Just add “E”

A challenge using “E”……E for Egg…E for Easter….E for Exciting…

With Easter only days away that could be one theme to run with or you could choose colours/images/Easel fold or even add a tool…Envelope Punch Board maybe.

My card is all about Easter….

God gave us his Son to die on the Cross for Us.

His Son the LAMB of God.

The sentiment on the front of the card was printed via the computer.

I love the way that Rochelle Blok (JAI Design Team) made her Cross so I have CASed her idea to make mine.

I loved the way the Cross is tied together with Linen Thread giving it that rustic feel.

I used the Hardwood Stamp to achieve a timber look for the cross.

My lamb is sitting among flowers at the base of the Cross.

I wish you all a very Happy Easter.

I think I need HELP!

I’m having a Challenge ADDICTION.

Oh…the lack of sleep, to complete this challenge.

But guess what…….

I’M LOVING IT!

Yesterday one of my friends mentioned JAI on FB…….

Whats JAI?

So I Googled JAI….came up with actor’s, company’s, but then …there it was ……

“JUST ADD INK”

Wow! Yes I had heard of them but back then I wasn’t ADDICTED to challenges.

Saw the challenge and knew I had to give it ago, it was inspirational, I knew what I wanted to do.

But my family had gone to bed, my DH had gone to bed and I should have been in bed but “NO” here I was cutting, trimming and gluing.

The Challenge was to use these fantastic colours, I love these colours

Don’t they look great together…..IMAG0640

There’s a touch of elegance with the colours of the richness of Blackberry Bliss and Rich Razzleberry…

but then the earthiness of Tip Top Taupe.

So with this card I have framed it for that formal look but then added the Linen thread, Vintage button with a tuft of Blackberry Bliss thread to give it a rustic feel.

Global Design Project #027 | Theme Challenge

Every time I think of the words “Thank You” I think of a song I used to sing at Church in the Youth Choir..(Sooooo many years ago)

Thank you for giving me the morning,

thank you for every day that,s new,

thank you for new things in store for me

and for work to do.

Thank you, I see your word has meaning,

thank you, I know your Spirit here,

thank you, because you love all people

those both near and far

Thank you for speaking to us,

thank you for telling us you care,

thank you, O Lord you came among us

bread and wine to share

Thank you, O Lord your is boundless

thank you that I am full of you

thank you you make me feel so glad and

thankful as I do

,

There seems to be many versions of this song, but this is the one I remember so clearly.

My card today I have made using the Botanical Builder Framelits and Wildflower Fields DSP,

The Botanicals I have cut out in Whisper White Card Stock and sponged in Calypso Coral, Old Olive and Hello Honey.

The Tag and Thank you sentiment come from the Rose Wonder Stamp Set and Rose Garden Thinlits Dies.

For me this card is soft, gentle and “Thankful”, just as the song.

“Happy Birthday” with Rose Wonder …..PPA291- Colour Challenge

Was looking for inspiration for a card and I came across this challenge by Pals Paper Arts and decided to give it ago.

I don’t think I have done much with these colours, which are……..

PPA291-Mar10My mother has a beautiful rose garden and she has a rose near her front door that is a similar colour.

So when I saw these colours they inspired me to use Rose Wonder from the Occasional Catalog.

The rose is such a large design that it fills the card, so there is no need for many elements.

I have embossed the rose with black embossing powder onto water colour paper and them water coloured the paper using the ink pads and Aqua pens.

The banner was also embossed but onto vellum as I like the colour of the design coming through.

Honey Comb Happiness….there sooooo cute!

Yesterday I had a workshop and we made cards and a gift for Easter….

and I just had to share it with you.

Kathy wanted to make one of her cards into a Birthday Card, so we added the balloon and Oh’ Hello.

The Envelope Punchboard Decanter was cased from Linda @ Paper Craft with Crafty.

To make it a bit more suited for my class I converted the measurements from Imperial to Metric and enlarged slightly. With a few adjustments it turned out great.

For the Cards we used the Honeycomb Happiness Stamp Set from the Sale-A-Bration Catalog.

THANK YOU……for being my friend, for helping me, for doing something nice or maybe for taking part in some event.

It’s nice to say “Thank You” and sometimes we don’t say it enough….

it doesn’t have to be for the big things in Life but those little things that get forgotten.

It’s good to let those we love know that we do think of them and we do appreciate what they do.

The card I’ve made today is going to a lovely friend who every two weeks comes over and helps me clean the house.

I really appreciate her for this as…

1. I hate house work

2. I have problems getting around so to have someone do those things that take me all day. lets me get the smaller jobs done

3. She is also good for a chat and its nice to have a friend that calls in for a coffee.

I have made this card using the Botanical’s again, this time I wanted a patchwork type of look…but as always I have one idea in my head to start with and end up with something a bit different.

I’m very pleased with the way it has turned out

Global Design Project #026 | Sketch Challenge

It’s “Sketch Challenge Week”, love Sketch Challenge’s

because someone else has come up with the card design and I just have to add my design elements to it.

Well…..I can play around with it, its the inspiration.

This weeks Challenge was designed by Teneale Williams.

Sketch Challenge.Really like this one….so much you can do.

Here is my take on Teneale’s layout.

I have kept it very simple as I wanted the Water Colour to be the focus.

I have done this technique before and really love it, because you don’t know what you are going to end up with.

I  used a product called ” Frog Tape”, delicate surface , a painters tape which I purchased from “Masters”

My edges didn’t come out as crisp as I would have liked ..but I’m not worried as I think it adds to the beauty and flightiness of the butterfly.

It is a little fiddly cutting the masking and then placing it on the card stock, but I made my join down the middle to make it easy.

I love the richness of the colours and they worked well with the Bohemian Designer Series Paper.
