All Yea Faithful – Global Design Project #GDP011
Is the projects that will be
What a week…….so busy. Joey Scout Mob Holiday last weekend…
then get home to hear that No: 2 son is sick. He’s in the Navy and was away somewhere floating around in a big ship!
He was being shipped back to Australia and then to Sydney. Yesterday we went to see him and he’s doing well.
So didn’t even get around to thinking about this until this morning.
The sketch was made by the famous Teneale Williams.
This was fun! The leaves were sponged in 2 colours and then stamped on a 3″ square and then cut into quarters.
Love doing flowers and making them 3D.
I punched them out using the small pansy punch from the Itty Bitty Accents.
I then softened the paper by rubbing with
Bone folder until paper separated. By using the inside of the paper it gives you a velvety and soft look to the flowers
The inside of card was also stamped and a flower added.
This week is a colour challenge!
Every time I see these colours I tend to go toward the same stamp set…….but this time I’m going to try something a little different.
Recently I have been playing with watercolour paper and I love how the colours move and blend.
The stamp set I used is Choose Happiness, a beautiful set and one I have not used much.
My idea for this card just grew as I worked…made mistakes..no restarts, just kept working and letting it takes its natural course.
The flowers are embossed in clear, masking and stamping until I had 3 flowers.
Then after I gave the water paper a light coating of water I started adding the Watermellon Wonder to the flowers using the Stampin’ Write Markers and moving the ink around with a wet brush.
Adding more colour as I went to give more depth and allowing the ink to flow beyond the flowers.
Once dry I added the leaves and embossed those as well….adding water to the area I painted the leaves in Mint Macaron and highlighted them with Tip Top Taupe.
The background started as a wash of Tip Top Taupe around the flowers to give depth and then a wash of Mint Macaron across the page.
but this still looked too clean…so I added the lace boarder, stamping off on scratch paper before stamping on my page.
I went over it with a large wet paintbrush to make it look blended and aged. To add to the effect I sponged the edges with Tip Top Taupe and with Mint Macaron.
This card is full of little mistakes that I worked over the top of and added to until I finished with something I am really pleased with….
I hope you are too.
“Home for Christmas….Hand-drawn imagery, evokes the nostalgic feelings of Christmas past.”
This is how Stampin’ Up! have described this Designer Series Paper and how true that is.
As soon as I saw this paper I could see myself as a little girl enjoying Christmas.
I love the Deer’s and I found Rudolf with his Red Nose. There’s Santa “Round and Jolly with sacks full of presents” and Christmas Tree’s decorated with presents too!
Its such a beautiful and tradition paper series…so I decided to use it for my GDP this week.
I’m running a class using this paper so why not use the “Case the Designer” as one of the class cards.
I love the card Kylie has done so keeping to the same layout here is my card for this weeks challenge.
I did say I found “Rudolf”
Couldn’t do last weeks Challenge, so I was so looking forward to seeing what the GDP Team had for us this week.
And here it is…..my brain was going all night trying to think of something that would stretch me…….!
Should I do soft and pretty? No always do that……
Had a look through my papers and I found….”Go Wild Designer series Paper” Not a lot as I purchased as part of a share.
Not something I would normally buy, OK this is the one!
And this is what I came up with….
I didn’t want to add too many lines on this card as the paper is very busy. The contrasting paper works well with a small amount of black either side to break it up.
To add “POP” to the card I used the Cotton Paper in Watermellon Wonder and the Pansy Punch for the flower with a Antique Brad as its center.
The Wooden element to finish it off and to give the card a purpose.
Am I happy with it…Yes I am….did it stretch me…Yes I think it did.
Sometimes its good to do something that is different to what you would normally do…so why not have a go and see what you come up with.
Just had a look at my shop and the Weekly Deals are up….WOO HOO!!!
There are some great product…mmmm…may have to splurge a bit myself.

The challenge this week is called “Case the Designer”.
Love this card that Louise has designed.
Here are the Rules for this challenge……
What fun we had today!
What do you think, looks like fun that’s because it was fun and its called “Oh What Fun Tag Project Kit”.
We made 10 different tag and 3 in each design, 30 tags altogether. They were so simple and not many products required. All we needed was
1 kit, 3 stamp pads, some adhesives and don’t forget the clear stamp blocks. Everything else is provided in the kit.
Lots of chatting, coffee (made by wonderful son – Robert) and FUN!
If you are interested in having your own Class contact me.
This weeks Challenge Theme from GDP is ……”BABY”
I don’t have anything “BABY”….I don’t do much “BABY”…….my kids are teenagers and young adults.
What can I do!
I have some of the “Sweet Li’l Things” Designer Series Paper…..but not much (was part of a share)
This is a real Challenge for me…no “BABY” Stamps
My brain is reeling….what can I do!
After a bit of tearing, embossing, stitching, adding a button and my only “BABY” stamp ………
Here it is.
I think it turned out OK….what do you think?
