3D Embossing Folder, folder not long enough for card length, run through twice from each end. The area where the two ends of folder meets is not noticeable and covered with flowers.

Bling – Matt Black Dots, Deleted…Alternative Classic Matte Dots

For You – Sentimental Park Stamps along with Stylish Shapes Dies

Card Insert – I used to decorate inside left over flowers 1 large Daisy, I smaller Daisy and 1 green leaf

    Zoo Crew

Welcome to my Blog, this week I have been having fun playing with Zoo Crew by Stampin’ Up!® and I have used the Sketch Challenge by Just Add Ink to inspire me. I also added die cuts from Dainty Delight Dies and the sentiment is from Sending Smiles stamp set.

I coloured my ‘She Leopard’ …LOL, that’s what I’m calling her, using Stampin’ Up!® Water Colour Pencils and blended them using the Stampin’ Blends Colour Lifter.

Because I used the Colour Lifter I was able to stamped my image onto Basic White Cardstock and used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. If I used water or Blender Pen I would have to change my ink to Stazon and use Watercolor Paper.

    Just Add Ink #662…Sketch!

This is great sketch, there is so much you can do with it. just check out the Just Add Ink page to see what the Design Team came up with and what others have also created…maybe even give it a go yourself.

Paper Florist Dies – Live with Michele

Today on my ‘Live’ I created a card using the Paper Florist Dies and Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper. This was a fun card to make, keeping it simple using the Daisy Dies, leaves and bud dies.

To give the background some interest I used the Lemon Lolly Strips from the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper. This also fulfilled the requirements for the Global Design Project Theme Challenge #403. It’s been a while since I’ve entered the GDP challenge and it fills good to be back.

My other inspiration for this card was the sentiment – ‘Hey, there!’. Cleaning my desk I found the Charming Sentiments stamps, which is a bunch of sentiments for any occasion.

Global Design Project #403 | Theme challenge

This week’s Global Design Project theme challenge is stripes. What a fun challenge!

Why don’t you go to Global Design Project site and check out the other projects completed by the Design Team …. also the other entries.

    How to make this card…

    • Using Sm Blending Brush, brush Old Olive ink lightly onto the Soft Sea Foam leaves.
    • Using Sm. Blending Brush, brush Bubble Bath ink onto flower petal and buds.

Zoo Crew – Live with Michele

Today my card I have created to give to friend that has just become a first time Grandmother.

I thought the Lama from the Zoo Crew Suite was a must for this card, with her sitting there busy knitting away….maybe creating something fun for a new baby.

I stamped the Lama with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and coloured it using Stampin’ Up! Blends.

When layering the Designer series Paper I felt it needed a bit of a lift, the two pieces of DSP with a white background was just too similar and needed to be a little different. A good way to change this with out completely changing the paper is to colour it. There are many ways you can colour your DSP and for this card I used the Lemon Lolly Blends. By using the Brush Nib end of your blend, colour the DSP – making sure you use the side of the brush not the point.

    How to make this card…

If you get lost for ideas on card layouts, check out places like Pinterest. Here you can find lots of ideas by searching ‘Card Templates’ or ‘Card Sketches’. CardMaps and MojoSketch on Pinterest. I have a board on my Pinterest site called ‘Card Templates’ were I have saved card ideas. Sometimes I use these ideas when I’m feeling a bit lost for an idea or need some inspiration. When you do use an idea that not your own and share on Social Media (etc), then give credit to Where or Who inspired you.

    Timeless Arrangements

This weekend I took part in a Creativity Abounds Stamp Camp using products from the Fresh as a Daisy Suite. As part of the camp we gave some challenges, which you could use any products you have to create with.

This Challenge was given to us by Sara Sayers from the UK – Kiss Kreative

I love the Timeless Arrangements Bundle, they are so easy to use. Having all those small flowers on a bar means you don’t have to fiddling with lots of small pieces. You can layer as little of many as you want and place them behind sentiments, ribbon or layers. You die cut them from cardstock, Designer Series Paper, foil (gold, silver etc) or velum.

    Stampin' Up! Timeless Arrangements Bundle

Love the colours in this against the Black, black always makes everything ‘POP’.

Quick Tips on creating this card..

    • Card front is Embossed using the Dot Folder from Basic 3D Embossing Folder
    • Flowers/Leaves on bars- you will require 2 for the front and 1 to cut down to use on card insert
    • Smaller Flowers and Leaves I used at least 4 on card front and others inside. These can be tucked in and around sentiment to fill areas you want to fill.
    • Flowers/leaves on bars are layered on top of one another and attached to back of embossed and die cut sentiment.
    • Left over flowers used to decorate strip on card insert – tried not to layer too much on top of each other. As you don’t want bulk on one side of strip.

    Zoo Crew

For this challenge I have decided to use the Zoo Crew Suite with a Fun Fold Card – Pillar Pop-Up Card. I made this card originally in 2022 – Stella Birthday

    How to make this card…

You can find a YouTube Video showing how I made this card previously HERE

I made a couple of changes, which are

    • No Designer Series Paper on the Frame, sponged around using blending brushes.
    • DSP added to stand on the back
    • When making this using Imperial Measurements your window size will be smaller. The Dancer and Band will be closer together
    • I sponged edges of layers using Lemon Lolly and Lost Lagoon Ink (re Pic’s)
    • I sponged Stage lighting using Lemon Lolly Ink and two pieces of post-it note to create a ‘V’
    • Band – Beaver and Water Hog and adhered to the DSP, Frog is attached with 2 mini dimensionals

      Zoo Crew -Live with Michele

      How cute is this card!

I love it when an idea works out better than I thought it would and it was so simple. Using the Designer Series Paper, Zoo Crew images be the ‘Hero’ of the card. There are 6 images, one on each sheet of DSP that match with a die that you can easily die cut out. Change the colours to coordinate with the image and you can create 6 cards all different. By fussy cutting you can add more animals and more cards.
